Honestly, such a peaceful spot with a view. Servers were great, and food was immaculate. Huevos Rancheros were a TOTAL win. The other dish was fresh and lightly sweetened, not bad! (Took my mom here to visit SD, had a beautiful view of the San Diego Bay, ended our last day with a tour on the bay (City Cruise) and could see Malibu Farms from the tour! Pro tip for a full circle moment!)
Loved eating here in the open air and ocean beauty. The food is fresh and vibrant. The service was attentive and cheerful. I had the taco trio and tried 3 different ones. My plate was absolutely beautiful! Will return next time we are in SD!
This place is a must visit. For starters, easy parking. It's also at a prime location where you can walk around, do a little shopping, and view the water. We had a small wait time but since it's in a prime location, we walked around taking in the views and the time went by so fast. Now about the restaurant itself, fantastic. The service was so friendly. They communicated clearly on wait times, got you in as quick as possible, checked in on your table, and made sure everything was go your liking. I even saw people ask to change where they were sitting to get a better view of the water and they were so accommodating. The food was insanely fresh! You can tell everything here was made with love and care. They went above and beyond to get their ingredients and also deliver on flavors. The price was extremely reasonable. They had a great selection of options where everyone in your party can get what they want. I will absolutely be stopping here every time I'm in the area. Highly recommend!
If I could give Malibu Farm 100 stars I would!! This review is specifically regarding the event space and experience downstairs at the restaurant for our wedding!!! From the moment we toured Malibu Farm, we knew it was the perfect place to host our wedding. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and has so much character. It has such a unique "San Diego" feel, and being right on the water created the most beautiful backdrop for our day. It truly felt like the perfect setting for such a special celebration. While the beauty of the space downstairs was a huge part of why we chose it, the service is what truly exceeded our expectations. We honestly don't think we have ever experienced better service at an event. From cocktail hour to dinner to the open bar throughout the evening, every detail was handled with so much care and professionalism. Our guests could not stop talking about how incredible the service was and how well taken care of they felt. The food was also absolutely phenomenal--so many guests told us it was some of the best wedding food they've ever had, and we couldn't agree more. Riley was amazing to work with throughout the entire planning process. She was responsive, helpful, and such a great partner in bringing our vision to life. She worked seamlessly with our wedding planner and made sure we felt supported every step of the way. Her attention to detail and willingness to help made the planning process feel smooth and stress-free. We are so grateful we chose Malibu Farm San Diego for our wedding. The combination of the beautiful waterfront setting, incredible food, exceptional service, and an amazing team made our day everything we hoped it would be. We would highly recommend this venue for weddings or any special event--we truly could not have asked for a better experience.
I can't anything specifically bad, but it does seem overpriced for what it is. The food was great and my blackened shrimp tacos were flavorful, but considering the price tag, it felt a little over the top. The coconut ceviche was also really great and fresh. The view of Coronado and the bay were stunning. The service was good as well, just a little slow at times. Everyone enjoyed the meal a lot, and I'd come back maybe for some drinks and apps.

