This was our first visit to Bohemios Tapas Bar, and we picked a good day to stop by. The first weekend (Fri & Sat) of each month they have Seafood Paella, and that was what we ordered. While Bohemios is tapas, they also offer some full plate dishes such as the Paella and our other dish, Bohemios Churrasco. We definitely liked the food. The Paella had a mild familiar flavor. It could have used more seafood but for the price, I was more than satisfied. The Churrasco steak was cooked perfectly for me and their zesty chimichurri sauce made it excellent. I didn't try the side of Gallo Pinto, I don't really like most beans, but my wife seemed to enjoy it. The fried sweet plantains were delicious. Another thing I did enjoy was their Mediterranean Bruschetta, three pieces stacked high, what a great start to the meal. Bohemios is a smallish place with about 8 tables and maybe a dozen bar seats inside, a few more tables outside. Reservations are recommended. Our server was a fun, outgoing, memorable guy and we loved all our interactions. The pace of the meal was good, about 10 minutes for the Bruschetta, another 10 after we finished for the main course. We picked a bad day for only one reason, the guitar player was out with an injury. read more

Four of us tried Bohemios for the first time and everyone agreed we would go back! We started with four tapa, one with white anchovies, one with grilled octopus, and continued trying 8 tapa all together! We loved all of them and asked for more bread to clean the plates of their delicious sauces. We enjoyed Barra of Mendocino Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon which complemented all the flavors. The owner is very welcoming and very proud of his fare! And rightly so! We enjoyed learning about his roots which have influenced his cooking. Hope his restaurant thrives!! Classic Spanish guitar music playing in the background makes for a pleasant ambiance while dining on a nice selection of small dish and appetizers. I really wanted to LOVE this place BUT...it didn't meet my expectations. The food was just OK nothing to go out of your way for. Had the Lobstercargot and I was VERY disappointed...the lobster pieces had NO consistency at all, in fact the word is MUSHY as if they were or had been FROZEN (not the norm)...it came with TWO pieces of bread!!! TWO pieces for a plate of mostly broth to dunk in!...and to top it off, the waiter fumbled the plate a little and one piece fell on top of the table, AND HE PUT IT BACK ON MY PLATE! I should have asked for another darn piece of bread, but I just wanted to get it over-with, eat what I had and leave. Service was pretty good, Martin was very nice and attentive (even though he didn't replace my bread!!!) Ambience is fine, a bit loud for us because there was a birthday gathering right behind us so I can overlook the noise but, the FOOD...the FOOD did NOT make the mark. read more

