I started training with him about 9 months after having spine surgery and he has always been very cautious with any exercise involving my back, as well as other minor injuries/issues I had. And, after a few months my mother, who is 75 and has never gone to the gym a day in her life, tried an intro session and now trains with him regularly. He is also a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I train with him privately and have learned more in weeks with him than months at other gyms. This was only my second Pilates class ever, so I had no idea what I was walking into. Turns out I walked into the abs and glutes class of all abs and glutes classes. Lauren is tough -- but the kind of tough that keeps you going because she makes it fun and challenging at the same time. I wanted to quit and keep going all at once, which I think means she's doing something right. Today was my first class and I absolutely loved it! The concept is amazing. The classes start every 10 minutes, so there's really no excuse to be late or miss a workout. The format is three rounds of four stations, 10 minutes each ...hence the name Sweat440. It's a quick but super effective 40 minute class that really gets you sweating. What I appreciated most was the coaching. The trainers are hands on and attentive. If they see you doing something incorrectly, they'll stop by, explain, and show you the proper form. That made me feel comfortable, supported, and confident in what I was doing. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, structured, and efficient workout. The rowing machine, for example, has loose bolts and makes a scraping noise when in use, as the seat hits against the metal frame.
