Waxing can be intimidating, and if done incorrectly, can be extremely painful and regretful. I had my fair share of terrible waxes in my lifetime. But guess what, none of them have been here. Been coming to Bombshell for the last decade and I've had nothing but great service over the years from everyone I've encountered. I've "Happily" spent my money here on my Fiancée and I and continue to do so consistently. Terrible customer service - and this was a long time ago (at a Mandeville Bombshell Waxing) but I remember it as though it was yesterday. Their attendants are habitually late at performing services but once, when my teenage daughter was just 8 minutes late, not only did they deny her service, they insisted that one of her services be deducted from her account. I had noticed in a previous post that someone put an image of a "Notice to Vacate" on the door of the business and it didn't surprise me at all - what goes around, comes around. It's pretty simple - the Golden Rule - treat people the way you want to be treated. Again, this "Bombshell" waxing incident was from 5 years ago on the northshore but I still remember it as though it was yesterday. Fortunately, I have not had to experience shockingly poor customer service at this level by any business. Just dreadful. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE It all began on June 5th, I attempted to book a service with bombshell waxing via text. I was texted back saying that there were errors on my account. I attempted to call and reach out to Bombshell main line to sort out the issue and no one answered. After a week or so of not being able to get in touch with anyone via telephone, I book an appointment online with the assumption that I would sort out any problems when serviced. Keep in mind, my online account showed no red flags and I was able to book like normally. [SN: as of now my online account is flagged and not working] Made an appointment for June 10th. The appointment was made and only was cancelled due to being in a car accident on the way to being serviced. My esthetician texted me that day inquiring about me missing my appointment. No mention of my account being delinquent. Fast Forward to June 22nd which was my next scheduled appointment. I was notified via text 10 minutes prior to my appointment that it has been cancelled. At this point, I was already at the salon so I immediately texted back and started calling. In hopes to just update payment, and continue being serviced. NO ANSWER! At this point, I'm standing outside the business waiting for someone to help me sort out the issue in Hot Louisiana heat. I could not see inside, but with being familiar with the salon layout from visiting previously I know the front desk person sees me standing outside. After waiting outside for 20 minutes and calling 4 times I was finally able to speak with someone which only made the situation worse! I was told contraindicating information than what I was told via text and the person I spoke with did not to care at all about trying to work the issue out with me and save me as a customer! Keep in mind, she never attempted to discuss how my account became delinquent which I am still confused by because I have had the same card on file since I have became a member in 2019! No card is required when booking or being serviced because of the monthly membership! Also, I leave a tip every appointment with the same card on file and was never notified that something was wrong with the card! I was told I would have to pay $150 dollars to make my account current and receive service!!! Keep in mind I have only had ONE appointment since my account had been "delinquent" totaling much less than $100! This morning I received an email basically warning me about posting about my experience and saying they reached out, but I never got a call from them only the texted that I showed below! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is constant unprofessionalism displayed throughout the salon as well as constant changing of employees! The only reason I didn't cancel was because I signed a contract for the monthly membership and I liked the convenience of not having to pay each visit. BEWARE of the liability & indemnification clause in the client contract. I'm finally done with them, after 5 years coming here. I've had issues with payment and software, the customer service has steadily declined, and they clearly don't take care of their staff because it's a continual revolving door of a WIDE variety of skill levels. Meaning, some great and some are really awful. But the final straw is that they recently updated their intake form to include a clause saying that if a client publishes an unfavorable review of them or any employee, that client is subject to being sued for $50,000!!!!! I can't imagine anyone reads that fine print, or maybe they don't understand what it means, but HELL NO, I am NOT agreeing to that! I dealt with the shitty management this long because it's in my neighborhood, and the buy 3 get 1 free Brazilian packages can't be beat for price. DO NOT GO HERE. A year ago, I would have given Bombshell 5 stars, but the past 8+ months have been absolutely terrible. They stopped having a person answer the phones, which is fine, but they have NO voicemail. If you are having an issue, there is literally no one to contact. They do not reply to emails. The only luck I have had getting in contact with someone was to message them on facebook. A few months ago, they increased my membership by 40%, which I was ok with (comparable to other places in the area), but getting an appointment