Folks in the Sarasota area please check out this place. It's a hidden gem in a strip center on Clark Road. The mussels were the best I've ever had, bar none! The sauce was so unique, surprisingly sweet. All of the tapas are prepared well. Even the dressing on the house salad was different and delectable. Go there. I wish I could rate this restaurant a 4 1/2 stars because of the fine attention to culinary skill, flavor, and detail. I wanna go back and see if it does rise to 5 star status because I think it might have been some of the dishes we ordered, that I just would not have ordered on my own. We came on a Monday night and it was open! Nice quiet resultant with a extensive selection of wines. Everyone was sitting at the bar and one couple was at the tables outside. We sat at the bar and had a bottle of white wine. We ordered the lobster scargot (the sauce was divine!), mussels/clams/shrimp dish, ham croquettes, meatballs, and chilean sea bass. We finished with a round of Porto (also divine!). I wasn't a huge fan of the way the bass was cooked. I think I wouldve opted for the lamb chops but I decided to let my hunni choose. He also loves meatballs and loved the meatballs but I'm not a huge meatball fan altho I can attest that the sauce tasted very good. Loved this restaurant in a strip plaza. Our dinner guests invited us to join them and they ordered the various tapas dishes. We had the Beef Empanadas,meatballs,caprese bruschetta,bang bang shrimp and their 5j Iberian ham. Everything was delicious!! We had a pitcher of their red sangria which was very tasty. My suggestion scale back on the menu for better quality foods vs so many options. We had the assortment of bruschettas out of the 4/5 mine was the Brie cheese & prosciutto only problem none of the bread was toasted or warm. Paella is a special Fri/Sat we shared this, I personally had a few bites. Rice was super mushy reminded me of rice-a-roni it was horrible my friend/I did not even eat 1/3. We went to Bohemios for tapas and were so happy with the food and music. The tapas were incredibly flavorful and the service was great. The sauces were perfectly prepared and the portions were generous - much more so than the tapas we have in Boston! You must try the shrimp and lobster tapas dishes - all were wonderful. And don't forget to try the crema catalana - outstanding! The night was so relaxing with live acoustic guitarist Jimmy Lee who played a wide range of music from Spanish, classical and popular tunes - all beautifully performed. This place usually gets packed and loud, but luckily it was right before the holidays so it was pretty quiet this week. We love when they have live music! Our friends loved this place so much their last visit they brought us here. We didnt have a reservation and we eyeballed the available tables. There was one not marked and thats shere we sat. We were greeted by an enthusiastic gentleman. Not sure if was the owner or manager. He told us about the featured wine. So good we got two bottles. My friend kept seeing this ginormous glass this lady was drinking out of and asked our guy if she could get one. He delivered. Our only concern was that it had a chunk of glass missing on the rim . He told her to be careful. I probably wouldn't have given it to a customer. Better safe than sorry. So many amazing Tapas were going by us . The menu is a bit overwhelming, so many choices. We kind of just asked about the plates we saw. We got the Ceviche which was flavorful. It was definitely enough to share between the four of us but only had a few plantain chips n two tiny slices of bread that we each shared one piece of bread ( golf ball size) The Arepas wete to die for. Im not sure if the St. Pete one is open yet , but I recommend anyone that doesnt live near the one in SRQ , go to the new location, I'm sure you wont be disappointed read more

We enjoy the tapas mix plates which are a wonderful variety of tasty treats! So many great things in the menu. Love the lobster cargot, octopus, and the Serano ham bruschetta!. They offer a very nice selection of wines and the red and white sangria is very nice.. fresh and fruity. The service is excellent. I went to Bohemios Saturday night with a girlfriend to scout it out for my 70th birthday dinner with friends later this month. I could not have been happier with the ambiance, the food/drinks, the music, and the service. We ordered the Serrano ham bruschetta, lobstercargot, and gamba shrimp. We want to get the lambs lollipops, but it would have been too much food. All of it was delish. No complaints. We ordered the red sangria as a cocktail to start and had a white wine later. Both were wonderful. Their wine list is amazing. Manuel was our server and I can't say enough about him. He was on top of everything. The musician was background and very good. We ordered Churros for dessert and that was my least favorite part of the evening, but they weren't awful. They just didn't taste like what we had in Spain. Bottom line, my 5 girlfriends and I are going for my 70th birthday dinner on Saturday. This is a special place and I can't wait!! read more

Bohemios was so worth the 20 minute drive. We were greeted by a very nice and hospitable gentleman who we spoke to on the phone prior to driving over. He closed at 10pm and arrived around 9:40pm. He reassured us to take our time and even told us his recommendations on the menu. Needless to say, everything was DELICIOUS! I love tapas and Spanish food all together. This food was nothing short of flavorful and unique. I loved the use of plantains with the seasoned beef and sauce on top. The Brie cheese with plum glaze on top was spectacular, and the empanadas were CLASSIC and very hot and fresh! The dressing sauce served with the empanadas was amazing too. Took our reservation at the bar at Bohemio's for our first visit. Our waiter/barman Manuel was welcoming and very amiable. We chose a couple of wines from a pretty good size selection of international producers, and went to work on the tapas menu, which is also extensive. We settled on the Bohemio's Mixplate and Bohemio's Trio, principally because there was a good selection of the individual tapas in single presentations, and we were impressed and pleased!! The Mixplate was generous, varied in its contents and delicious- sweet tender calimari, tasty Mediterranean and smoked salmon bruschettas, empanadas and those delightful toquenos. And the plate was trimmed out with various hams and meats and, among a selection of cheeses, keep your tastebuds ready for the mango-ginger cheese; small pieces but gigantic in flavor. The Trio was a shellfish winner. Tender shrimp, perfectly prepared and clams and mussels in a really delicious broth. For el postre we went with the crema Catalana, with its hint of cinnamon in that smooth custard. A fine finish to a feally good meal!! As to the other part of wine and tapas, I defer to the readers palette and recommend reviewing their wine list. It is varied and very international. read more

