Worst local pet shop ever. The place is dirty. It's over priced and they are almost always out of stock. I ordered dog food for delivery for that same night( never got delivered) I called no answer. The next day I called all day no answer again. At 3pm I got a call with a excuse apology also saying they would deliver within 15 mins which ended up being just a lie- I called for another 3 hours no answer. I called again at about 7pm and they answered they said delivery on their way which ended up being a 9pm delivery. If it Werner because I have my dogs healthy home cooked meals they would've starved. DONT SHOP HERE. read more

I love this store and the family that owns it. They are such good people, and they really contribute to the neighborhood. For years we came here for cat food, treats and toys, so when we adopted a puppy, it was a no brainer that we'd get everything here as well. From wee wee pads to baby gates, we got everything we needed for our pup. And the owner was so excited for us, he would ask about the puppy every time we came by to stock up on food, and when we finally came in with her, he gave her a toy. She loves visiting him now of course! The prices are comparable to Petco, if not cheaper. Selection varies based on when shipment is arriving. Keep in mind this store is tiny and stocked floor to ceiling. Sometimes it's just easier to ask for what you're looking for instead of looking yourself. And the owner is always happy to help! He also really knows his stuff, having recommended food to me based on dietary restrictions or concerns. When I later looked up what he recommended, I found he was spot on! read more

Totally fair prices on food and treats, and a super chill in-store cat that does not care if you want to pay with credit card because she is napping on the machine. For some reason the Boggie Doggie store a few blocks over on 5th never has my brand of cat food, while this store (same owner) does. Mysteries. I stopped in yesterday with my husband and two large dogs. It was a hot day, so my dogs just laid down on the cool linoleum. The owner was so nice. He kept asking if he could help with anything and if we were having a hard time accessing anything (the aisles are crowded with boxes), he would be happy to get it for us. We bought a few chews, waste baggies and a large harness. The owner adjusted the harness for me and had me try it on my dog right in the store so I didn't run into any problems later. When I got home, I looked the harness up on Amazon.com, to compare prices and it was roughly the same price. I was really happily surprised since I figured a small store like that would have to mark up their prices a lot. I can't emphasize enough how nice the owner was and I definitely will be going back! read more

I have been coming here for the past 3 years to get my doggy Nina her food, cookies, and toys. They have a really good selection of natural, healthy brands of food and treats as Nina is on a allergy diet. A lot of 'made in America' treats and toys which is all that I will buy for Nina. They are significantly cheaper than Petco and the customer service is unparalleled! Both owners, husband and wife are the sweetest! They always ask how Nina is and throw in some extra treats for her. They also deliver which is very convenient. I highly recommend them to all pet owners. I am so happy I found this store, so is Nina! read more

This place saved me! I had just brought my pup home from the shelter and realized I needed to purchase a few items. Since I lived only a couple blocks away from here I decided to check them out. The owner was such a delight to work with and most of the items were relatively inexpensive. They've got a great selection but the place needs some organizing. There are always boxes of toys, accessories, and food every where. Tip: If your dog loves Nutro treats then you should definitely swing by to buy them. They usually stock all of the flavors and are at least $2 less than any where else. I don't live in Bay Ridge anymore but when I am passing by I stop here for toys and more treats. read more

Found this store by accident, stopped in and browsed around. The owner was really nice and asked if I needed any help. Cute kitty on counter. This store carried the brand of food I buy my cats at a very reasonable price ( less than I pay at Petco) but I had just made my weekly trek there. Today I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by and stock up on cat food but at 12 noon the store was not open! I did some shopping and about an hour later drove past and they'd were still closed... On a Wednesday?? Might try again later in the week. read more

I go to the location on 5th Avenue and I love this pet store! They have everything I need, and if they don't have it they can get it. The owner is the nicest woman (so is her daughter who sometimes works in the shop) -- I feel like an honored guest each time I walk through the door. So warm, friendly and helpful. Somewhat new to Bay Ridge, and I'm so glad it's here! While the selection is growing, it already carries some of the top names - Nutro, Science Diet, etc. - as well as lots of toys, shampoo, and treats to choose from. Boggie Doggie is great in and of itself, but the staff is also super, super nice and extremely helpful. PLUS...the prices can't be beat: equal to if not cheaper in price than a lot of the other pet supply stores (both local and corporate). And, as if it couldn't get any better, they are open early and close late. This really is a great asset to the neighborhood, and particularly to pet-owners in general. I love this place! read more

I came across this place accidentally while driving around, I just strolled in to see the selection, the owner is really helpful and polite. They carry one of the hardest to get dog food , Orijen, which my dog happens to be on. Plus they also carry old granny's treat selection, as well as lot of other good stuff at a great price, I was really relieved to find orijen at this store as I always have to order it online. They carry all organic and holistic food lines and some great fun stuff for your dog, nice place.Now I don't have to order online for my dog and wait for the food to get here. read more

