I let her know about my shoulder and neck being knotted from working at a desk and also doing a lot of weightlifting. She really got in there and helped ease all of my shoulder tension and was great at communicating and making sure it wasn't too much pressure. I also let my masseuse know that I had an arm tattoo that is still healing (at 4 weeks post-tat, I still didn't want any oil or rubbing on it) and she was super accommodating to this request! My masseuse Anna placed my feet into a bucket of warm water as she began to massage my face, head, neck, shoulders and arms. I closed my eyes and felt incredibly relaxed. He rubbed the same spot over and over again-- when he asked about the pressure after the 3rd time I told him to soften up. I should have informed him it's not the pressure it's the excessive rubbing in the same spot. I got a noticeable bruise the next morning and a couple of dark spots that is light bruising. I did not feel the knots loosening, I did not feel any lighter. It's been almost 3 days and my back is tighter than it has ever been and hurts especially my shoulder blade area and neck where he kept rubbing. Idk what all the good reviews are about; both my sisters who also got massages with me said it was not great. I just had the worst experience out of my sisters. Then he moved to my feet and gave me an outstanding foot and calf massage. I don't think that he was actually hitting the trigger points, but I don't really care, it felt amazing! After he massaged my feet, he did some work on my upper thigh area and then had me roll over to my face, and he worked on my back, shoulders, glutes, calves, and a little bit more on my feet. I won't say it was super relaxing, but it definitely felt so good and at some point it was painful, but it was a good kind of painful. I left feeling like I need to cancel my membership at my regular massage place and just come here instead!
