Update: The management's response is a case in point that they lack accountability and prefer to blame the customer. During our phone call, I was asked to remove this review, which I believe is against Yelp policy. Furthermore, if I were truly the one causing "distress," I would not have been seeing my regular stylist, Vari, at this same salon biweekly for over three years (more than 72 visits!). My only regret is contributing close to $10k to their revenue when management lacks basic customer service and accountability. I used to be a regular customer at this salon, contributing thousands of dollars in revenue each month. However, I had a very disappointing experience with hairstylist Roop Singh when my regular stylist was unavailable. He did not honor my appointment and instead prioritized walk-ins at his own discretion. When I raised the issue with the owner, Roop responded with significant verbal abuse and publicly humiliated me, telling me not to return. This behavior was deeply unprofessional, unacceptable, and unheard of in the United States. I left a review suggesting the owner examine the video footage of this incident and take appropriate action--including training for all associates, especially new hires from abroad who may not yet be familiar with U.S. customer service expectations. Instead of taking accountability for their employee's behavior, the owner began shaming and blaming me in our next interaction and pressuring me to remove the one-star review they rightly deserve. How you react to customer reviews is a true sign of your openness to learning; unfortunately, this response showed a lack of growth mindset and the humility to accept and take action on genuine mistakes. read more

Two of us went there for a pedicure today at 4.30pm and tried the gel pedicure. First off, the person who did the pedicure had no idea how to parallel my do it for two of us. He did the pedicure for me first (took an hour) and then did it for my friend. Over 2 hours for pedicure. We were done at 7.15pm!!! The quality of the pedicure was definitely bad. He was clearly struggling with the gel and applying the nail color too. It was quite a shoddy job. And on top of it, the so-called gel color which supposedly is long lasting didn't even last 3 hours!! The color on one of the toes has come off completely! Very poor quality! read more

I've been going to this salon for the past four years for my annual haircut. The first three times were great. The salon itself has a calming atmosphere. This time however was a different person and she left a whole chunk of my hair uncut. I asked for bangs that went down to my eyebrows but she cut them way higher up. When I'm trimming my own bangs wet I keep in mind that they'll spring back when dry so I cut lower but I don't think she took this into account. Now I have sections of my bangs that stop in the middle of my forehead and chunks that go down past my eye. read more

I used to get my eyebrows threaded here because it was convenient until the wait times started becoming longer even w/an appt., and also when I noticed the employees did not wash their hands prior to working on clients. One time the asst. sneezed and still continued threading my brows, WTH (really, you're working on my face)! There are a few ladies here that I loved did my brows but each time I returned it would be a new employee so it's always hit or miss. In the beginning, Rita would always push me to cut or color my hair but I kindly told her that I wasn't there for those services so after a few visits she finally stopped asking. Do not give your face to this place especially if Rita or Raj are not there. Mona ruined my eyebrows. She trimmed carelessly and not only are the two brows different, one is lopsided too. I dont want to be mean, but i'm seriously not happy. I got my eyebrows, lip, and chin threaded. $18 and i still tipped her $2. Quick, but she accidently cut the side of my mouth. I mean i've gotten cut before by my regular lady, so i guess it's common? Regardless, it still hurts! But my eyebrows, she didnt shape them very well. They're just not proportional. This place doesn't even deserve one star. I came here to get my eyebrows done a few times. The first time a few months back, this one girl made my eyebrows stick thin, it was also VERY painful. Today a Persian lady name sanaz did my eyebrows, and she threaded my Eye lashes as well. This place is horrible. I went to almost every girl that threads here, and none of them are good. I rate this place a 0. I'm never coming here again. There's a place called image salon across the street, and an Asian lady named Anne does an amazing job. I have visited this place after reading reviews on yelp and sticking with her. However, you need to choose what things you get done at her salon. Like many others here, I feel Rita is very good, but not the others. So in all possibility try to get her to do your work :-) Now let me rate her on the works: a. Rita's beauty salon is the best in town for threading (I haven't done other services)....I highly, highly recommend. To put this in perspective, let's first look at the competition (*cough* Khoobsurat)....places like that run a factory, have no value for customer relationships, and treat their workers terribly. I mean, why should I PAY to be disrespected and judged for my outfit while people talk smack about me in Punjabi (Hint: I can understand you) 180 degrees away, you'll find Rita's salon. Low-key, quiet, and hidden away behind the gas station, I'm really happy to have found this little spot. I've had a few different ladies who have done my eyebrows, and all of them have been extremely talented...no cuts and fantastic shaping. Although there are plenty of places that do eyebrows closer to where I live, Rita's is worth the trek. Eyebrows are $8 (great price) and they accept walk-ins. I've been to Rita's about 4-5 times for eyebrow threading only. I always call in advance to make an appointment but she is very accommodating in seeing me promptly. Rita does a great job with eyebrows. For $8 + tip, I think this is a great place. I took off a star because the last few times I went, a younger woman did my eyebrows and I did not like them as much. My eyebrows just looked a little off. I usually go in the mornings and Rita is not there so maybe next time I'll try to go in the afternoon and hope she will be there to take care of my eyebrows . read more