I really love both of their locations! Like everyone has said, the owners are really nice and the selection is great. However their hours are inconsistent. I just walked from one location to the other because the first was closed- I assumed the other location would be open this late in the morning (11ish). But neither were open. I had purposefully set aside time to do errands and this was disappointing. read more

Great pet store! I agree with the other reviews- the owners are super nice and helpful and they carry all the top brands at very reasonable, competitive prices. I don't have to order them off of the internet anymore, it's the same price so I save time/shipping cost. My cats are on Natural Balance and Orijen and they carry all sorts of other top quality brands and pet products. I highly recommend this store, I haven't ventured to any of the huge pet stores since this came to the neighborhood (because I haven't had to). Love it, two "paws up." read more

Best pet store in Bay Ridge! The owner is such a pleasant men who'll be happy to assist you. He also owns another pet store in Bay Ridge where they do grooming for cats and dogs. They have some holistic food like Orijen, EVO, Natures Variety and some regular like Purina and etc. Definitely would recommend everyone to support this local business, not the PerSmart or Petco. read more

Amazing selection, top-notch customer service. This is a family run store- and they just opened a second location on 5th avenue next to Leske's Bakery- and they know how to do customer service. They will try their best to accomodate every need- even if its a product they do not carry, they will order it for you. They have a really great selection of organic and natural products, which are difficult to find in most stores. Bay Ridge really benefits from this store. Before they opened, I needed to walk at least 10+ blocks to get my pet supplies for my cats. The owners/staff are like family to us and they know the needs of our two kitties and their food allergies too. Truly a great addition to the neighborhood. Love this store! They have a wide range of holistic foods and are extremely nice and helpful. The owner even gave me a discount when I mentioned that it was my first time in there and offered to help carry my gigundo bag of dog food to my car. They're one of the only places I've found in Brooklyn that carries Acana or Orijens. Their prices are pretty reasonable, and there was parking smack dab right out front! read more

What a wonderful business this is! I go to both their locations on 3rd ave and 5th ave. Everyone there is so helpful, friendly and wonderful with me and my dog. They have helped me with everything from crates to dog treats. They delivered my crate and dog bed for free and always give my dog treats when we go in. We needed a pet store closer to home and we hit the jackpot with this one. It is on our route when we walk our dog Amber and the owners are the kindest, most compassionate and helpful people we know. My dog pulls us in every walk and they give her free treats and are always suggesting stuff but are never pushy! The secret is we love going in as much as her because we are treated so well. Even if we are just picking up a rawhide they appreciate our business. They just opened another one on 5th and we even pop in that one just to say hi! read more

The only pet store I go to is Boggie Doggie - the husband and wife team behind the store is a great one. They are the nicest folks and the only place that my husband and I get pet supplies for our little feline furball. They even went out of their way to donate some food to the foster cats that fell into my lap when my neighbor suddenly passed away - not only are they nice people but they have hearts. They are good for Bay Ridge, so I would highly recommend them :) read more

I love coming to this store to buy everything for my cats. The owners are the nicest people ever. They are so attentive and friendly and really care about helping you out. They know a lot about the products they sell. Yes, the store is a bit cramped, but the service is good enough that it doesn't matter. I could probably get the articles just a dollar or two cheaper through Amazon but I'd rather support local businesses, especially with such great owners. I do think they are cheaper than bigger pet retailers. ALSO, they usually always add a free treat or toy for my cats, which is a nice gesture. When I moved here, this place wasn't my favorite. Then the owners cleaned it up, renovated it, and proved to be the friendliest pet store owners on the face of the planet. They special-order my cat litter for me and they are always extremely friendly. They remind me that they offer free delivery, but I really just can't do that to them. I can't say enough good about this place. My boyfriend and I were moving to the area, and I stopped in looking for calming treats to help my dog adjust to a new environment (he's ready a nervous Nancy of a dog). I walked in to a very warm environment, with a very nice man who knew exactly what I was looking for and was knowledgeable about his products. The prices here are reasonable and not just for Bay Ridge (where I'm noticing prices are higher than most areas in Brooklyn), but also reasonable for pet products compared to online prices. I've since been there to buy an upgraded kitty litter pan, jacket and coat for my dog, and crate bed. The two owners (a husband and wife) are so kind and helpful. When I expressed concern about fitting something for my beagle (he kind of resembles a steroid using little man because he's very fit and strong but small in stature), and the kind and sweet wife offered to let us borrow a jacket to test on him and we could just return it if it didn't fit. Same was true with her tape measure when we couldn't remember how big Whiskey's (the aforementioned beagle) cage was. I can't say enough good about this place. They will have my business not only because of their fair prices and excellent stock, but because I trust their input and appreciate the level of service they offer.