was difficult and so I tried to cancel. I thought I had until they charged me for the last 2 months, at once, without warning. Even after that, I thought "That's fine, I will go for my wax and I will cancel in person", so I scheduled an appointment. I showed up early and the place was locked. I waited around until my appointment time, and still, no one in sight. I tried to call, but that just leads to a recording and hangs up on you. I messaged through facebook and no answer. I would give this place 0 stars if i could! I was loyal to bombshell for many years. Im not sure what changed but I should have known to cancel my membership sooner when all of their estheticians left. Seriously, all of their estheticians all quit and walked out on the same day. I went about the correct way of canceling my membership via certified mail. I received an email confirming they received my request and that I'd have to pay the last month for service - fine. They decided to charge my card. Two days later, I am charged again. This isn't the first time I had problems with them constantly charging my card without authorization. (They kept charging my card during the pandemic lockdown even when they weren't open). I've been emailing and calling to talk to someone and of course I haven't heard back from anyone. If I could give this place 0 stars I honestly would. I NEVER write reviews, however, I had been a loyal member since June of 2018 at Bombshell. I had little to no issues at all during that time. That is until the new management came in. I should have known better when they couldn't keep their esthetician's that it was going down hill. But I mistakenly stayed. I've read the reviews they've been given lately, and they aren't wrong. This new management is unprofessional and rude. I have three children of my own, and dealing with the new manager Alyssa is like dealing with my 13 year old daughter. This company used to truly care about their customers, and I don't believe they do anymore. I'm not sure when that happened, but from looking at these reviews, I can tell that it all must have started when Alyssa became manager. And I wonder how many loyal customers they've lost so far due to the childish games that she plays. As all of the other reviews stated, I too, was charged a "no show" fee, even though I spoke with a representative that morning to reschedule my appointment. As I have done before with no issue. During that phone call I was never notified that should I cancel the appointment I would be charged $50 for it. When this was brought to their attention it was stated that "Our call center is not advised to notify clients being that the policies are agreed upon at booking." Policies that were not stated in my membership contract. I went round and round with Alyssa, until I told her I would be canceling my membership and going elsewhere. I mailed my membership cancellation to Bombshell as requested, because apparently an email stating so doesn't suffice. Well, yesterday I received an attempt to charge me for an appointment I didn't make on July 14. Mind you I've sent in my cancellation and stated I would not be returning and taking my business elsewhere. When I called Bombshell regarding it, I unfortunately spoke with the lovely miss Alyssa again. She informed me that because I didn't explicitly state "I want to cancel my membership and all future appointments" that's why I'm being charged for yet another no show appointment. I don't know what other vocabulary I needed to use or how she didn't comprehend that I would absolutely never be back to that establishment, but here we are. A whole month later and still dealing with the mess of Bombshell Waxing. Also, I'd like to make it known that I could not get away from Alyssa, if she wasn't answering the phones, then she was answering the emails and texts. Today I spoke with Cheyan, the manager of the mandaville location. That too was a waste of time, however, I was told that Alyssa was appointed manager of Metairie after the manager before her was caught throwing away cancellations and telling the staff not to notify the member of the policies. I don't believe that the "Customer is always correct", however, in this instance I believe I was correct. They'll never admit wrong doing on their part though. I've since had to get a new checking account for my mistakes! So with that said, do yourself a huge favor and absolutely don't waste your time, money, or energy on this childish place. read more

I had visited Bombshell Waxing a few times before the pandemic under my girlfriend's membership. We eventually canceled the membership due to an inability to schedule waxing sessions for me due to availability conflicts. My girlfriend became my fiancée, and just recently became my wife! I decided to try getting an appointment and found that everything has changed.. for the better! Appointments are now done on their website, letting you know when the next available time is for the service you're interested in. You can even specify mornings, evenings, or any time. I found availability the following day and booked my appointment. They send a confirmation email which included an attachment that let me put the appointment in my calendar. Another email included a link so I could fill out the check-in questionnaire instead of having to fill it out in person. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted pleasantly. Everyone was kind, professional, and helped create a relaxing atmosphere. My waxing session started on time, and everything was very clean and comfortable. My waxer was very efficient and helped mitigate the pain inherent with Brazilian waxing through distracting conversation and guided breathing. The time went quicker than expected, which is a testament to how professional and anxiety reducing they are. After just half an hour I was getting dressed and quite happy with the results. I'm definitely coming back in a few weeks to do it all again. If you're on the fence, give them a try. You won't be dissapointed. read more

