We had a tee time at Boise Ranch on what was a beautiful (and understandable busy) day. The course itself was in great shape, and we were enjoying our rounds . However, after the 6th holes, an employee approached us and repeatedly told us to speed up, then followed our group for a couple of holes . This was frustrating because we were already keeping pace with the group ahead of us, who were playing slowly. Golf is not an inexpensive, and experience like this take away from what should be an enjoyable day. We felt rushed and uncomfortable rather than welcomed as a paying customers. Like the course but their attention to detail is lacking. I played there last Sunday and seem to run into same issues frequently. 1. No water or towels at ball washers. 2. Food quality at turn is marginal. Was served cold hot dog last outing. 3. Tee boxes are beat up and some are too hard to punch tee in turf. 4. Rarely see Marshall monitoring/speeding up slow play 5. Brought our kids out to Boise Ranch for nine holes and left completely disappointed. We were told we had to pay for three golfers just to get two carts, even though only two of us actually golfed. They added another player to our group who was fantastic and helpful with our boys. Halfway through, an older staff member with a mustache drove up aggressively accusing us of breaking rules when we absolutely were not. He made our kids feel insecure and one didn't even want to finish. When we returned the carts, he continued to argue instead of apologizing. Golf should encourage new players -- especially kids. Sadly, this experience did the opposite. Boise Ranch needs to work on professionalism and respect toward guests. read more

So I called around to many different courses in the region and either they didn't have rental clubs or they literally just aerated or were having a tournament. Finally found this place and was about half an hour away and we gave it a shot. Course was in good shape in general even though the greens were healing from aerating. But the greens weren't bad tho. The course was super wet, like I sank a few inches into mush. So I had to watch where I was walking. People working the course were friendly and the bar was fun afterwards. I like the golf course. Interesting layout and they have greatly improved the greens and fairways. My only complaint is the service at the change over. Yesterday I wanted to get a coke. Only one person in front of me. I had a $20 in hand. My buddy went to the restroom and was surprised when he came out I was still behind the same person. The person behind the counter was relaying a story to the person in front of me, both work there. I finally put my $20 away and went out to play the back 9. Great neighborhood golf course. Generally well kept fairways. Large, sloping, challenging, quick greens. Staff is courteous and helpful. And, best of all, very affordable. Overall good experiences. Negatives: gravel cart paths; chemical toilets; no sand/seed on cart to fill divots. read more

Club got stolen and very poor customer service. When I paid for my green fees and cart, the customer service cashier seem to be irritated having to run my card and give me a piece of paper. He slapped down in front of me and turned his back as he went to go get a drink. I never said anything more except, "this is the wheeler to some and is there way we can get on earlier." My son went into use the bathroom. While he was in there somebody stole his Callaway forged iron wedge. Not a great impression for the first time my son playing at this course and the first time playing 18 holes. I ordered a drink and the lady looked at me and said "are you sure you want that?" I also stood in front of three different service ladies for about 30 seconds before one of them said, "have you been helped yet." I said "no. " The customer service here is pretty pathetic. Also, going to a golf course where I have to be careful of someone stealing my clubs is a factor on if I will continue to come. I one time went to a golf course and someone stole my rangefinder. I have yet to be back. I think that might be the same with the Boise Ranch. There are better golf courses with better customer service and without the fear of having your clubs stolen when you go to the bathroom. read more

I'm not a golfer, I'll tell you this right now. But I do drink beer, and The Boise Ranch Golf Course has a bar. This bar just so happens to have my favorite beer on tap, MacTarnahan's Amber Ale. I would give them 5 stars based on this fact alone, except that they also have fun, quick bartenders and decent bar food as well. I'm a huge fan of fry-sauce (which I've found from my travels is rarely seen outside of Idaho), and this place has some of the best. Come here if you'd like to have a good priced burger and beer, and stay to watch a Boise State game or even play some golf. If you're into that sort of thing. read more

Management is non responsive and arrogant. I pointed out that management was parking in the handicapped van loading area. I was told they were just running in and out however I had seen them parked there for as long as 4 hours. I was told I complained to much and told not to come back. I have been playing golf at this course for 20 years. When I tried talking with them I was told this is private property and they can do what they want. They owe my husband and myself f two months of season pass and cart pass. The pro shop manager refuses to call back. read more

I love this course. The holes give very good variety of challenges. Three holes were renovated and opened this week and now my review gets tricky. All three new holes are esthetic, dramatic and provide increased safety on this beautiful 18 hole course. The only complaint I have is that the par 3 , #4 hole is not friendly to medium-high handicap women golfers. The ladies' tee box is 128 yards to the center of the green, of which most is across water. Ah, the majority of us do not have that shot. We are forced to either tee off, lose a ball to the alligators, or tee off from the "drop zone," as our third shot. According to the starter in the pro shop, no changes are planned. I really hope they rethink the ladies' tee box location. read more

Boise Ranch is a local course that is steadily solid. We play here weekly and host a tournament here as well, everyone from the grounds crew, dining, pro shop, and ownership always treat us great. The course has hit a few issues this year with greens and fairways, however, it's a testament to them at how they handled it and continued to press forward. Third time is the charm!! This is the third time going here for lunch, but can't get service. Last time Penny made excuses for poor service. This time we didn't stick around. Like many others have said before me, the course here isn't bad. Nothing interesting, with basic straight forward holes and no scenery (unless you like houses), but the biggest reason to avoid this course is their staff. The guy at the check-in counter is a major jerk that has no idea what customer service is. Don't ask him for anything, because if you do, he'll spew so much passive aggressive vomit at you you'll need to take a shower. I will never play this course again. Well, played the course yesterday and it was in ok shape. Greens were aweful!! Went back today and the staff was very rude, and the general manager wasn't man enough to come out and make it right. There are plenty of other courses in town, whatever you do don't go to this course!!! read more

We had a nice time hitting a bucket of balls and spending some family time, teaching my kids about golf. I haven't been to the Boise Ranch in years. We decided to stop by and hit the driving range. Some coursed really frown when you show up with small children. Everyone here was very nice and inviting. They offered to give the kids some lessons. We didn't actually play a round, so I don't have any feedback on the course. The driving range and putting green were well kept. The prices were fine. We had a very nice time. read more