Wow! What a joke!!! WLked up 31 mins before they closed as another couple was walking in they guy allowed them in and made the comment for you we are always open! Then told me they were closed!!! How extremely RUDE! That was straight racism!!! Then a gentleman comes out and told me maybe there is a misunderstanding and asked what he said. I shared he confirmed they were open for 30 more mins and shared he doesn't speak good English but had no problem speaking to the couple in English just fine. He genuinely apologized and shared he would let the manager know. As he was speaking to me a female employee and the man who refused me service were standing at the bar laughing staring. Myself and 2 girlfriends were on a girls trip to Sarasota and decided to go get something to eat out at 9:30pm! The ambiance and art is really cool- they had an amazing rosé and an even better tempernillo! But for me the food and the service was beyond amazing! Wow! Who knew? Passed by so many times. Located at the end of a strip mall, this is a real find! Server/owner Renaldo steered us right with a wonderful and fairly priced Zinfandel. When asked his faves, he proffered Bohemios mixed plate (2 each of several tapas), gamba scampi, lobster cargot,and croquettes, the latter being absolutely melt in your mouth! I hesitate to recommend this place cuz I want to be able to get a table (which Renaldo assured me would be saved for me. Wink wink. I hope so!) Several tables outside facing parking lot but go for the food and the delightful owner Renaldo, not the view--or eat inside. This is my new fave Sarasota restaurant. We shall return! read more

We went with friends to try the tapas selection and enjoy some of the wine selection. Our server was very nice and brought us a taste of each wine and told us about the place. It was pretty crowded, a good sign these days, and there was a singer who entertained the customers inside and outside. The selections were really good, meat balls, some croquettes, a nice ceviche and the churrasco, a big skirt steak (i think) that was super tender and delicious. The lobster-cargot was a great dish, all of this was great for sharing. Just a note, this is an incredibly noisy restaurant. Every surface, floor, walls and ceiling is shiny and polished, making an echo chamber that amplified the sound even more. I think the singer was good, but literally everyone was screaming to be heard. Some sound absorbing materials would go a long way, even curtains on the windows or something. We'd go back, but sit outside or at a quieter time. The staff is really nice, and everything we ordered was delicious! This might be the only decent tapas bar in town, worth a trip! read more

Oh, my goodness!!! We just had delivery and it was fantastic! I never get seafood delivered because it is usually terrible (cold, rubbery, etc. - your worst nightmare) but this was JUST WONDERFUL! The lobster Cardot - tender and succulent. The tuna - done very rare as specified and perfect! Loved the mushroom ravioli and tequenos, too! The gratin cauliflower was good, but we lost most of the gratin part to leakage so not a fair test - we will try it again. Can't wait to try it in person! Nice little hidden gem on Clark Rd that offers a Spanish theme. We met friends and enjoyed three hours of wine, tapas and a delightful Spanish guitar played by Jesse. The tapas were delicious - especially the octopus. The menu was not as Spanish as I would have preferred (no jamon?), but again - very tasty. My friends said the sangria was quite good and Linse and I enjoyed both European whites and reds. I would have preferred a larger selection of Spanish wines to choose from by the glass, but I could have solved that by purchasing the bottle. The service was good. Lots of recommendations from the helpful but non-intrusive proprietor and staff. My only complaint is that my water glass went empty too often and too long, a pet peave of mine. read more