DO NOT QUESTION. JUST GO! I have been dying to go after seeing videos online, and I finally made it on over. It is a gorgeous restaurant with some of the tastiest food options. There are so many items on the menu I want to try. When you are sitting at your table, you can't help but look at everyone's dishes. Every dish they bring out looks amazing. The portions are much larger than I expected, and every bite is full of flavor. We tried the green egg scramble, their nachos with avocado, and their burger. Every dish I would get again. The nachos are a bit pricey, which can turn you away (adding avocado and making them beefy can add up to 12 dollars to your nachos); however, these nachos were some of the best I have had. Every item is SOOOOOO FRESH, which makes a huge difference. I did get an iced spiced chai latte, and wish it had a little bit more flavor, but next time I am interested in seeing if their hot is better. We also got a lemon lime soda, and it was decent but the complaint again was we wish it had a little bit more flavor. Our server, Austin, was so kind and was constantly checking in on us. He also made it a nice experience for us. Lastly, We walked up close to 11am and we were seated right away (2 in our party). If we wanted outside seating we would have had to wait 15 minutes, but the inside seating and the concept practically makes it feel like the inside is outside, too! Looks are very deceiving, because this place is GINORMOUS! So, don't be afraid to go check in out even on a busy day!
Great rooftop above the harbor! I've only been to the Newport Beach location, so I was excited to see this was near by. We came here primarily because we were looking for a drink during happy hour. We both ordered a Biscoff Martini. These were great! The regular menu looked great as well. A lot of seasonal cocktail options that I would love to go back and try. This location had a coffee/ice cream area downstairs, an indoor bar on that same floor, and then another outdoor bar on the roof. Very spacious!
I can't believe it took this long for me to go here. My GF friends tell me that they have never been glutened there and I also experienced safe eating! We were a group of 7 and we had a reservation. We were lead to a table with a brilliant view but smack in the sun. We asked for a table inside and they were super helpful. We started with the cauliflower crust pizza and the hummus plate. The olives with the hummus plate were next level. Sweet, spicy and salty. You can get a big bowl to yourself for $6! The food was all excellent. Except for my catch of the day. The fish itself was super fresh and yummy. But it sat on a carrot puree that was not the best side for the fish. Side note. I originally ordered the scallops and they told me that the scallops were too small and would I like a side with that. Free? Extra charge? They didn't say and I don't want to risk it. Maybe say the sides are included if you got smaller than expected scallops. I'll be back to try other items for sure.
Got thirsty while I was in Seaport Village and decided to stop in. It was a Wednesday and unfortunately their happy hour didn't start until 3 p.m. so we were a bit early. Very nice spot but a bit too upscale for me. Drinks were pricey! I ordered the mojito and it was $17. It was good though! Service was very friendly and upbeat and there is a great view of the harbor!
Malibu Farm is such a cool spot for lunch with one of the best views of the San Diego Bay. The fresh, farm-to-table menu was delicious, light, and full of flavor. Everything tasted clean and healthy lunch. Good portions. The only downside was the service. Everyone was genuinely friendly, but it was quite slow. If you're on a lunch break or in a hurry, this probably isn't the best choice since it took longer than expected. That said, if you have the time, settle in and enjoy the relaxed beach vibe. It's a place to slow down, take in the scenery, and savor the experience. happily come back for both the food and the views.
We came here as our friend said this place was good. This was against my advice as this place seemed to be very expensive. We walked in and were sat down. The scenery was nice. It was a bit cold today so that kinda stunk. I ended up ordering the red tacos which were almost 30 dollars for 3 tacos. The food came. The tacos were good. They were very filled. They were small tacos with piled high meat. Meat was a little chewy. Taste was very good. My big thing was again, 30 dollars for 3 tacos and no sides. Seems a bit outrageous. I would give it a 4.5. About what it scores.
The view is incredible, the decor sets the perfect vibe, the food is very good, and the service is fast and friendly. My mom and I ate here twice (breakfast and lunch) and grabbed afternoon coffees twice because it was conveniently located behind our hotel and it's a solid choice. The food is fresh and flavorful and the portions were generous without the meals feeling heavy. I loved the green hot sauce and I want to order some online because it's fruity and spicy. The iced lattes are delicious but they're tiny. Do not go in expecting a venti...

