If you go to him, he probably will be able to successfully perform an eye exam and write a prescription for whatever you need, as well as give you recommendations on what products to use. He gets two stars for this. Dr. McVeigh's "bed-side manner" is not that great. If you're at all uncomfortable or nervous, he's probably not going to put you at ease, and in fact the way he communicates with you might make you even more nervous. He gets no stars for this. If his bedside manner was just unremarkable, I'd give him one star for this. If it was spectacular, I'd give him two. I get contacts every year for the last five years now. Every year I have to re-pay for a "fitting". When I questioned why, when I wear the exact same contacts every year, do I have to pay for a fitting that my insurance doesn't cover, they could not provide any good explanation. I can understand the very first year, when they had to try three different contacts before they found the one that was most comfortable for me this was required, but year after year the "fitting" part of the exam that I am paying for out of pocket is literally just "so, you want contacts again?" "yep" "ok, I'll just keep you in the ones your in". Why am I paying $140 for this? He gets no stars for this. They "gave" me "free" sunglasses that were an "$80 value". I prefer the $6 sunglasses I bought at Kroger over their paltry selection. I can get polarized sunglasses for $20 somewhere else, and they were way more than that here (for polarized). They don't even look good. Plus they mingle the men's and women's sunglasses (and glasses as far as I can tell) and there aren't enough mirrors. I didn't even bother with more than a cursory glance at the glasses after my experience with the sunglasses. I can get glasses online way easier and more comfortably than the glasses here (let alone buy them, which I didn't even bother doing).

The check in process was smooth and very organized. They sanitize your hands as soon as you arrive, take your temp and have a spot for clean and used pens. Little things to some people but it's something I appreciate considering we still have the pandemic going on. The office was bright and cheery. The rooms were nicely decorated to give you a good vibe. I scheduled for eye exam and contact lens exam. I am a first time contact lens user. I had an exam last year with another eye doctor's office but I felt like I did not get enough support, patience and teaching from the other eye doctor's office and hence I did not continue/succeed with using contacts last year. But as the famous song goes, "If at first you don't succeed, brush yourself off and try again". Not sure if those are the exact words to the song but you get what I mean.lol. And yes so I did try again and scheduled an appointment at visionelle eye care. I am so glad did! I should have chosen them in the first place! Believe all the good reviews you hear and read about Dr. Thomas! She is amazing! Let's face it, going to an eye doctor appointment is not really something a lot of people look forward to doing. I could really go on and on about how awesome Dr. Thomas is. She has great bedside manner! She is very personable, her smile and laugh is contagious! She took her time to get to know me, my concerns, family history and the entire exam itself was done with lots of care. You feel like you are talking to a friend and she really made me feel at ease. She was very patient and supportive while I was trying to muster the courage to put the contacts in and out of my eyes. I did not feel pressured and I was constantly reassured by Dr. Thomas that I can do it. She really took the time to be there and coach me. I did not get that kind of support from my previous eye doctor. Hence, I think Dr. Thomas being really supportive helped me a lot to successfully get the contacts in and out this time! I really don't have the right words to describe how thankful I am to Dr. Thomas. Being able to wear contacts even if just on some days is life changing for me. If you are reading this, go ahead and schedule your appointment. As a fellow human being, I would also like other people to have a wonderful eye exam so I am sharing my experience. There is not a lot of eye doctors like Dr. Thomas. She is one of a kind and just truly amazing!
