First timer and was neither impressed nor disappointed. I ordered by drive thru as I was in a rush. I wasn't familiar with the menu so I ordered a basic 6 piece chicken nugget/tender box with fries and a biscuit. The chicken was ok. It seemed overcooked. The fries were surprisingly fresh. The biscuit still lags behind Popeyes or McDonald's - gold standards for tasty but extremely unhealthy biscuits. Overall a meh fast food stop. I didn't get sick so that's a plus. read more

Last month I ordered an eight-piece dinner for my family through the Bojangles app. When I got home, I had only one chicken breast and three wings. I guess that adds up to eight but it's certainly not what you expect. I called the restaurant to complain. The manager immediately started yelling at me calling me rude. I asked him to refund some of the money I paid but he refused. Finally I hung up. He called me back to keep yelling at me. I have been a loyal customer of Bojangles for over 40 years. Went to the other BJ's in town and they were OUT OF BONE IN CHICKEN! This Bj's had chicken but struggled a little with our order. We ordered 2 supreme combos and two sodas and only got one box and two sodas.... Go figure. Our bone in chicken was great! We had to order the other supreme at the pay window and they got it in a jiffy. But guess what... they forgot our fries!!!! The Great Fast Food Fried Chicken Taste Test Testing the fried chicken sandwiches at C'ville fast food chains. Scoring for looks, bun, juiciness, sauce, flavour, and texture! Me - 18/30 well this was unexpected. Yes presentation was, as Prue Leith would say, "rough and ready", but this was juicy without being wet. Crunchy without being toothsome. Spicy without being too hot. Was there sauce on this? Does it matter? Who expected Bojangles' fried chicken sandwich to actually be good? Particularly as this was our fifth fried chicken sandwich in two days! Could this be ... as good as ... Popeye's? Kid #1 - 14/30 with comments like "bun not horrible" and "flavour meh" and an "ummm" on the looks. But he's the outlier here. This kid has taste. But...Don't trust him on this one. The rest of us know what we tasted. Kid #2 - 65/30 just goes to show you can and can't trust a kid. He noticed the slight cajun undertone in the breading but ignored that the bun looked like it had been hit by a truck. Somehow this scored perfect in all categories, with an extra 35 points for some inexplicable reason - maybe the yellow-branded "Bo!" signs everywhere. Heck, even I wanted to lift one for home. Special note: love the flat fry shape but the cajun sprinkle not so much. So salty. Still craving water after that two weeks later. Extra special note: Thank you to the insistent and intimidating staffer that scolded kid 1 for having his laces undone and kid 2 for having one velcro strap loose and then driving it all home with a story about how she fell flat on her face when walking with her hands in her pockets and shoes untied. Maybe just maybe they'll listen to her because they don't' listen to me. Final ranking 1. Raising Cane's 2. Bojangles 3. Zaxby's 4. Cookout 5. Update 2/17/20 visit. Well, this is normally my go to spot for large orders on my site visits. Normally they take my order, smile, and knock it out with the quickness. Today, however, I'm met with a reluctant ha as I order the first 10 of V my 20 Biscuit to go order. I'm told, " it's going to take a while because today is the day other customers seem to want big orders..." At this point they had me feeling like I needed to apologize for giving them my business. Even as I waited patiently I could see the scowls on their faces as they made my order. I didn't even get a thanks for the business. But I digress. Maybe they were just having a bad day. After visiting two very poor Bojangles in the last few days leave it to this location to restore our faith in this chain. Fortunately, this particular location kicks out wonderful service and quality fast food, well at least they did when we drove through. Rather than the watered-down sweet tea we experienced in previous days the sweet tea here was legendary, like it's supposed to be. We even ordered Chicken Supremes in the morning and they cooked them for us in minutes and made sure they were juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Cheddar Bo was good, too. This was my first time at Bojangles. Went through the drive thru because the lobby was closed to all. No reason given. Staff at the drive thru mumbled and was lethargic. She was also quite disinterested in doing her job. This was at 12:30 p.m. on 9/5/21. The French fries were very good, but after hearing and reading about the place, I expected to be amazed by the chicken sandwich, but unfortunately, was not all that happy with the sandwich. Husband had literally a drop the size of a dime of Mayo. I had a slightly larger amount, about a nickels worth. My husband had one pickle slice, I had two. Chicken was okay but not great. I have had much better at KFC. I suggest going to KFC instead if you want a good chicken sandwich. read more