While on vacation in the San Diego area, we took our dogs and walked around the Seaport Village shops. Most everywhere we went was dog friendly and some of the shops had bowls of water outside for them. We decided to have a late lunch and landed at the Malibu Farm, which was a fabulous choice!! Not only are they dog friendly but they have a fabulous dog menu with several choices of meals for them. They also offer water as soon as we were seated. We chose the chicken & broccoli bowl that also contains rice and shared it between the two pups...not a drop left! I decided on the Malibu Beef Burger which was cooked to perfection and was such a great burger with a tad of mess (which is what makes a burger the best!) They don't offer french fries but roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes so I chose the roasted ones. They were so good and there was also a lightly dressed arugula salad, which was a perfect side! Wife got the Stop Light Trio tacos which comes with three tacos (the green-chicken, raw brussels, cilantro crema, the yellow-butternut and spaghetti squash with a mango habanero salsa, and the red-hanger steak, pickled cabbage, onion, and salsa roja). She loved the yellow one best followed by the red one but I'm all for the green one...it was delicious!). And we had to splurge with a piece of their grilled chocolate cake...yup grilled! We were told that the cake was torched around the sides and it creates a nice toasty edge. So decadent and thick and rich and lots of chocolate! Overall an excellent meal along with some great service! We had a server change during our meal but we were wowed by the service from everyone. Taylor was the server who ended our service. I love coming here to bring my tourists friends, my gals for brunch, or just getting some farm to table goodness. I was happy when this Malibu favorite came down to San Diego. It just makes sense. All the food AND drinks are so good. And I say that with the upmost respect. I love coming here. I don't have many pictures cuz I really come to hang out. Definitely a place to check out. The best part of this location is the view. You overlook the water no matter where you sit. We had a 15 minute wait, but there's plenty to do & see in the plaza while you wait. Drinks were yummy, especially the vanilla late. They offer doggie meals in a dog bowl so I got my pup some eggs for $5 We did get lobster sliders which I did not love.. and a poke bowl that was yum but I wouldn't rave over the food but maybe we should try other things next time. Definitely pricey since we paid $100 for 2 people but you pay for the location in my opinion read more
Malibu farms is a consistently good place to take out of Towners. It's healthy, a beautiful location, and service is always great. Do I think it's worth an hour + wait? Not really The scramble was okay, the broccoli texture in the eggs was interesting. Everything is always a little bit bland. The focaccia with the herb butter was really good ! Such a wonderful place to take someone from out of town! If you're picking up someone from the airport during the day, drive here immediately, and take them for a bite! The views alone make it worthwhile to come have a meal here. This restaurant has farm to table vibes with a cute chicken coop out front. I really enjoyed the steak and eggs while my kids enjoyed their Swedish pancakes. The Matcha was a bit too sweet for me, but it was highly recommended from the server. They had a nice selection of other drinks for me to get for next time though. Great service and also great ambience. I love this addition to the Seaport village area! read more
We came here for lunch on a busy holiday weekend Saturday with a party of six. The quoted wait time was about an hour and a half, so we were pleasantly happy when we were seated in just about an hour. Our server was fantastic from the start. We mentioned that a few people in our group were on a bit of a time constraint, and he immediately made sure to get our drink and food orders in quickly. Throughout the meal, he stayed attentive, checked in often, and accommodated all of our requests with a great attitude. The table had a variety of dishes, including ahi tuna bowls, a breakfast burrito, Caesar salad, lobster roll, and steak & eggs. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The Bloody Mary was also a standout and definitely worth ordering. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch experience with great service. We'd absolutely come back and would happily recommend it to others. read more
I took my mom here for Mother's Day last weekend. Brunch is always busy here so expect a little wait, but we got lucky and only had to wait around 20 minutes. Our service was SO much better this time around. Shoutout to Katelyn! She was a total sweetheart and anticipated our needs before we even had to make requests. Drinks: I got the matcha latte half sweet and it was yummy. Food: My mom got the broccoli quesadilla and thought it was delicious - she was a big fan of the chipotle sauce it came with. I got the surfers rancheros, which honestly isn't something I'd usually get but I was SO happy it did. Literally a flavor explosion in your mouth with lots of fun texture too. I visited Malibu Farm in San Diego for Mother's Day weekend, and you really can't beat the location. Sitting right on the harbor and getting to watch all the water sports out on the water makes for a fantastic dining atmosphere. Everything we ordered had a very fresh and bright feel to it, though there were a few misses on execution. The Stop Light Tacos was a good sampler. The chicken taco was easily my favorite of the three. The steak taco was just average, but the butternut squash taco is very spicy. I was really excited to dig into the Catch of the Day, especially for the crispy fish skin. However, the skin hadn't been descaled properly, which made it pretty unappetizing and hard to eat. The Seasonal Juice was Absolutely delicious and perfectly refreshing for a warm day by the water. Overall, the vibe, the views, and the refreshing drinks made for a lovely Mother's Day outing. While the menu concepts are wonderfully fresh and bright, some of the dish executions (like the fish scales and overly spicy squash) definitely leave some room for improvement. read more