I can't recommend it. I got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded, and while the price was good, ($13 altogether, comparable or lower than other places I've been) I wish I'd gone somewhere else. The girl who did the work was pleasant, but I don't think the place is run with proper standards of hygiene. I shouldn't have taken her offer of soothing lotion, because she hadn't washed her hands and I got pimples. I also noticed the scissors she used to trim my eyebrows weren't disinfected like I've seen elsewhere. It's one thing to get what you pay for, but this is less than that. :\ read more

Eyebrow threading was excellent! It was gentle but thorough and the lady had me check the mirror after she was done with each brow to make sure I was pleased. I'm very happy with how my brows turned out. I also had my upper lip threaded and the total was only $13! The lady seemed like she couldn't understand english well but Rita was there and was able to translate so there were no issues. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon with no appointment, was greeted politely and only waited maybe 5 minutes. They accept card, which is nice, but they said they prefer cash of course. I used Yelp to find a good threader in Sunnyvale and once again - Yelp did the job and then some! I called Rita at 5:00p.m. to inquire if she'd take me the same evening at 6:45p.m. She (picked up the phone right away) was kind and scheduled me. I even arrived fifteen minutes early (unpredictable traffic don't you know) and she accommodated me early! Rita has a warm, welcoming and kind demeanor coupled with precise talent. She did a great job on my brows! I highly recommend Rita! Please note: She just bought Juno Salon at 616 Hollenbeck Ave., and there was a bit of construction in back which she kindly apologized for. I've been coming to Rita's Beauty Salon for about two years now, and I have yet to be disappointed. She knows exactly how to shape every type of eyebrow (I've come in with my two sisters who also love her) without leaving your eyebrows too thin (as many places I've gone to get my eyebrows waxed have done). I've only ever gotten my eyebrows threaded, but I often see people get their upper lip and other various places threaded. The prices are GREAT! Only $8 for eyebrow threading, which is a steal considering I went out on a limb and tried a place that was closer to my home in Palo Alto and it was twice the price and much worse! Rita herself doesn't exactly come across and the nicest person ever, but she means well, and definitely does her job well (and that's what counts most, right?). I usually call in to make an "appointment" about 20 minutes before I want to come in and she's always available. Down sides: 1. Sometimes Rita seems like she's in a rush and ends up leaving some stray hairs. If you notice this, make sure to just let her know and she'll fix it for you without question. 2. Out of the dozens of times I've been, ONE time I had someone do my eyebrows besides Rita, and I didn't like it nearly as much. I have been using this salon for eyebrow threading from last 6-7 months and they do a fine job if they follow instructions from customer well. It's strange that every time you go there they have a different person to do your threading. I used their arm wax service twice and again, there were different people (both times) who did the job. First time it was okay but second time waxing it was painful. They kept talking the whole time and they were so rough and in rush to finish the job. They also gave me three bruises on my upper arms. They did put some oil and cooling lotion to make me feel better but i did not feel better. And then one of them (older and senior) started telling me that my skin is very very sensitive and I should mention that in salon's so it won't happen again. I told her that my first experience was with Rita and some helper went really well and i didnt get any bruises. I also told her if I would have known that I was gonna get bruised ; I would have never come back. Anyways for threading its okay because they don't charge much but for other services i highly doubt. I have been going here for almost 5 years for eyebrows and upperlips. I have tried them for waxing once or twice. But this is my only go-to place for threading. Raj does a great job threading and gives really nice shape to the eye brows. She is very polite and listens to you very patiently. I have had great experience with her for waxing as well. Rita is great she always makes sure every client is taken good care of. She is pretty social and would also make you feel good everytime you visit her. I totally recommend going to this salon specially for waxing and eyebrows. I have tried them for pedicure and manicure but i think the lady who did to me doesnt work here any more. But she did a great job as well.. Finding parking is easy. They have around 8-10 spots outside the salon which is shared but i have never faced any issue finding the parking. I generally go to Rita's for quick walk-in eyebrows and I have had mostly good experience except for one time when I got really bad cuts because it was done by some newbie. However, She shaped them perfectly. The best experience so far has been with Raj. Raj is really quick with eyebrows and she knows how to shape them according to my request.