Bojangles staff has messed up my daughter's orders 100% of the time. We're always missing a side for her or the sandwich. Got delivery and the sandwich was missing. Ordered AGAIN and luckily I was able to connect with the driver to PLEASE check to make sure the order was correct. They had already left the store and checked them had to go back because guess what.....they had forgotten the sandwich!!! Unbelievable!! As usual; we ordered at the drive-thru window and when we got home to Lake Monticello; we noticed our order was incomplete. We we were charged for the missing items. When we tried to call the location; the line was busy for the entire day. It's very hard to complain, when you can't get thru on the phone! I tried to complain on their website, but you are not given that option. I will not go back again; to any Bojangles. I hope the company enjoys the extra few bucks they got from me!!! I finally got through to the manager. He told me that he could refund that portion of the order; if and only if, I drove back to the store and presented my receipt! First of all, the food is good which is why I was a customer of this location for 3 years. However, after my experience with the drive thru operator I will not be returning to this location. As virtually all retail/fast service problems start, I was trying to redeem a coupon and it was for a cajun fillet biscuit. I made my order the cajun fillet biscuit combo and would like to use my coupon on it to get an extra sandwich. Unfortunately, the young man working the drive through was arguing with me that it would be 3 sandwiches total. After repetitively arguing with me in the drive thru line, I feel like an idiot because how could I possibly explain it any other way? All in all, I left frustrated and sour because the person who works in a service industry was arguing with me essentially through a walkie talkie. My order was correct and what I wanted and tasted great as usual, I just miss the time when people would listen to what the customer is saying instead of arguing over an extremely simple order. read more

This place started out weak by Bojangles standards. I attributed it to it being a new location. Now they have been open for over a month and it is getting worse, not better. I could list a lot of little things but the overall theme is that the folks here just do not have the attention to detail that usually makes Bojangles a step above other fast food. This review is specifically for the new Bojangles on 3370 Seminole Trail, near the Target shopping center. On May 26, 2017 I stopped at the drive through and my receipt has the time stamp of 10:12:42 AM. I ordered a Bo-Southern Filet Biscuit (with added cheddar cheese for .65 cents), 1 medium Bo rounds and a large unsweetened tea with lemon. I found both the biscuit and the chicken to be overcooked and very dry- and there wasn't even a hit of the cheddar cheese I paid for. The Bo rounds were extremely greasy, and soaked through the cardboard sleeve and the bag within two minutes, probably less. The tea I found to be very much like Arby's tea, which is to say not good. I wound up tossing most of the chicken biscuit, the tea, and nibbled on the rounds while I drove to Chick Fil-A for a proper meal. I have tried the one on Pantops twice with equal dissatisfaction, and have since written off that establishment. Now I've written off the one on 29 just north of Charlottesville. I've visited several Bojangles in North Carolina over the years and they were all very good- but for some reason the ones in Charlottesville aren't worth a hoot. Ya want chicken? Go to Chick Fil-A. And they have excellent tea, to boot. Bojangles? Not so much. read more

However on the subject of biscuits, we found them to be not quite moist enough. Philosophically, however, there will always be a better biscuit. Today we have not found such a biscuit. The Churn Spread was WELL hench. Huge mistake. Sad! THE CHICKEN. CHICKEN requires subcategories: Flavor: we were impressed by the seasoning. 6.7/8 Bojangles is the nominal Ivy of CHICKEN restaurants. Only Ivy by name, like Cornell. Oh ye nominal Ivies! Texture: Let's talk texture. QUITE crisp. 5/8 A little heavy on the grease. Like the form and content of a Whitman poem, the texture well compliments the flavor, forming a butterfly of peng. When all is said and done, we give them a 6/8. A nice atmosphere, comforting, like home. The scent of grandma's fried chicken wafting to your nostrils like a song from the mouths of most heavenly cherubim. Our verdict? Very disappointing experience at Bojangles this morning. I brought my friend, who is from out west and thus has never had Bojangles before. I was bragging all about the biscuit and especially the fries, which I love. However, I was sad to open my chicken supreme combo to find fries that were clearly left over from last night. I won't be ordering from Bojangles again. I ordered a large order today and the didn't send all of my order. I called them and they said there was nothing could (or would) do. What a rip off! Update: changed it from 3/5 to 2/5. Long lines with one cashier and one person taking the payment? So stupid! Also, why are they training their workers during rush time like lunch? Do they not have common sense? Other places have at least 3 registers dedicated to taking orders. Unfortunately until chick fil a opens, everyone basically goes there for fast food, and they aren't even fast! ------------ It's hard to write a review on Bojangles without comparing it to KFC and Popeyes. The food is above average but I didn't think bojangles exceeded anything on their menu compared to the other places. Also it is kind of expensive compared to the other two. They have no 5 dollar deal or any deal in general that wasn't a big family sized meal. They will have to change their price to be competitive with Chickfila opening in a few weeks. They can't possibly charge almost 5 dollars for a chicken sandwich that is SMALLER and not as filling as a chick fil a sandwich which is 3 dollars. They've gotta come out with better deals if they want to attract business from KFC and popeyes. Even chick fil a. I know my coworkers and I are waiting for Chickfila to open up so we can get a cheaper meal! It's Bo time...another chicken joint. There are a lot of combinations & a bit overwhelming. We opted for strips, 2 large sides, 1/2 gallon of lemonade (came with tea) and biscuits combo. The food was good, they gave us several sauces, and the staff was helpful. If you need quick and simple and something to grab for a picnic, Bo's a good place to go ... the prices are reasonable too. The restaurant is clean as are the restrooms. read more