So disappointed. Booked myself and the day of the appointment I got a call from work at 6am which required to leave the country. Just got back today and tried to book again and fix things but their cancellation policy has me :o. How do you charge a complete service for a cancellation? How does one get in contact "3 hrs or 6hrs prior to" to cancel if the business is closed and there's not even information on any cancellation policy or procedures online that I am aware of. I had a guest service pass for a first time customer. Who ever wants it I uploaded a picture of it. Only problem I had was that after scheduling an appointment with my normal waxer they didn't inform me "until arrival" that she's not longer with them and I had to get waxed by a totally different person.. this happened to me 3 times. I understand closings happen. Health is unpredictable and sometimes businesses have to close their doors. However the way Bombshell is handling this transition is atrocious! There is no contact number to try to call to handle the leftover packages, no responses to emails, and their website no longer works except to serve as an updating platform that only the owners can access. They are pushing this transition to Skin Medics that is not convenient for everyone. I live on the northshore and WILL NOT be traveling to Metairie. I am simply requesting a refund but have given up hope of receiving one. My hard earned 200$ spent and wasted!! Skin medics has no contact number for bombshell and is taking the brunt of all these issues so don't even bother trying them for help. PLEASE JUST GIVE ME A REFUND!!! Today, this company lost one customer. After 3 emails and two texts to remind/confirm my appointment, they failed to tell me that my membership was canceled. Receptionist sat me down in the waiting area, got my service done went to pay and got bombarded with an amount that I wasn't expecting. I will honor my service, paid my technician, and tipped her. I purchased a one (1) year membership in June 2020. I am very disappointed in the service. I have had multiple waxologist. They cannot keep the same staff. I have had an employee call the day of my appointment to cancel my appointment because the waxologist did not come in. The employee turnover is ridiculous! Even one of the waxologist was complaining that they cannot keep employees. I have asked to end my membership. I was told that I would need to email Raylyn to cancel. I emailed her as explained, she emailed over a week later. Raylyn sent me a copy of my contract. It states that I need to cancel in writing.... which I did!!! They are still charging me monthly. These two stars are for the estheticians. And SOME of the girls in the front that are very nice. This place is clean and the estheticians that did my waxes were nice. I was a very loyal customer to bombshell, I was about to purchase my membership... However, a couple of months ago I was charged for an appointment I DID NOT make. I talked to the manager which I believe is a new one, she was very unprofessional rude. This place DOESN'T care about customer service, it's one of those places that just care about money. I never ever write down reviews but this time I just had to do it. They never got back to me, she stated she would. My account is locked and I can't make an appointment. Out of the nowhere I have a balance for an appointment I did not make, instead of apologizing she started blaming it on me and telling me other awful things. Groupon users BEWARE My appointment was running 15 minutes late, despite me arriving 15 minutes early, so they told me they wouldn't have time to do my eyebrows. I had a deal for a brazilian and eyebrow wax. The brazilian was fine, I bruised a good bit, but it happens. They gave me a $6 "numbing" packet, which was just lidocaine and helped 0% for me. This wasn't an OK replacement for the $20 eyebrow wax I thought I was getting... Now I am frustrated and out of time to get my eyebrows done before my event. I wish they would have contacted me to let me know that they could not accommodate my request - they said most clients are OK with the numbing packet swap... which tells me that I'm not the first person they "didn't have time for" poor professionalism and now I'm sad with bushy brows and a lot less gas in my tank after having to drive out to Metairie... huge disappointment read more

