The brisket came whole so we had to cut it. Pork belly came in large bite sized pieces. Chicken came chopped per my request. Everything was sooo delicious, juicy, and flavorful. I'm not too keen on smoke flavored or dry brisket but Jim's totally changed my mind! Blew all of us away. For a party of 4 adults, this would last us 3 meals. It's still the same Golden Spoons but they have a small fridge carrying a few kokonut products (about $10/11 per jar.. too expensive imo). The folks working here are usually young high schoolers but they are always nice, polite and friendly. I've never had a bad experience here. Golden Spoons is a old classic froyo place.. nothing to dislike. :) Old spot.. clean and reliable ice cream stop after the library or korean bbq.

But holy crap, this was incredible food. First of all, they make everything from scratch, including the dough for the buns. And better yet, rather than using pyrophosphates or ammonia compounds for the leavening agent, they do it traditionally, and you can even taste it in the dough! Even a bite of the dough by itself tastes the same as when I had it in small villages all over SE Asia. Their fillings, both the meals and the desserts, are incredibly well-done. Not over or under-seasoned, with a perfect volume of filling with respect to the size of the bun. I ended up buying 5 buns, since I was only in San Diego for a few days this time around.
