She asked for permission before standing on me and was great about communicating what areas were tense and where I could benefit from stretching. Absurdly thrilled with my experience here. Vibes are great, super clean and relaxing. My therapist went to town on me. I said don't hold back on pressure and she absolutely did not, she used her full force walking on my whole body. I pointed out part of my body that was particularly stiff due to sleeping poorly and she really dug into that. The massage was a combo of deep tissue massaging, stretching, some hot stones and oil. The best massage I've received in a long time. I went to Praan with my boyfriend and we got a couples massage. It was an amazing experience. We had a reservation for 6:30 but was late due to parking issues. I'd recommend going earlier to find parking especially on weekends. The staff were so friendly and understanding even though we were 15 minutes late. Our masseuses, Tatia and Tom, were attentive to our needs and request for pressure and areas to focus on. Some parts of the massage were relaxing but others were intense (in a good way). I have a tense back so Tatia focused on that region more. She also walked on my back and it was so incredible. I've never had a massage before, and boy is that going to change after my experience at Praan Thai. For the past 5 days I've had a sore neck (barely allowing myself to look left) so I thought "maybe I should get a massage?" and THANK GOD I did. Neck ache...gone! You walk in and receive immediate kindness and are immersed into an atmosphere of pure zen. I was handed a tablet to fill out information about where exactly I was feeling sore, how much pressure I'd like to experience, etc. Having never had a massage before, I didn't know what to expect but it was super easy communicating my needs with the therapist. They also provide you with elastic shoe bags to put over your shoes, which helps maintain the cleanliness of this place. I mean it was pristine in there! They put me in a room that was dimly lit, with an aroma of smells (not too strong!) and calming noises. They give you time to change and provide you with a sheet to cover you before the therapist comes in. The lacrosse ball massages I give myself at home simply do not compare to their techniques-- I experienced a mixture of hand, feet, knee, and hot rocks techniques. It felt amazing and was super relaxing. No chance I would've been able to knead my neck pain out like they did. Pricing is extremely reasonable. I got the "Neck, Head, and Shoulders" treatment for $60 before tip. Neck ache gone after my visit? I'll pay that any day. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend! read more

I've been here twice and gotten great, thorough massages each time! They will use a lot of pressure unless you direct them not to, and same when they stretch you. They'll keep a sheet over you and massage parts of you over the sheet at times. The technique is unique, and I felt it could be a little more refined at times, but I still felt great coming out of the massages. For my last massage, I asked the masseuse I'd like a little extra attention on my feet/shins/calves, and I'm not sure if I could've been clearer, but I felt she didn't spend quite as much time there as I'd wanted. A touch of real Thai in Watertown. As a former high school and college football player years ago, my shoulders and arms have had limited movement and given a considerable amount of pain over the years. Only relief has been painful stretching and real deep tissue massage by a Thai massage therapist who knows what they're doing. Until I visited Praan and Peggy - my therapist, I had to go all the way to Thailand and Singapore to get real therapy that's painful, but incredibly effective in inducing healing for the long term. Backing up..I bought a 90 minutes massage for my SIL for her birthday. I decided to join her and we were excited to have a day of R&R. Both of us, who are very used to deep tissue type massages, came out practically crawling from pain. I guess her masseuse stood on her and dug in with her heals and then elbows to the point of yelling "PLEASE STOP". While I didn't get the same acrobatic treatment, mine crawled up and down my back and dug their elbows in so deep I can still feel it from 2 days ago. My back is also broken out in blister like sores, and don't know if it's from the oils they applied or something else. I can see most love it! But if you're not into extreme pain, beware. read more

Love this place. I'm a massage snob and Praan is the real deal with truly adept Thai therapists who are professional, hardworking and kind. My wife and I get couples massages here as often as we can. We always leave relaxed and in better shape in terms of aches and pains. They even ask you to wear booties so your shoes don't get the floor dirty. The integrated is a combination massage of Thai, deep tissue, oil, and hot stone. Ah, this is the definition of relaxation and stretching. I walked in on a busy Sunday and was fortunate to find a spot right away. I had just returned from a long trip (think: small airplane seats, hours on the air, running through airports...) and I was both tired, stressed out and in pain. My therapist listened carefully to my requests, and worked towards relieving pain in all areas that needed relief, while listening to cues for pressure and sensitive points. I walked out feeling like a human again... The studio is clean and tranquil; staff are polite, skillful and respectful, and overall this was a very positive experience. I got the "Integrated Body Work" massage with Grace. Her magic hands and feet (yes feet) found crevices I didn't even know I had, and then massaged them out. Her technique gave me the most satisfying combination of relaxing and therapeutic massage. She integrated stretches while massaging that doubled the affect of the treatment without making it seem like a sports massage or post work-out stretch. I can't do it or Grace justice describing it (which may be why it has such an interesting title) but it is the best massage I've ever had.
