Really wanted to like these guys. Being a local, I've seen them around "forever". Had a unique situation (an extra-thick entry door), and the standard deadbolt from Schlage that I can usually install myself wouldn't work. Plus I needed everything re-keyed, so I figured I would just have them handle everything. So I went in, talked with the guy behind the counter, who was great, and had it all set up. Lock had to be ordered; work would be done a few days later. This is where is goes downhill. Young guy sent to do the install was a disaster. Pretty much did everything wrong. Kicker was installing the deadbolt without the "safety plate" behind the trim plate in the door jamb. That's kind of the whole point of having a deadbolt; otherwise, with just the trim plate, the door can be easily kicked-in. When I caught it, he said he would do it, "but we typically never install that". Huh??? All the other problems with the visit I'll spare you. Bottom line: there are "real" locksmiths out there, tradespeople who take pride in doing a professional job. That's who you want to work with, not these guys. read more

Poor reviews are never fun to do, but in this case I must give Bomac a fail. I am caring for my elderly in-laws and 2 months ago I called to have the entry door handle to their home replaced or repaired. The handle is a part of a, 40+ years old ornate, hardware system. The Bomac repair person could not repair it fully, and said it was cost prohibitive to replace it. When asked what was cost prohibitive, I was given an estimate of $1000+. So, the knob was just stuck back no better then I had done it myself, except there was charge a $30+. The knob was not repaired and shortly afterwards I left town for a few weeks and the knob came off again. I called again and I was told the knob can only be stuck back on and they would do it monthly, if need be. I was told a tech would back to me with other options. The tech called and informed me he would think of a less expensive options, and I was to give him until the weekend to give me another estimate for a replacement. Meanwhile, I went to Ace hardware and was referred to Rex Lock and Safe in concord to look for the parts. I called and was asked to bring the hardware in. The locksmith Craig, asked why did i drive from Lafayette when Bomac was so close? I wanted to say "I had a 1000 reasons", but instead left it at "annoyed". Craig was up front about the repair and made no guarantee that he could repair the handle. Less than 24 hrs later he called and informed me the lock mechanism was never repaired. He reported that the interior of the lock had not been taken apart or repaired which is why the knob fell off again. So Instead of paying between $400 & $1000, the front door has the same ornate door lock that is just as solid and steady as before for a whopping $30. Lesson learned... always get a second opinion even if you have to drive a few extra miles. Thanks to Rex Lock and Safe for saving me hundreds of dollars. read more

So one week into my teenager getting his driver's license he locked his keys in his truck at his high school. The dreaded call came into me as I am at work in the city. Had a front door problem , explained it to Alan and showed pictures of the hardware talked about options and decided to do it ourselves with the part from Bomac's. went to my Dad's, grid it and called Alan and decided to bring all the hardware to them. Upon our return Alan looked at it and worked on it and was able to make it work (lots of oil) we took it back, installed it and voila, it fit and works perfectly!! This company sucks. They had one of their vans parked in the only handicapped parking space in a parking lot in WC. I needed that parking space as I had a passenger who was handicapped. My passenger needed that space as she uses a walker to get herself out of the car and to transfer into a wheelchair. The worker did not need to park there as he was not handicapped. He only parked there as it was close to his work space. The van was there a long time. He could have parked on the street closer to the business that he was working at. Very inconsiderate. Do not use this company. Use another company. Use King's Locksmith. They are great. I have used them before. read more

Great customer service. I was locked out with my dogs and grandson after a weekend away. Left a message at 6:30 a.m. Within two minutes of their stated opening hours someone phoned me and told me they would have someone there in 15-20 mins. I had a lock improperly installed (unbeknownst to me) and it failed. Bomac's helped identify the problem and came back 3 TIMES given different parts were needed due to errors in the order by the door company. Even though it was completely out of their control, the Bomac's team did not charge for the first 2 visits! They even helped me try to get reimbursed by the initial contractor who installed it. They were professional and on time. Alan was very patient and kind to deal with. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone! read more

I was a fan of Bomac's until today. I own a local property management company and am the immediate past president of a local chamber of commerce. I was using Bomac's to make keys for all the properties I manage. I asked them one time if I could open an account so that my employees could also come make keys and bring me an invoice. They said they dont do accounts. Today while I was waiting for some keys a guy from WC Ford walked in, picked up a lock and was given an invoice for his account. I asked the clerk, how do I get an account and he said "Turn yourself into WC Ford". As a small business owner and as the president of a chamber that represents many small businesses, this was a huge slap in the face. These guys seem to be a small business themselves, but maybe are so successful they have no love for the rest of us. Maybe all the $3 keys I am having made don't mean much to them, so I guess they wont miss them because that will be the last time I go there. read more

We needed to get keys made for a door that had a lock, but no keys. I researched on Yelp and on the BBB website and found Bomac's, who have been around since 1947 and are A+ accredited with the BBB. When I called them, they quoted me $120 plus a $3 charge per key made (roughly the same as other places I called), but he also told me that if I can remove the lock and bring it in, it would only cost $21, plus the key charge! No other place mentioned that as an option. So for $27, I got what I needed and saved $100 in the process! Fantastic service...and they called when it was done. read more

This is my first yelp review and the first time I have felt inspired to write one. I called Bomac a couple of weeks ago and scheduled a visit for a locksmith to come to my new home and look at a lock on one of my sliding doors that was stuck. The men that came to look at the problem not only arrived an hour late but were somewhat rude and they smelled like an ashtray. It was pretty bad. They looked at my door and told me they were unable to fix it because they had to order a part. They said they would get back to me as soon as they located the part. Well, I waited 1 week and called back to follow up on the status of the new part. I never received a call back. So I called Danville locksmiths this morning (got tired of living with a locked door for 2 weeks). Danville locksmiths dispatched someone to my home within 20 minutes and he fixed my door in 15 minutes without having to order any new parts. Not only did they fix my door but the man was friendly, knowledgable and clean. I do not recommend Bomac and sadly will never call them for service again. read more