Somewhere between 3-4 stars. Food: 4/5 stars, food was pretty good - I'd highly recommend the French Toast, I've never seen it presented as such and it was delicious. We also had the rancheros & the crab cakes. The crab cakes were very, very small. Ambiance: 5/5 stars...I'd say you're paying for ambiance here with a view of the water. It was extremely windy today so that's the one downside of sitting outdoors & dining here. Service: 3/5 stars...service was okay. We waited about 15 minutes on a Saturday around 3pm after being quoted 20-25 minutes so that was a pleasant surprise. Our server was friendly and food came out quickly but it was hard to get her attention when we needed her, so I'm guessing she got busy with other tables. Prices: 2/5 stars...on one hand, I get it. The location is gorgeous but this place is extremely pricey. $36 for 3 shrimp tacos on the menu really blew my mind. Our check for 3 items (2 breakfast entrees & 1 side) came close to $90 after tax & top. For the prices charged, I would've expected the food portions & flavors to impress me but it was just fine. Overall, an okay experience. Cool spot to check out but pricey overall. read more

Parker and Alvin the bartenders helped us. Made us evening drinks, and recommended two delicious cakes - chocolate and carrot. We loved it. This was my dads first time at Malibu farm and had an excellent time. Vibes were high and we got to watch the sunset. read more

We happened upon this place by accident, hungry for breakfast. Spectacular view of the bay, wonderful customer service, and a beautiful set up inside the restaurant. Bright from natural sunlight, airy, clean and plenty of seating. Great concept. I had the French toast with seasonal fruit, hubby chose shrimp tacos and my daughter picked The Ranchero, every plate was fantastic. Not salty, not skimpy but just enough. Well seasoned, and plated beautifully. I did tey a blueberry hot matcha, fabulous and not overly sweetened. We will definitely be back! read more
We returned for dinner recently. It has nice view of the water. I wish this service was a little better. This place was a little pricey especially compared to lunch. Other than starters and salads, most entrees were $40+. Three people got the lobster Mac and cheese. Everyone did thoroughly enjoyed the dish. I got the octopus. It was delicious and the Crispy potatoes were good as well. Until next time and hope service is a little better. read more

First off... if you eat here you need to make sure Leo is your server... or better yet... he is your "Experience Director". He was super knowledgeable about everything on the menu and knew how to share the information without sound like he does it 20 times a day. Once again, to make this experience worth it, get seated with Leo. Food was amazing, service was great. Came on a Friday in the afternoon and barely had to wait. We were a group of 7 and service was immaculate. The birthday girl in our group got the nachos and she absolutely loved them! Can't wait to come again. read more

A great new addition to Seaport Village with unbeatable views! We got coffee, and cocktails, cauliflower pizza, poke bowl, pancakes, salads, crab cakes, tacos...we enjoyed everything! Service was very good and attentive. Overall love this place and will be back and recommending it to others! Perfect that it's located at Seaport Village, so you can walk off the meal while strolling the beautiful San Diego! read more

