Okay look. We gotta talk. I live 2 minutes from this place. I could throw a stone and hit it. I have lived 2 mins from this place for TEN YEARS!!!!! And one of my life's biggest regrets will absolutely be that I didn't spend my last 10 years eating here. The food is MIND BLOWING!!! Mind blowing. Their combo meals are a variety girlies dream. You get to choose 3 curry's and they're perfectly portioned. So far I've had (and I'm rating them from my fav fav fav down to my also fav but maybe just a tiny bit less fav) Aloo vindaloo Paneer karahi Chicken korma Chicken Tikkka Masala Oh and Don't sleep on the onion naan. Don't sleep at all. Ever. Just stay awake and eat here for the rest of your lives. And while I have heavily spoken of the food, the place itself is convenient with a giant parking lot. It's adorable. I came here for dinner with friends on a Wednesday evening, and it was not busy. We started with the Fried Garlic Cauliflower, which was a letdown for me (2/5). It lacked flavor and was slightly soggy. For my main dish, I ordered the Goa Style Garlic Chicken. It came with rice, cabbage, and naan bread, and I upgraded to the garlic naan. The chicken was breaded and served with a spicy garlic dipping sauce, which I enjoyed (4/5). The garlic naan had a pleasant garlic flavor, though it didn't stand out too much (3/5). My lady and I went there for lunch today since we happened to be in the area. Don't let the fact that it is a small restaurant in an open mall food "court" keep you from trying it. When we were there, the place wasn't crowded and the service was excellent. Our meal started with a shared order of the Meat Samosas. They are large and flavorful without being overly greasy. The filling is tasty and the wrapper has a satisfying crispness. We both decided on the Kheema Sali (which does not appear on the website's menu) from the Bombay Bites section. They are a new addition and one I hope becomes permanent. These are the Indian version of build-it-yourself sliders and, in both our opinions, are excellent: 2 large toasted slider buns and far more than enough filling to build more. Everything was properly prepared with the right hint of spicy and interwoven flavors that makes Indian food so good (when it's done right). I'm sure we will be back next time we are in the area around lunchtime. read more

Paneer mango masala was amazing I've never seen this anywhere else I am so grateful we got to try this here!! If you prefer to add some spice there is an orange sauce that will give your tastebuds a nice kick. Love that the garlic naan has freshly chopped garlic. read more

Right when I walked in the gentleman who was up front was warm and welcoming. He helped me switch up what I usually get and it was SO tasty and fresh. I ended up getting the chicken biryani as well as the roasted red pepper hummus that came with garlic naan. Both of them were so so good and full of flavor, not the mention the portion size was plenty. I usually leave full with some naan to munch on later in the day. Unlike other restaurants I have tried, their lunch special is 3 different entrees, rice, and naan. Most places I have tried only offer 2 entrees with their lunch special. The entree options include both vegan and not-vegan. Non-vegan dishes are mostly chicken but offer one lamb dish. The portions are of decent size. Indoor and outdoor dining are available. Service is good. Located in the Clairmont Mesa Mall, plenty of parking is available. OMG!!!! this place is a gem!!! We have been going to the square to eat but never tried this place, what a mistake. The food was absolutely delicious, it was almost plate licking good!!! I had the special Malal Chicken Curry, it was so good, My partner had the Chicken Tikka Masala and she agreed also that it was sooo good. There was some bread served with both meals and they were to die for!!! The wait staff was attentive, we were checked on many times and asked if we needed anything. They offer outside and inside seating. We chose outside, they do have heaters if needed. Beware the serve some domestic beer and import, to include wine. We had a glass of Pinot Grigio and White Zinfandel. They also offer Military discount!!! We LOVE Bombay Coast for many reasons. The owner, Zubin, is so welcoming and kind. The food is delicious. Our go to items are the lamb korma, chicken tikka masala, and mango chicken masala. Most recently we tried the veg samosa chaat which was so flavorful. We often do takeout at Bombay Coast, but don't sleep on the opportunity to dine in or on the patio, which is dog friendly. I'm so excited, while I will certainly make a drive for some good Indian Food - I recently discovered a close and delicious option. While hitting up the Clairemont Square with my wife we made a solid decision - we dinned at Bombay Coast. One of the best decisions for dinner as it's now one our regular routines. The atmosphere is always comfortable. Both indoor and outdoors. While the outdoor dinning is nice and there is a heating lamp. I would recommend indoor dinning during the colder months. We've had some wonderful dinners here. The staff is always helpful - and seems to always go the extra mile. My wife usually gets the Chicken Yellow Curry and I go with the Chicken Tiki Masala with Garlic Naan Bread. So many flavors and the spice levels are always perfect. I would totally recommend hitting up Bombay Coast - the Garlic Naan is a must. read more

Happen to check out their Bombay section of the menu and it got me curious! I've eaten a decent vada pav in the US and am always on a search for a good one but a good pav bhaji has always evaded me! Till now! This is a review of only the stuff I ate - which is not typical Indian restaurant in the US stuff. I'll definitely go back to have some entrees and update the review then. Kheema pav - Damn near perfect. The touch with the sali gives you a nostalgic trip to an irani cafe in Bombay. Vada Pav - Almost as good as ive eaten in this country. One suggestion to elevate it is adding the powdered garlic chutney to it! Wanted to get some from home and add it to make it perfect! Pav bhaji - After a long time I got something that resembles the Bombay pav bhaji in look and taste. We ordered it medium but it was decently spicy. The pavs were also toasted and buttered to perfection. Id gladly come back to this place once in a while just for these 3 but I'm very curious now about the rest of their menu especially since there are very atypical options compared to the typical Indian restaurant. read more

Bland and Americanized food. I couldn't tell one dish from the other in terms of flavor. Seriously. I had the three item combo with saag paneer, butter chicken and some lamb dish. It's clear the naan is not homemade and the raita tasted like they took vanilla yogurt and watered it down. Even their chutneys were bland. The nice woman up front helped me place my order since it was my first time and I'm not too familiar with Indian cuisine. She was patient and took her time explaining the different dishes. This time I came for dinner at 8pm on a Saturday and got: Ginger chicken: really nice and fresh taste. A bit sweet but not too sweet. Comes with plain naan and rice and small salad. Cucumber yogurt: I ordered this to balance the heat and spice level. The yogurt has onion too. Mango lassi: Not overly sweet which is rare! Thank you. The place is simple and welcoming. Not dressy, but also not loud. I always feel relaxed. The owner and rest of staff are very kind and friendly. Food took about 10 minutes. Not bad at all for a Saturday night.
