I typically do NOT go to my second wax because of not stellar experiences (sensitive skin and rough waxers). However, Stella Samson is AMAZING at what she does. My review is only based off of a Brazilian wax. And if you get those then you know how important it is to find someone who makes you feel comfortable, pain free as possible, and preferably fast. I had Zoey for my services and she was really great! Kept the conversation light but going so I wasn't focused on all the fears associated with a Brazilian wax no matter how many times you get them lol. She was fast and pretty painless also. No stray hairs left behind and just a really great overall experience! This place is pricey I will admit, I mean usually I get my waxes when I go back home to Los Angeles and most I've paid for a Brazilian is $35 and that's in the high end areas. Here it cost me $48. However, I'm pretty loyal and a person of comfort and this place gave me that feeling so I'll likely be back. Tiny suggestion - usually back home they'll wipe you down with a bit of baby oil at the end to get any wax that might have been left. I definitely recommend that bc I had a super tiny amount of like two wax spots left on me that weren't enjoyable to rip off when I got home lol. But it wasn't like a make or break part of the experience either so no real harm done. Overall, great experience! read more

Extremely Disappointed! -First, I'd like to acknoledge that the facility is clean and well maintained. Everyone is professional and really nice. (: -Yes, Stella is as awesome as the reviews if not better! She's a legit brow magician!!! -Unfortunately, everyone is not. Yesterday was my second visit and Stella was not available. I was all for trying someone new because I instantly fell in love with the place. I will not name the lady because she was super sweet and created a very relaxed environment. -I wear glasses but didn't have them at this appt. Once she got done, from what I saw, they seemed neat/great. I tipped as usual and left. Once I got home and started my nightly routine is when I noticed that my right brow was botched. I'm sure we've all heard the saying "no set of brows are twins, only sisters" However, I ended up with "cousin" brows. For someone that hardly ever wears makeup this is extremely frustrating! Because I now have to pencil to get an even look when my brows naturally grow full and thick. -Sorry to be so lengthy but this incident has kept me up all through the night. Brows are such a staple now!! And to have mine worse off than they were, going two weeks over what's recommended is really devastating. I "wolfed" for so long lol and to think of doing it all over again makes my heart & brows sad. -& TO BE CLEAR ... I do NOT expect perfection. I expected and asked for a CLEAN UP ONLY. I uploaded a collage with dates to show my progress and the latest service. -It's something about my inner right brow that's just too thin where it should be thickest. And that's after I bushed them out. The new shape just makes it look awkward. Still undecided on if I'll continue service there but I am sure I have to wolf it out it again. -I would recommend adding "brow mapping" to the service. That way mistakes like this are easily avoided. It should be all inclusive to ensure the sams results. But even if an extra fee was added, I'm sure there are makeup-less ladies that wouldn't mind paying like myself. read more

Sometimes, you just have to go check out a new place for yourself. I called on a Friday afternoon, hoping to score an appointment for Saturday morning. Amanda, the manager, squeezed me in no problem. We chatted about the typical first-visit subjects: how I learned about them, if I had ever had these kinds of services before, etc. She was super friendly, which put me at ease. I'll admit, I don't even like yelping about things this personal, but someone had to tell you how great this place really is. When I arrived, Amanda was right there to welcome me. I signed in, chatted with Amanda a bit, and asked for her permission to take photos for Yelp. Trenice came out a minute later, and she led me down the hall to a very clean room with music playing in the background. Everything is clean and organized. She confirmed with me that I understood the process, described the wax that they make in house, and we got started. We talked and laughed the whole time, which isn't what you think of when you picture waxing, but this is how it should be. Easy, relaxed, and less painful than a shop I experienced out in Metairie. They don't try to rush on to the next customer, so they do smaller patches at a time, which provides for a higher quality experience. It also means less tweezing (ouch). To top everything off, your first visit is 50% off, and they don't accept tips. Seriously. I didn't even know that was an option. And I wanted to tip after such great service. So I walked out only having paid $25 for a $50 service. They tell you that the way you too is by sharing your experience with others. It's too easy! Instead of being in and out in 20 minutes, walking out in pain, I was there about 45 minutes, I left relaxed, smiling, and ready to spread the news. I've been deterred away from chains especially receiving services as personal as this because I HATE the overselling process that I usually receive at other chains, but I felt like I was at a cute local boutique at Waxing the City. My waxer Zoie took less than 20 minutes for a Brazilian and was very thorough and professional. She kept my mind off of the service engaging in just enough small talk that was engaging without being annoying. She really is the best all around! I was offered water upon my arrival and able to browse their products in the lobby before my appointment without someone hovering over me expecting me to buy everything I looked at. The check in and check out process was easy peasy as you can also tip on the iPad when paying for your service. Like other salons, they offer 50% off your first service, but they also provide referral incentives, where every friend you refer you then receive $5 off your next service, so its a win - win. I've seen it difficult to find a same day appointment so I definitely recommend booking in advance! They also have a pretty fair cancellation policy, where you need to cancel 24 hours in advance. read more

