I met Carla several years ago playing tennis together. I learned she had a design business, and…read morekept that in mind as we were considering redoing our master bathroom. Several years later we decided to reach out to Carla for her opinion on a redesign of our 1990's bathroom. Carla came up with a great design to maximize and enhance the space, including a jetted tub and larger shower. Working with Carla was easy and she asked great questions to make us think about what we really needed and wanted. Carla also helped us avoid costly mistakes. She came up with some great solutions for our backsplash, counters, tiles, and hardware. The trades she recommended were also very good to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend Carla to others and use her in the future for any redesign projects.

Carla spent significant time with us listening carefully, evaluating our space, answering questions, and offering suggestions. The planning process was thorough and all estimates were on point. Carla brings 30 years' experience in design and construction to the process. She worked to make us happy, but stood her ground when what we asked was not a good idea. From planning through execution, her communication was superb. Questions were answered quickly. We always knew what to expect and when subcontractors would be at our job. Her subcontractors did excellent work and were a pleasure to have in our home. Carla personally checked on each day's work, ensuring that all aspects were up to her very high standard. As with any construction project, not everything went perfectly. Carla stepped in as our advocate with suppliers, always exhibiting grace under pressure to ensure delays were minimized. Her mantra is, "There is always a solution!" Then there is the "above and beyond" aspect of working with Gemini Design Group. Carla noticed the step from the kitchen into the garage was too high thus a bit dangerous. It had always been that way so over 20 years we had become used to it. Being comfortable with picking up tools to make things right, Carla designed and built a proper step into our garage. We are grateful to have found Carla Gaeta of Gemini Design Group. You can place your trust in her to deliver a beautiful, functional kitchen, bath, or both! In fact, Gemini will be starting work on our main bathroom very soon.

The cabinet maker's name is Rudy and his name truly fits. I have never experienced such rudeness…read moreand unprofessionalism in my life. From the second he walked into my home the man was obnoxious. I understand he is in the business of selling cabinets, but I was very specific in my initial phone call with Ellen stating that I don't need all new cabinets, but need a professional kitchen designer to tell me if an island will fit in my space and if so, to discuss options for that cabinetry. I told her that I also wanted to discuss options for either replacing or reconfiguring a pretty useless skinny kitchen cabinet to make it more useful. I was surprised that the cabinet maker even came to the appointment, as I thought it would just be Ellen. I don't necessarily have a problem with Rudy trying to steer me in the direction of purchasing all new cabinets as I am experienced enough to anticipate the typical sales pitch. I do however, have a huge problem with attitude and anger which this man exhibited tenfold. After quite vocally telling me that my cabinets were crap, I asked him then what his vision would be for the kitchen if I was to replace the cabinets. Would an island fit or should I keep the peninsula layout and purchase new extended countertops to accommodate seating? All of which would be purchased through them. He wasn't even hearing me that I was willing to entertain the idea of replacing the cabinets. Instead he just kept shouting about how he wouldn't do anything with these cabinets because although the fronts were OK, the quality was crap. So in addition to his rudeness, he doesn't even listen to the client. At one point I had to ask him to lower his voice because my son was trying to take a test downstairs and he was texting me to say that the man was too loud. Both Ellen and I had to ask him again to lower his voice because he kept shouting. And his angry response was "why, because he's sleeping?" I'll spare the details, but suffice to say that I ended up having to ask them both to leave my home. I don't know what this man's reputation is as a cabinet maker, kitchen designer etc... nor do I care. I would never ever recommend him to anyone.

Disagree with their statement of good service and professionalism. No cooperation at all!!!!!…read more When my husband was in the hospital for 3 days, then our well needed work and to add more stress my husband lost his job. (May 12th is when he lost his job and we are officially coming up on 2 months still unemployed) We called Ellen on May 12th regarding our hurdles and asked if we could get a refund of our $30,450.00 or see if Rudy could work with what he had. On May 14th she asked for a date that we could get together to discuss the kitchen. I immediately responded that we are pretty open. On May 18th I had to follow back up with her about this requested meeting. She finally responded stating that Saturday, May 22nd, would work. We hated to do this, but felt we had no other option given our constant road blocks and were happy to see they wanted to discuss our kitchen. I'm guessing that my impression of discussion is completely different from theirs..... Instead we were appalled when Rudy came in loudly stating that we had a contract with him and that he turned down other jobs to take ours since we lived just down the street. Then he had the audacity to look at my husband and quip, "GO OUT AND GET A JOB!" At no time was there any professional customer service or potential brainstorming to work with what we had already paid. When I asked if we could focus on that, I was told our kitchen would look like crap!!!!! THEN, I was told to come up with a design for our kitchen and to call them when I had one.... Design is not part of my expertise....so I reached out for recommendations on next door. Found a wonderful person who was very helpful but stated we needed to know just what has been done by Rudy so we can know our starting point..... this request did not go over well at all with Ellen. She then insisted on getting my husbands cell phone as she wanted to deal with him. You know...the man currently LOOKING FOR A JOB! I declined her request but after numerous demands I finally gave it to her. Has my husband gotten any calls on his cell phone?????? ONE! From Rudy. And the message was, Ellen told me to call you" I could give more information, but safe to say we are still with no money back in our pockets and no cooperation from these people who claim to be professionals. At this point I don't think I would trust them to do a quality job for us. Scammers maybe, but far cry from great customer service.....
