The gaminess of the lamb was very subtle and the flavor combined with the potato puree and marinade was delicious. The steak tartare was prepared table side and the chef asks if you want it normal, mild, or spicy. I opted for spicy which I felt wasn't any spice but nonetheless, a very tasty steak tartare. The marinated herring was so enjoyable as well. The fish was tender and the citrus profile of the sauce was a fantastic complement to the dish. The Chicken Soup was as good as chicken soup could be. Warm and savory. And finally the dessert. The fluffy meringue pie was very good as well but after a few bites, the sweetness got to me. As soon as the pizza arrived and we realized it contained pork, I immediately explained that I am Muslim and cannot eat pork. Instead of showing basic understanding or trying to resolve the issue, the only response was offering a takeaway box. I clearly said I did not want a takeaway box and asked for the pizza to be removed from the table because I did not want pork sitting in front of me. The employee then brought the box back and threw it onto our table in a disrespectful manner. We asked to speak with a manager expecting professionalism and assistance. Instead, the manager offered absolutely no solution and immediately dismissed the situation. We even asked them to check cameras or recordings if available because we felt we were not being listened to or believed. For around 20 minutes we repeatedly asked for the pizza to be removed from our table and were ignored. I was not asking for free food. I was not demanding special treatment. I was asking for basic respect and a reasonable level of customer service. As a 20-year-old customer, I was left so humiliated and distressed in public that I ended up crying. It was lunchtime so we asked for "the lunch menu". We expected the server to return with a menu with lunchtime options - but instead less than a minute later the borscht arrived. It turns out "the lunch menu" was a 3-course prix fixe option and borscht was the 1st dish. We probably wouldn't all have ordered it had we understood but it was delicious with a beautiful beet red color and a pleasantly sour flavor.
