When I got there, we discussed what kind of haircut I wanted and she was very helpful with her suggestions; I was looking for a Korean-style haircut with long layers with face-framing. She is also very knowledgable about trending styles, since she's studied/practiced in Vietnam and Korea before. She did a great job with my haircut and made it feel super light and healthy, perfect timing right before summer. Yeye is a really good hair stylist and it shows! She understands what haircuts will suit you well and she isn't afraid to tell you her recommendations. I've seen her twice now: the first time was in November of 2024, and the second time was recently. The first time I saw her I got a short haircut and I was nervous about whether or not it would suit me as I've had long hair for the majority of my life. However, she reassured me that she wouldn't agree to the haircut if she didn't think it would suit me. In the end I was very happy and satisfied! She also helped thin out my hair as I had told her that my hair was feeling very dense and heavy. She's extremely knowledgeable and could tell that I had cut my own bangs haha. This second time I saw her I actually hadn't had a haircut since my first visit so it had grown out quite a bit. I came to Yeye quite some time ago -- I was so excited to see a salon providing color analysis services in the area! It seems to be very on trend right now, and I was determined to polish my personal style. Also, you can bring a friend for a 2-person session! Yeye is very good at giving her honest opinion so.. don't come if you're not ready for honesty. She showed me colors I look best in, as well as colors that are not my best. At first I thought the analysis would only include color draping but she truly went above and beyond. She even told me what hairstyles would suit my face shape best, and what hair colors to go for. The whole process was thorough -- she even did an analysis of my makeup and was determined to find a lip shade that suited my complexion, which is something even I have been struggling with since I started wearing makeup. Yeye also gave me clothing recommendations such as neckline styles that would suit me. The experience felt personalized and I have incorporated her advice into my shopping habits even months later. Babylight bleach turned out with very dark brown color + severely damaged hair with significantly breakage. I booked bleach service and wanted a milk tea color like the inspo photo but turned out the final color was way darker than I wanted. The final color is almost like my natural black hair color. When I asked about the color during the session, the main stylist claimed that the color will fades overtime and become lighter after washing. However, it is not the color I originally wanted and requested. After several washes, my hair color still looks like a very dark brown and is definitely a lot darker than the inspo photo I originally showed to the main stylist. Furthermore, my hair is severely damaged. After washing my hair at home, I noticed a lot of breakage and frizzle. My hair feels dry, fuzzy, and brittle with no elasticity when wet. I've been bleaching my hair for several years and am familiar with how it should feel post-treatment, and this is by far the most damaged it has ever been. I suspect the use of extra heat during the accelerated bleaching process contributed to the damage. What's more troubling is that the stylist didn't inform me of any damage during the appointment. Instead, they used a curling iron to style my hair, which likely worsened the condition, and offered a "free haircut" to trim the uneven, damaged ends--something I now believe was done to cover up the breakage and damage without directly addressing it because I just had a haircut with the exact same stylist 3 weeks ago. Not only did I leave without the color I wanted, but my hair is now severely damaged, uneven, and broken in multiple places. It doesn't even look like it was professionally bleached or dyed. This babylight bleach + tips is $500+ I am always willing to pay for quality work, but I am extremely disappointed in both the outcome and the lack of transparency during the process. I feel that my concerns were not properly acknowledged, and the attempt to conceal the damage without honest communication has left me very unsatisfied. read more

I had previously bleached my hair somewhere else and the roots eventually grew out. Instead of doing my roots again I wanted to go back to dark hair. Before Yeye, I went to another salon and they made my hair ash toned ... Which washed out in a week....By then, I had blueish /green/ gray/blonde tinted color AND my roots were still showing ... Yuck! I was looking for a natural / cool chocolate brown hair color that would blend on my roots and Yeye didn't disappoint. The entire process took 2 hours. This included cutting, coloring, washing, drying, and styling the hair. When another customer came in I liked that Yeye didn't rush the process or rush me out. I loved the results. I was excited to learn Yeye offers personal color analysis in the Bay Area and immediately scheduled! We started the session by determining whether I'm cool or warm tone before moving onto seasons. Yeye was thorough and explained how certain colors accentuated or blurred my problem areas (ex. dark circles, redness, fine lines). After exploring all the various shades of colors, we concluded true spring as my best color (with autumn coming second). Once we determined my personal color, we dived into makeup and styling. Based on my results, Yeye recommended styling ideas such as floral patterns and different fabrics based on my medium/high contrast. I brought my makeup to compare with the results, and luckily I already had some warm-toned makeup that fits my color profile. Yeye also had some lipsticks, blushes and eyeshadow for me to try, based on my results. I looooove my cut and root touch up from Yeye! I took a chance and yelped a local salon and so glad I did. I told Yeye that I didn't want to cut much length but have long, blended layers with curtain bangs and she did exactly that. I was able to book my appt online, but slots filled fast so I could reschedule too if needed. I love my layers and they are nicely blended now because they were a bit choppy before. The best part is that my hair still looks stylish even when it's just down and straight because of how the cut is. Went to Yeye beauty salon for a cut and color and I couldn't be happier! I texted her in advance with a picture of my current hair and my desired color, which was a light brown. I told her that I didn't want to bleach my hair since I wanted to avoid the maintenance of bleached hair. She was quick to reply and was also transparent that she thought it wouldn't be able to go that light without bleach, but she will try. In the end she was able to get the color I wanted, and also did my brows so they could match. I'm SO happy I found a salon that is close to me and I can trust with my cut and color. Yeye has really great attention to detail and I feel like the brown she chose really matched me well. I was very excited to learn that Yeye was going to a personal color training program in Korea and was going to offer that service. Got the analysis done today and it was such a fun session. I tried a few hairdressers before coming to Yeye but the cut always disappointed me, either the layers were choppy and uneven (fancy and expensive salon in the city), or it was too layered and became piecey and tangled (Japanese Salon in South Bay). I got my color analysis done for the first time and had questions ready because I've been curious for a while. Came with the goal of finding best suiting makeup for me since I've been struggling with finding lip colors I like. Yeye was super sweet and had snacks on hand to welcome me. She then explained the process throughout the whole thing. It was very helpful because sometimes it's hard to tell the difference when comparing very close colors on your skin but if you ask which parts to pay attention to, she'll point out those parts so you can understand better why she suggested the colors and think it works for you more. After the color analysis, she gives you a pdf and sits down with you to explain outfit, hair color, jewelry, makeup options and also ask what your current wardrobe looks like in comparison to what she suggested. She then suggests make up options and colors you can test out in the salon but also wants to compare it to the makeup you use daily to understand better what your preference is and work with what she chose for you. She also provides you with the best color option and the second best so you aren't limited to one, but she explains the difference between the two options so you understand how the two options affect how you look. Overall , I really enjoyed the experience and it was a very fun time. I received tips from her I never thought off and helped me find my perfect lip color too!