This place might be good for waxing down below but would not recommend their brow wax. Will definitely have to be filling in one of my brows for a while. My skin was not cleansed before the wax, paid for "anti redness treatment" for after and only a cream was applied to my brows afterwards. I have been visiting this location since October, 2019. I was living out of state at the time and was accustomed getting eyebrow/eyelash tints. I was spending enough time in New Orleans to visit every few months. I landed with Stella on my first appointment and she has been my service provider ever since, particularly since I relocated to New Orleans full time in 2021. One of my best friends recently had an appointment with Ashleigh & had all positive things to say. I was coming into town on Saturday so I booked an appointment with Zoe to prepare for a beach trip coming up. The place as a whole was very clean & welcoming and everyone I encountered was super nice. They offered me bottled water and it was only a few minutes before Zoe came to greet me. My service was not only comfortable but quick and by far the least painful waxing experience I've ever had (compared to Venus Experience and Bombshell). They use hard wax & it was noticeable how smoothly it seemed to remove the hair. To the point that I actually wondered if it was actually pulling the hair out! Zoe and I chatted as she worked (a nice distraction) and I was really happy with the results. Time-wise, greeting to paying, the appointment was done within 15 minutes. At some point in my adult life, I discovered that having well-kept eyebrows made my entire face look just a little more adult. For someone with a sweetly fat, freckled face, the looking a little bit more adult (and a lot more put-together!) was a major selling point. My very first visit was just blind luck. I picked Ashley because she had an availability when I did...and I will not give this girl up! She understands my thick brow vision! Not once has Ashley pressured me to do anything that won't look good with my face, and she actually understands that because my glasses are kinda funky, my brows have to keep up with the big, bold look. She's always answered my questions about other services, but I've never been pressured with a hard up-sell...which actually makes me more likely to use them for other services, should I decide to add other services to my waxing list in the future. The online booking system makes my life a little bit better, and I really appreciate it. The other thing I really appreciate is the small flexibilities. I work in the service industry so my shifts often end "whenever" or begin "when we get busy." This means I'm frequently calling the day of, offering to cancel my appointment, and asking if there is 15 minutes grace or a later slot. It doesn't happen every month, but I have made that call more than I care to admit. And every time, I am polite (if frantic) and the salon coordinator is polite and helpful. I've never been yelled at, but I also think this is because they understand that my job (which pays for my waxing) is weirdly demanding. It's not an easy thing to schedule around, but I also wouldn't trade it for the world. There are waxing rooms on the first and second floor so you may be taken up a set of stairs and into a second studio. The rooms on the second floor have natural light coming from skylights, which is pretty lovely. All the rooms on the first floor are spacious and comfortable. I only get my eyebrows done, and I only see Ashley. But I can say that the space is always clean, the staff I use and come in contact with is always kind, and the pricing isn't terrible. It might not hurt that I also tip generously (1/3 of my total service), but I always want Ashley to know that I appreciate her time and expertise. Pro-tip: if you want to give your cereologist a cash tip, do it in the service room instead of by the front desk. This allows her the choice of how to manage and declare her tips. Accessibility notes: door opens out. Step up into the business. Some treatment rooms are on the first floor, but there are a few on the second floor. Request a ground-floor room when you book if you need no stairs. No Braille signage. High counter. Tables in individual rooms are adjustable based on height. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a new place to get waxed. I got lost but spoke to them on the phone tell them I was running late. They told me they could accommodate me as long as I arrived by 2:40. I arrived at 2:39 just for them to tell them they actually aren't going to take me. Will never use this place again. I understand they have other clients but situations arise, be that traffic, or getting lost on the way there but don't speak to the client and tell them they would be accommodated to have them keep driving only for them to get there before the time and still be turned away.