In San Diego for the weekend and had to have breakfast at Malibu Farms. My dried egg sandwich was delicious. Our waitress was so nice and pet our dog. She even gave us a doggie menu and a bowl with cold water since its so HOT today. We got a table out on the patio facing the water and it felt nice and refreshing. Hiya B.U.M.S., Fresh off the plane at the San Diego airport, my wife picked me up, and naturally, my first question was whether she had eaten yet. Of course, she hadn't. It was already well into brunch time, but hey--she's my best friend and clearly can't bear to dine without me. Luckily, she's not the type to hit you with the dreaded "I don't care, you choose" routine. We quickly set our sights on Malibu Farm, and as we walked up, the stunning waterfront views immediately set the stage. If you're visiting with little ones, there's an absolute game-changer right out front: a charming chicken coop. If the kids start getting a bit egg-stra rambunctious at the table, it's the perfect spot for a quick pep-talk with the birds. Once seated outside, we soaked in the scenery, surrounded by ducks and local wildlife, though the outdoor patio floor was still pretty wet. A quick swab with a mop before seating guests would make a world of difference, but the friendly staff and amazing atmosphere made it easy to roll with it. When it came to the table spread, we had a mix of total wins and a few learning moments. The Hibiscus Haze was a standout star--super flavorful with ingredients that blended together seamlessly. On the flip side, my wife experienced a bit of a foam overload with her cold brew, wishing she'd just stuck to a classic, plain pour. For our main savory pick, the Steak and Eggs felt a bit middle-of-the-road for a spot with this kind of reputation. We realized after the fact that Malibu Farm is famous for its shrimp tacos, which was definitely a missed-steak on our part, as we would've snapped up those tacos in a heartbeat. We rounded out the meal with the Swedish mini pancakes and the Beefy Nachos. The pancakes were delicious once you mixed all the toppings together, even if they tried to slide a couple of slightly over-toasted--okay, burnt--ones into the middle of the stack. The nachos, however, completely delivered. My wife on the other hand didn't like how some chips were soggy, which to me just means one glorious thing: maximum toppings. I loaded up the crunchy chips with their incredible mango habanero sauce, tossing it all together like a delicious, savory meat salad. To top off the experience, our server shared an awesome piece of local lore before we left: apparently, one of the bartenders hand-feeds a resident crow. Came here for dinner at Seaport Village. Parking is in the paid lot, but they do validate $11 of parking (about an hour) which does help. Service was a mixed bag. Our waiter was solid: knowledgeable about the menu and gave good recommendations. However, the host and some of the staff running food felt very quiet and disengaged. At this price point, I'd expect a higher level of attentiveness and warmth throughout the entire experience. For food we ordered: - Octopus: This was a standout dish! Grilled perfectly with a great char while staying tender inside. The potatoes were excellent and the romesco sauce was incredible. Would have liked more of the delicious sauce. - Barramundi (catch of the day) - well executed. Crispy skin, perfectly cooked fish, and a really good carrot purée. The Fresno sauce wasn't my favorite because it was too runny and didn't cling to the fish. - Carrot cake - a must get. Warm, moist, and flavorful. The home made granola added nice texture, though a bit more sauce would've improved the balance. The restaurant itself is in a great spot in Seaport Village with nice surroundings and easy access to the waterfront. We sat inside and it was still a bit chilly with the doors open. The french toast was so decadent, drenched in a creamy blueberry cream cheese filling that wasn't too dense. Every bite was light and fluffy, yet warm and crispy thanks to the cast iron preparation and presentation. Very comforting and delicious for a hearty brunch. Definitely on the pricey side for a not so big portion, but you can't beat the location so close to the water you can stare out all day. Really lovely as the inside blends with the ocean view, which gets close but not quite the same as the original Malibu location straight on the pier. Everyone is friendly and polite. read more
The views here is impeccable, and the service was really great as well. The food tasted delicious and fresh. It is pretty pricey, but I'm sure you're paying for the ambience. I ordered the crabcakes. I think it was just OK. I'll probably skip that next time as an appetizer and for the main dish I shared the scallops. It was very delicious. I don't think it should be an entrée just because of the size of the meal but overall, it was tasty. read more

Yes online for after 4:30 pm; walk ins ok before that. You can also call them directly at 619 695 2300. Please ensure all members are present for seating.
How is parking? I can answer this myself now. Went for lunch today -a nice sunny weekday. Lots of parking in the Seaport Village lots. Take your parking voucher to the restaurant for validation - it cost only $5 parking with validation.
There are paid self serve public parking lots with hundreds of spots on both sides of the restaurant that will fill up during peak times like Seaport Village events or weekends.
Do they take reservations?
During the daytime, they do not take reservations. They do take reservations in the evening.
How busy does it get for brunch over the weekend? Too long wait times?
It gets really busy. Waitlist can be 30-45 minutes. Just be early on ur expected time to meet up.
