This was my first real massage i have ever gotten. I was so stresses out of my mind i would have tried anything once! I asked for a Hot Stone Massage because i like rocks and feel each one has healing properties. I thought everything would be painful to me, not true. Some areas were painful, but it was because my muscles were so tight. In that 1 hour, i had a full body massage, things were bent, curved, pulled, pushed, etc. No painful know was left untouched! I was open to anything and i wasnt disappointed. It waa far better than i originally thought! I left there so relaxed i almost couldnt drive! Body Zen is a great place to get a no frills massage. If your looking for the spa treatment, this is not the place for you. That said, I am a big fan of their massages! I've gone 9 times, over the last year (one more and I get a free massage!). I carry a lot of stress through my back and they do a pretty good job at working out the kinks. I've had different people perform my massages and, overall, I've been happy! The staff is really friendly! They always make me feel right at home when I'm there. The best thing about Body Zen is that they can get me in with just a couple of hours notice. I may have been lucky, but every time I've called for an appointment, they've been able to fit me in the same day. Some things to keep in mind when you go: *They do pretty good body work but if you're not happy with something, let them know! *The rooms are open at the top, so you can easily hear what's going on in the room next to you. Not a big deal if the other clients are quiet, but there have been times when I've heard actual moans coming from the room next to me. As distracting as it can be, I credit it to another happy customer. *Same goes for the reception area - please be quiet when you enter. People may be getting a massage, so speaking at your normal volume when you walk in is yet another distraction. *They take credit cards, but I always bring cash for the tip. *Most importantly, leave your modesty at the door. They've seen it all before and really don't care about seeing you, so don't worry! read more

$60 = 1 hour for a decent massage I would go back but I think that the massages at Innman Oasis (aka Urban Oasis) are much better for $75/hour. Body Zen did take my gf and I last minute which was nice- we called Oasis first and they were booked of course. Down sides: Very little concern for privacy. I am hardly modest but after the hostess left me in the room to undress and get under the towel she returned only 45 seconds later- when I was standing there buck naked to say something and didn't even bat an eye. Um yeah. Also when my massage lady asked me to turn over there was no towel being held up etc and I was face up naked, waiting to be covered up which didn't happen until I reached for the towel- a little weird but whatever. The massage was decent and relaxing- I'd reccomend it, especially for people who don't have serious knots to work out and just want a nice massage. The decor was really bad too but I don't think that matters so much. Also nobody really spoke English but again not a huge deal- unless you have knots you want to explain etc. Overall a good place for a cheaper massage- plus after 10 massages you get a free one! read more

Stayed in China for 5 months and came back with soreness on my shoulder and back. I am looking for a good massage place in town. I have asked my neighbor and other friends who live in belmont, they all recommend this place. I was surprise cause there is not many reviews, however they have open for 13 years. ( after the massage, I asked the owner they opened in 2006, what a surprise!) Got to say that they might don't have a fancy decoration but if you are looking for a good massage, the masseuses here are all skilled and they are using their heart to do the massage. This place is amazing! I went in for a deep tissue massage and the amount of pressure was incredible. It was almost too much pressure and I have never once said that before. I went after not getting a massage after 6 months because COVID and I was so sore the next day. I went back 3 weeks later and my body was ready for it and I felt even more relaxed. Angela is amazing and will do exactly what you ask. It came with free hot stone massage too! It was a clean facility and they dispose of everything you touch. There's no huge frills but definitely worth the money. I highly recommend this place for athletes with a lot of knots and need a really good massage! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would! Do not go here! They are short staffed, rude, and unbelievable unprepared. My Massage was interrupted 4 times. The woman was answering the phone while massaging me with one hand. She was checking people in at the front door! Opening and closing the door to which the room I was lying naked in! I am here on business so as a result I been having some bad neck strains. Called in the evening and booked appointment (although not sure it was necessary) Jennifer was very good and through worked all my neck issues out. Going to be sleeping really well this evening. Parking could be an issue here but there is a CVS just down the way for a walk if you had too. I will be going back they do have one girl there does speak better English but again not a biggie just so they work out all the body parts. Be careful when you have to go the bathroom, they have some crazy stairs that are alittle unsafe but hey your in better shape now! LOL..Have a good one. read more

