Wish I had something to say! We walked up at 830 on a Thursday with no reservation. The hostess said not a problem we can seat you, but the table is not guaranteed if a reservation shows up. So I said no problem. We sat down and waited for 25 minutes. No one came over. There were only 3 other tables full and probably 15 open ones. 3 servers stood by the bar doing nothing. One circled around us cleaning up after a group that just left which was odd that that was a priority given all the other open tables and we had not been taken care of. We got up and left. I felt invisible and not welcome. If they didn't want to serve us, the hostess just should have said no we can't seat you this evening. I always have a good time at Boho House, specially during the happy hours. This time I sampled their red pour priced at $3 and my friend har the guava margarita. The red wine was surprisingly good for that price. It was fruit straightforward with good amount of tannins and nice body. The margarita was so easy to drink, refreshing, with perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. To pair our drinks, we shared a hummus, and it was good. We went with a group of 9 for happy hour and they told us that we would only have two hours at the table, and if we went over two hours they would charge us a $75pp minimum spend. We waited outside in the road until our full party came because we didn't want our time to start too early. When we went inside, we were seated at a table too small for 9 people and the hostess reiterated the above. When I asked if we could hang out in the bar area after our two hour window she said no lol. When our server came over he reiterated all the same things, saying that we are only going to have two hours and they're going to sell our table after. Our server also tells us that after happy hour ends it is lady's night. He very aggressively adds, "DO NOT SHARE THE DRINKS WITH THE MEN OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED". Towards the end of happy hour, we were trying to flag our server down for another round for abt 5 minutes, but he came to us ONE minute after it ended. He wouldn't allow us another round on happy hour. We were very polite and just teasingly said "we were trying to get your attention earlier", and he was super snarky in his response. He was telling us how he has other tables and he's the only one in the place lol, like okay..? We really didn't care about the happy hour ending (just figured we would try to ask), but he was super defensive. Then, he tells us AGAIN in the same aggressive manner that now that it's ladies night we cannot share drinks with our male friends. (We would have never done that in the first place). To order lady's night, you have to go up to the bar even if you have a server. Our two hours go by and the place didn't end up getting busy at all. There were probably two other tables in there at the end of the night lol. Needless to say, they did not sell our table and we did not go sit somewhere else. For food, these are happy hour prices for tiny servings of mid quality food. We payed $10 for a cheese quesadilla that resembled a middle school cafeteria lunch. The ahi was also very fishy. They offered free mimosas, margaritas, wine, & shots till 12am. A small intimate place that makes you feel like you are in a tulum jungle. They usually have tribal house music which is such a vibe. I used to go here by myself all the time but now they added a new rule where each person has to spend $100 tab per person just to get inside. Even on a weekday. Before this rule, I use to go and have dinner, not looking to get drunk, maybe a glass of wine, but I feel like forcing a $100 tab pushes away single customers that want to be in and out. I'll warn you now, they give you two hours and then want you to leave because they start their evening vibe which is more club like. The food is very good. Small portions with a Miami price. To be fair the whole city overcharges for basic garbage the rest of America buys for a third of the price. But the food was very good, I believe you will enjoy the flavors. Every person at this establishment was rude as can be. We got there at 10pm on the Monday night, the place was absolutely empty except for three people at the first table. They insisted that we have to pay a $75 per person cover up front at the door. They said it was a minimum spend. But had to be paid upfront?! On a Monday?! For an empty place?! The drinks were very mediocre, the food was okay- kind of reminded me of those trendy pop ups around LA, made for presentation not taste. I came here around 6pm on an early Sunday evening. When at the door we were greeted by the hostess Olivia. She asked if we had reservations in which we did not but she was able to accommodate us anyway. So quick tip make reservations before coming and you should have no issues getting in. The place has limited seating so they strongly encourage reservations to make sure they can accommodate their guests and have priority seating which I can understand. Inside is such a cool bohemian vibe. I've been to a lot of places in Miami and there's is not one quite like this. Such an eclectic charming place. Between the furniture, tables, art work, and decor this place is so inviting. They also have a DJ playing house music which blends so well with the atmosphere. I was just taking in the tranquil atmosphere that had me feeling good. Now on weekends between 4-7PM they offer bottomless Mimosas at $25 a person. The Mimosas come in a carafe already made for you. I'm not the biggest fan of Oj so I asked if I can switch juice out for cranberry and they said no problem so just like that I had Poinsettia (cranberry and champagne). Next we ordered the food. So they offer tapas style bites ranging between $10-$15 bucks a plate. I Ordered the Ceviche, Bacon Wrapped Dates, empanadas, tacos, and beef sliders. Now nothing knocked my socks off but all the dishes were solid if I were to rate food alone I would give a 3.25/5, but you are really here for the overall vibe which is tremendous. So they are open everyday til 3 AM. So as it gets later it turns into more of a lounge. During the week they have a happy hour between 5-7PM. This was my first time coming here. This was a little hidden gem on the outskirts of wynwood. The ambience is very nice for a date night or a small gathering with friends. The reservation was quite difficult since you had to contact certain people regardless of how many people you had. The whole restaurant is outdoors which gives a nice Miami vibe and the DJ is playing good music all night. The food is quite delicious however they do come in small portions and are quite expensive. This place is a joke! I just witnessed the bouncers deny access to two people dressed very artsy/boho (I know, the joke tells itself). They were asking them to pay $100 per person or have a reservation when I was able to walk in without paying anything at all other than what I consumed inside. While stealing their visual identity from spaces like Burning Man and Bombay Beach, BOHO House will never live up to either of these events' principles, especially radical inclusion and radical self-expression. Like many other places in Miami, BOHO House uses urban and contemporary artists to elevate their interior design but denies access to the artists themselves. A Gin or Vodka martini is pure alcohol so either they mixed water and gin w/ a splash of olive juice or I don't know s**t about martini's. The olive's were tiny and old looking. (didn't complain b/c I was a guest of the DJ and wanted to show love and spend some money) I'm not cheap-a-toni, but for what I spent, I'd like to see an itemized copy, which I didn't and felt like I've been cheated into adding an extra tip (which I did). I'm a server and we handhelds as well. But I ALWAYS give them an itemized copy! It's not about the price (b/c damn near everything is pricey in Miami), it's if I got my money's worth, which I did not get.