I have been a loyal bombshell customer for years at the Metairie location. I had an appointment for 6:10pm this evening, and I had to call to double check if my appointment was still happening because of the storm... you would think someone would reach out to your customers. Turns out it was but at the uptown location. Arrive to my appointment ON TIME. Go inside to check in... not a single employee had a mask on. I will be reporting this to the city. I was also told my appointment was running late and to go outside. The waiting area had signs saying customers couldn't sit... and not to mention looked like total crap. Obviously this location has opened way before it actually should. Whoever the manager / owner is should be totally embarrassed at the state of this place. I will be reporting it to the health department. Waited 10 minutes past my appointment time (unacceptable considering customers are told if we are 5mins late we need to reschedule).... went into the room, which also looked like total shit. Missing crown molding, half assed paint job, no vent cover, parts of the ceiling missing, etc... shame on you for opening this to the public. Wax went OK... Probably among the worst I've ever gotten, and I have been getting Brazilians for over a decade. If this wasn't disturbing enough... I didn't even have time to get one ass cheek off the table before an employee came barging in. Bang bang bang... door flies open... "oh I need to clean" I had no bottoms on at this point. I didn't even have a chance to put my pants on. I asked can I at least put my pants on??? My request was ignored, she began ripping paper off the table and spraying what I hope was cleaning solution. Oh wait there's more.... I went to check out and mentioned how rude it was for the woman to barge in to the woman checking me out. Did she care? No. I was then told that she confused me with another customer and my account was charged (I have a membership and shouldn't have been charged), oh but she reversed it so it SHOULD be ok. Speaking of, I need to be refunded for the time your business was closed during Covid... weird how when I asked for that last month I was told yall couldn't reverse the charge. I wish I could give this place 0 Stars, but I can't so I give you a one. I have been a customer to bombshell since March of 2016. That's almost 6 years. I get my little wax every month or every other month (since my hair doesn't now back as much) and go about my day. Today I was expecting to do the same thing, however, that is not what happened. While waiting for appointment at 1100, my esthetician came out to tell me my subscription had been suspended because my payment didn't go through for the previous month. She goes on to say that If I wanted to get my wax done I would have to pay full price for services or pay the subscription fee from last month. I told her I didn't mind making up for that missed payment but that I would need to cancel my subscription after this because I am moving to a different state. The card that I was going to use for this is the same one on file and the same one used when the transaction didn't go though previously. The esthetician told me she was going to call her manager to find out any information, but came back and told me it was an issue with me and my bank. I tried to explain to her that I didn't know the reason it didn't go through and show her my bank statements. I've been charged every single month for 6 years and have never had an issue. At this point I was just trying to figure out how to resolve it and still get my wax. She called the owner again then shortly after I received a notification from my bank that I was charged $75 for an appointment. I called the esthetician up front to ask her how and why she charged my account. If she said the card on file didn't work for my subscription payment (that's automatic) how was she able to remotely charge me $75 for an appointment on the same card? She also told me they thought I was leaving so they were charging me for a "no call no show". That is when I asked to speak to someone else. One of the owners came in the establishment and didn't even introduce himself properly. I stuck out my hand to shake it, as people do when meeting someone for the first time, and he stuck his finger out. He took me to the side so we could talk about the situation. I explained that I understand something happened to where I wasn't charged for my monthly subscription for last month but I didn't understand how and WHY they charged me for a "no call, no show" when I was literally in the building. All I wanted to do was to pay for what I had missed, get my wax, and cancel my subscription. After speaking to his wife several times and going back and forth, the intrusive esthetician reminded him that I wanted to cancel my subscription and he kicked me out of the establishment. He offered no help when I asked how to cancel my subscription from this day forward and refused to give me back my $75 for the appointment. Never in my life have I been so embarrassed and treated so poorly by a business (ESPECIALLY one I've been so loyal too). This place has gone down the drain these past couple of years. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was a member for a little over a year. $35 a month for the membership. I loved it aside from always having a different waxer. Their turn over rate is very high, I'm not sure why. However, they are no longer take calls and everything appears to be booked through their website. I had an appointment set for 10/23/2021 and I called multiple times the day of to let them know I was not going to be able to make it due to and emergency with a family member. In the past we were at least able to speak with someone over the phone but on this day, it would hang up each time. I'm driving during to the family emergency so I'm unable to go on their website. In the past they have called me back if they were experiencing phone issues. No call back. I receive an email that I've been charged FULL PRICE for a Brazilian and under arm wax! That's $75! It's about the principle. I've been a loyal customer even through COVID so for them to just completely ignore me is ridiculous. I have emailed MULTIPLE TIMES since that day and they have not responded. They did the same thing to my God-mother and didn't respond until she wrote a nasty review! I'm honestly sick of it.