BodyZEN's prices are lower than anywhere in the area, so I decided to give it a shot. The massage itself wasn't terrible (although I should have requested it be a little less pressure, but that's all on me, as she did ask me a couple of times if it was okay), but their other practices weren't very professional. For instance, all they had to cover up under was a small towel that barely covered the minimum amount; a sheet or light blanket would have been a lot more comfortable. They didn't explain anything to me when I walked in, about which way to lie on the table, nor what to cover up under (again, I was expecting something large like a sheet, not a small towel). I am not very modest and don't really care about people seeing my unclothed body, but it does make it hard to relax when you are thinking about that kind of thing. In all, I felt mostly uneasy about the whole situation. I think if you are looking for a budget massage and don't care so much about these kinds of things, you will be fine here. I don't believe I'll return, though, because I don't get a massage in order to feel uneasy. Also, beware: they charge a service charge if you pay by credit card. This was not mentioned to me before I arrived, and if you care about that sort of thing you should bring cash. read more

BodyZen Massage is a little different from the usual massage studio in suburban Boston. Instead of the usual spacious waiting area and solid, private treatment rooms, BodyZen appears to have been packed into a small storefront, featuring a small but pleasant waiting area, a reception desk, and several small treatment rooms partitioned somewhat like dressing rooms. I was entertained by the bits of conversation emanating from the other rooms, but otherwise there seems to be adequate privacy. There is a clearly Chinese ambiance, although the prerequisite new age music is in evidence. My practitioner, one of two licensed therapists, was very cheerful, helpful and competent, using a combination of western style massage, heat treatments and acupressure (no needles here) to spruce up my ailing back. Support rails built into the ceiling suggested that some walking on backs may occur here, but there was none of that for me. Parking did not seem to be a problem on this section of Trapelo Road in Belmont, and the price was about 25%-35% lower than the somewhat more up-scale alternatives at $60 per hour. read more

I have been here before with my mother. Today was my mother's birthday and she really enjoys the foot massages here. She had foot pains for more than 20 years and this is the only place she has told me she's liked. Today I ordered a gift certificate over the phone for her and the girl there offered to bring the gift to her house since my Mom lives in Belmont (since I'm out of state). I know this may not seem like a huge distance, but I think that is SUCH INCREDIBLE service!!! I endorse the earlier reviews. What I like (very casual atmosphere and ability to get walk in appointment). I note that even with an appointment, you may not/ probably will not get the MT you requested, however they are all competent in my view. At first I was put off by fact communication was difficult but then I found that I did not feel the necessity of talking as I often do when getting MT so I was able to relax more.. I agree it would be nice if there was more soundproofing. Every MT was charming and friendly and welcoming. They offer a 30 minute massage option that I have taken several times. read more

I've been to BodyZEN several times and the massage is usually good. It's a nice decor, however, privacy is minimal as you can hear the person in the next booth as they can hear you. It would be much more private if there were actual "rooms" where the walls went from the ceiling to the floor. The way the spaces are set up allow the massage therapists to chit-chat back and forth from one booth to the other which is very rude, and distracting, in my opinion, especially when their language is different; it's takes a little effort to explain where to massage. Mary gives the best massage, while the other therapists seem to be on a New York rotation and change every six months or so, so ask for Mary. The price is fair, the massage is good, and if you're nearby, it's worth it to try, but I wouldn't make a special trip. Overall not bad, but not the best. read more

The lady who worked on me answered her phone twice during the massage and left me once to greet a customer who when she got back in the room she started made fun of him calling him crazy. she also was coughing often and just making it uncomfortable. i honestly left before the session was complete.
