We were a group of 14, the atmosphere is nice but the waitress was very rude to us, my roastbeef was chewy. Beef Tratar was really good.

I had the dry aged Polish ribeye with cream spinach and chanterelles . Nice wine list. I couldn't get enough. even though i was stuffed, I went with the crème brûlée, which had a nice raspberry coulis. The table next to me was a group of bankers. Kind of reflective of the vibe of the restaurant. Waiters were attentive without being disruptive. Service charge is included, but in this instance the staff deserved it.

Well, now, if you're lookin' for a place to set your tastebuds on fire and make 'em do a two-step,…read more*Butchery and Wine* in Warsaw is where you want to be. You've got a quaint little spot that's tight but right--like the perfect pair of boots. The atmosphere? It's cozy, with a dash of refinement, where aged meats sit in their little "time machines," giving you a peek at the craftsmanship that goes into each bite. And speakin' of bites, those dumplings stuffed with oxtail? Well, I reckon you could set down your knife and fork and just grab 'em with your hands, because they're that good. A whole mess of flavor wrapped in delicate dough--pure comfort with a gourmet twist. Now, the Polish beef--well, bless its heart--aged 90 days and served with a peppercorn sauce that's a little bit regular, a little bit hard-hitting. Roasted garlic alongside it? Well, you've got yourself a party. You could say it's a flavor symphony, but I'm more inclined to call it a masterpiece, painted with a little bit of heat and a whole lot of love. And don't you dare skip the Spanish Padron peppers. They're roasted just right, bringing a bit of the Mediterranean to Warsaw. If you ask me, they're like the secret song on an album--unexpected, but the kind of flavor that sticks with you long after the meal's over. Now, if you think this place isn't impressive enough, let me tell you--this restaurant holds its own against *Casa Escobar* in Antigua, Guatemala. And that, my friend, is a mighty fine compliment. As for dessert, well, when you close out with sticky toffee pudding and a 20-year-old Graham's tawny port, it's not just dessert, it's an experience. A sweet note to end on, like a perfect evening under the stars. I'll tell you one thing: this night in Warsaw will be one I'll remember fondly--like a slow dance with a glass of something smooth and a plate of something even smoother.

So this place just opened a little over a month ago and I really wanted to give them 5 stars, but I…read morecouldn't bring myself to do it and you'll see why. First off, the decor is worthy of 5 stars. Very modern and open sitting and kitchen space. It's located on the second floor with first floor patio seating outside. If you sit at the bar stools by the kitchen, you can see them cooking all of the steaks. They also have a separate bar area which is very modern. The staff were fairly attenttive. I was there when they weren't busy but it did take a few minutes for someone to see me and seat me. From there, I chose to sit at the bar stools by the kitchen and I was told I should order directly from the kitchen staff, but nobody offered to take my order. After about 15 minutes I flagged down the person who seated me and he was happy to take my order. Food took 15-20 minutes to come out and when I asked for my check, they were quick to bring it. Now on to the food and perhaps the main reason I'm giving them 4 stars. I ordered a 300g ribeye medium rare which came with a choice of a few sides so I chose the salad and grilled vegetables. As I mentioned, it came out relatively quickly and the steak looked good, but the rest left a little of an imagination. First off, you can have too many onions very easily and this place rested my steak on a bed of white onions that covered the whole plate. While they didn't appear to effect the taste of the steak too much, it was a turn off. Secondly, the grilled veggies consisted of a piece of corn on the cob, two slices of zuchini, and a piece of pepper. Not really much of a side, but it was included in the meal if you got a steak over 200g. The steak was seasoned relatively well, but it was mildly undercooked. I could have asked to have it cooked longer, but I was short on time and reheating a steak never makes it taste as great as it should. Overall, I wish this place luck and I know it will improve. I look forward to visiting again.

Back then the area was not yet as developed as today so the place was not as frequented as now but the burgers and meat was a real treat. Today we used the first sun beams and went over there for some Sunday dinner and it seems much more people appreciate the food there now. The nice terrace they offer is also bringingvtje place to its next level Here you have a real cool urban atmoshpere with open kitchen and excellent meat and burger dishes. My steak was perfectly grilled and super quality. My wife's vegetarian option was a portobello burger with the named mushroom instead of meat. It's as really tasty and in combination with the bun and other ingredients a good composition, even dough the mushroom consistency is a bit weird at the first bite if you are used to normal burger consistency. But well done. Only negative point is a bit the smell which is sill sitting in my shirt but that's the disadvantage of the open kitchen. For my taste the coleslaw was a bit to hard and the cabbage cut into too big pieces. But that's also a matter of taste. So well done guys. See you next time.

Out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by dusty old…read moretrain tracks on one side and new, empty blocks of flats on the other, lies Le Haute Stek Haus. The entire complex is built from glass and more glass and a dash of rosy hopes for a future comprised of ladies with little dogs and fat pay checks, with glossy gold iPads and a banker commercialist financier partners. On the horizen, skeletons of skyscrapers are being glued together day by day with the hard earned dollars of privateering tycoons and the sweat of underpaid construction workers. MMMM that smells good. Oh but wait what's that? It's an old communist style block of flats all orangey and decrepit. What an eyesore, but what a perfect foil. A cement reminder of times of lesser affluence, when not a single Porche was to be seen in Mokotow. Look how far we've come! Give yourself an old pat on the back. Of course the scene comes complete with its own steak house. DUH. How else will the future tennets of this up-and-coming area feed themselves? It would be like Malibu Barbie without her hot pink convertable. Unfortunately, the menu is split pretty evenly between burgers and steaks - like rich people aren't bored with the burger bonanza like EVERYONE else. YAWN. So 2013. I'm not even willing to try a burger at a place like this. Why bother. So moving on to the steak. The steak was prohibitively priced, but all steak in Warsaw is prohibitively priced. Let's put it this way - if I was willing to dish out the approximate 100 zlty it would take to get a steak and a beer in this town, I wouldn't mind doing it at a place like this. They look like the sort of establishment that sources the meat from the right place and would cook it properly, but I'm not Malibu Barbie. So I've got to skip the steak too. So why did I venture out into this no man's land of newly gentrified Warszawian captalistism when Beef Be Beyond Me? They've got Pastrami sandwhichs. Spoiler Altert: They actually did not have Pastrami that day, so I was unable to try it. So here I was all dressed up with no meat to go. I ended up with a salad and a BLT in a STEAK house. I know. Here's a tissue. The BLT at least was a double-decker affair with a wood stick and all on proper toast bread with good bacon - real American Diner Staple. The french fries were great, and the salad was middling. It had grapes, hot camembert cheese and a plum dressing so it was a bit too fruity for me. In general not bad. One intersting thing - they served Perla - Lublin Beer! I liked that. Also, they had a burger ala "Big Mac" - I'm not sure that's wise to use the quintessential burger brand of the quintessential global burger joint to peddle your own product. I'm just saying. In the end the place was really no different from the similarly named Bydlo i Poidlo place - at least there they have burgers that flirt. Yet, the overwhelming impression one gets of the place is Gentrification with a capital "G". It blurs the lines of every other sensual stimulus. By the time I was getting ready to leave, I wanted the next generation Iphone and a late from Starbucks. It took me a little while to recover.
