I always leave feeling that mixture of soreness and relief. She finds knots I didn't even know existed! I've tried a handful of different massage places and always end up coming back to BodyGood even though I don't live super close. Scheduling is easy via calling or text. Recommend parking in the paid lot on Ferdinand for $2/hour if you're there on a weekday or Saturday. Sunday, I try to street park for free as there's usually a few back in spots near the paid lot. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to write a review for BodyGood Massage! A year ago when I was 7 months pregnant, my boyfriend and I were hit by an uninsured motorist and as a result, I was left in even more pain that what I was already experiencing from being in my 3rd trimester. I needed chiropractic care and massage therapy QUICK. I did a quick search of massage therapy locations that accepted insurance claims and stumbled upon Bodygood from yelp. I called them on Friday and they were able to get me in for an appointment on Sunday. They have great flexibility in their hours and are open on weekends which is amazing since I work a 9-5 type job during the weekdays. I have had the pleasure of working with three separate therapists, owners Dan and Li, and then chase ( I think that was her name!). They all have their own unique styles that were effective at working out the knots I had! My boyfriend had never had a massage before, but needed some after the accident and told me he really enjoyed it as well. Dan and Li are such a sweet couple and I enjoyed my visits not just for the massage, but also to tap into their knowledge to get tips on how to help some of my pain (from pregnancy and from the accident), and just to talk story with! As if that wasn't reason enough to go, the owners, Dan and Li are both locals! I love supporting local businesses in the Columbia city area! After passing by the shop hundreds of times while walking through Columbia City, I had my first massage with Bodygood Massage this week and I will definitely be going back. Li was super accommodating even though I got the time wrong for my appointment. If you're nervous about getting a massage during COVID, I felt they took a lot of precautions including taking your temp, wearing masks at all times, and spacing out appointment so you don't interact with other patients or staff. The deep tissue massage itself was incredible. Li is clearly very talented and I was really impressed by how she read my body. Unlike other massage experiences I've had, Li really paid attention to the spots I asked her to, checked in to see how I was doing, and the pressure she used was perfect for me. I also really appreciated that Li didn't try to force conversation during the massage so I could just really relax and enjoy the massage and the music. I didn't use insurance so I can't weigh in on that process but overall I would recommend Bodygood to anyone, especially if you really like a strong massage. read more

I can't begin to explain how much Dan has helped my body function so much better. I really have never been anywhere better for a deep tissue massage. Mostly he is really good about zeroing in on your problem areas and making sure to loosen them up or give them the right attention. I have had way less neck and back pain since going to him! I regularly do Cyclebar, team sports (baseball, soccer), so my body takes a beating. Can't thank him enough for making sure I'm able to continue to do the things that I love! Overall the amenities are great, bathrooms are super clean which is sometimes an issue that I find with older buildings. I had 3 massages here and Rebecca was great! However, my last visit was today due to the terrible customer service. I don't appreciate the man (I believe he is the owner) talking behind my back because I arrived 10 min early (door was locked) and I called a few times to see if anyone was there. "People act like they can't read their text message reminder and get upset when you don't respond fast" aren't things you want to hear immediately after a relaxing massage. Granted the owner was taking to Rebecca and didn't see me walking down the hall...it was unprofessional. What's even more laughable was the lack of an apology. I've been feeling tightness in my shoulders and back over the past week, so I have been craving another good session of deep, deep tissue massage. Being such a massage junkie, I love trying different places out. And...seeing such good reviews on Yelp on deep tissue massage at this place, I decided to get out of work early on Monday evening and call BodyGood Massage Therapy up to see if they had any immediate availability for a 90-min massage session. Luckily, they were able to fit me into their 8:15pm schedule on the same day :) Dan was my massage therapist. I have to admit that I didn't feel comfortable at first knowing that my massage therapist was a guy (since my last unclothed massage session with a male therapist wasn't a good experience at all). Since then, I sort of made a promise to myself to never go with a male massage therapist again. But since I scheduled my massage with BodyGood the same day, I just felt grateful that they were able to accommodate my request at the very last minute, so...I felt I shouldn't be too picky about my therapist's gender. ...and I was not disapointed at all! In fact, I was very happy I had Dan as my therapist. Dan is very skilled and his massage was excellent. He definitely does the type of a deep, deep, strong massage I was looking for. I could feel my tense body loosen up and felt much more relaxed after this massage session. I love, love Dan's strong massage and feel very fortunate to have checked and tried out this place out. More importantly, it's good to know that I would finally have a good night sleep...at least for another week until my usual back and shoulders pains come back again (hopefully, never though!!) :). For sure, I will look into scheduling my next message session at BodyGood again soon. Next time though, I would probably have to make a self-note to upgrade and go for a full 2 hr session :)...yup..it's that good :) read more
