We submitted a detailed shot list in advance, which the lead photographer, Lena, admitted she barely glanced at and chose to ignore. Important, personal photos we requested were completely missed--and somehow, we were blamed. Even though she admitted fault, we were told timelines were the issue. There was no accountability, and no apology. The video team missed a key moment from our reception and gave us a rushed trailer with mismatched music. When we flagged the errors (that should've been caught with a basic review), we were told we'd have to wait two more months for a revision. Absurd. We were constantly following up on every piece of this process--Photoshop edits, album corrections, video revisions. There was no quality control, no urgency, and we were the ones catching their mistakes over and over again. We even drove out to meet with them in person to get things resolved. Jovon, the owner, made a lot of promises--that we'd be made a priority, that things would be expedited. But afterward? Nothing. He called once, said he'd follow up, and then disappeared. No resolution, no genuine accountability. The admin, Lisa, was rigid with her limited schedule and not helpful when trying to coordinate team meetings. The editing team was sweet and you could tell they really cared to make us happy, but clearly inexperienced--we had to walk them through multiple corrections on video calls they'd never done before. For the price we paid, this lack of professionalism was shocking. The only bright spot was Carlos, their lead videographer. He was kind, positive, and tried his best--but unfortunately, his efforts were drowned out by the team's carelessness. In the end, we did get our final photos and videos only because we spent countless personal hours managing their process, reviewing everything ourselves, and doing the job they should have been doing. We really hate writing a review like this--especially about a family-owned business--but we gave them so many chances to make it right, and they just didn't care enough. If you're considering Jovon Photography: they will treat you like a priority until your wedding is over. After that, you'll be chasing them for months, fixing their mistakes, and left heartbroken by how little care is given to your most important memories.

I had booked Kornfeld Studios for my daughter's christening, which was highly referred by another…read morephotographer (who I won't mention here, but Marty knows who I'm talking about)who was booked on the day that I needed, so he referred me to Kornfeld Studios. I had gone down to the office where I discussed details about the event, $600.00 was the price he gave me for a couple of hrs, I didn't care about the $, I just wanted someone professional to take pictures of this important day & not have to worry about anything. We also discussed date, location of the church which was Holy Name Of Mary, Marty (the owner)who was very nice at the time, was well aware of the church & was very familiar with it, He said they've done plenty of shoots there. On the day of the christening Scott was my photographer, who arrived at 2:00 ,he asked me what I would like pictures of, I had told him most important in the church when the baby is up at the alter getting christened & when priest goes down the aisle & puts the oil on the baby forehead. Ok moving foreward, a couple of weeks go by & I now pick up my Flash drive where all my pictures were stored, as I'm viewing my pictures, all my pictures that were taken inside the church were so grainy,Fuzzy,& no matter who I showed them too everyone said the said the same thing, I couldn't believe it, they couldn't even be fixed, I was so upset! But I was trying not to think about it. I had called Marty & asked him about it, his response was "I'm looking at them now & they look clear" ok we're talking about a 95 year old man here, so I didn't want any problems I let it go. A couple of months go by & now I decide to have done of these photos printed, I go through the photos & once again I'm very upset because photos are not suppose to look like this. There were also files on my flash drive that were corrupted, so I decided to take a trip down to Kornfeld Studios with my mom & the baby to see if this could be fixed. There was a very nice kid working alongside with Marty who fixed my flash drive with the corrupted files so that was taken care of. Once again I had showed Marty the photos he said " those photos are fine" we hand out photos like that to wedding, there's nothing wrong with those photos" I mean come on really you hand out photos like that, I'm being referred by another well known photographer (that I won't put his name in this review, but Marty knows who I'm talking about)& he would never send out work looking like that, these photos couldn't even be photoshopped, my phone has taken much clearer pictures than this! I wasn't looking to argue but Marty was so rude, his response was " well what do you expect it's a dark church! First of all Marty when I booked my event with you, You were very familiar & that you've done plenty of events at Holy Name Of Mary. My two other kids were christened there & the pictures were clear, my daughter did communion back in April 2017 & the photographer that was in charge for that day took beautiful clear pictures. If that was the case Marty maybe you shouldn't of booked my event if that's how you felt, you should of never booked the job if you felt it was such a dark church & couldn't handle it, but quick to take my $, Can you believe a photographer telling me "Well what do you expect it's a dark church" you gotta laugh at this. I was so upset I told him I would never book another event with him again & he responded to me with " Good who wants you back" my response to him was but Marty I was referred to you by another photographer, you don't have to be so rude & disrespectful! I mean this is how you run a business, it's embarrassing for him & even more the other photographer who highly referred me to him. He has got to be the rudest person I have ever met! I wasn't looking to argue or get something for nothing, I paid $600.00, I wanted memories not headaches & those memories could never be fixed. I don't recommend this place, if they can't shoot in dark places then they shouldn't be in the photography business.

They exceeded expectations when I was given all my my photos! They creatively captured the beauty of every moment. They were even able to handle my mother, who was a complete MomZilla LOL, who put them in a high stress environment. They were so poised and composed the whole time. Found this VERY talented and professional group of photographers on Thumbtack when I was looking…read morefor coverage for my husband's surprise 30th birthday. Even though I only gave them a week's notice, they were able to accommodate my request and assigned a gentleman named Guy to photograph ny event. Guy was awesome! He called me a few days before the party to gather details about what I was looking for and executed my shot list perfectly. He was polite, friendly, on time and best of all has a great eye for catching special moments. Guy was also really good at gathering groups together, kind of had the personality of a good MC. He also made sure to make sure our frames were clear of nonsense (phones, tissues, bags, etc). Thank you so much Sorel and Guy for helping to capture such an important day for my family. During the event, they did their jobs without being conspicuous. I can't wait to see the finished products!!  I had worked with Jae years ago, when she took photos of my kids when they were younger, and it was great to see her again! I knew from previous experience her work excels. Russ and Mari were new to me, but were also fantastic!
