I bought a used car less than 30 days ago. I now own a car with a blown engine. It was very obvious that they added new oil and sent it down the road. Their oil change lasted 1500 miles and all that was left in my engine was 1qt of oil and metal shavings. My automotive shop I use locally totally agrees that this catastrophic failure didn't just happen. We drained it and added new oil and it runs fine. No warning lights or anything, proving thats what they did. This is a Toyota and this motor is known for 500k miles. It fell under no warranty of course and they didn't care at all. Brought my 2014 Volt in for a scheduled fix or replacement of a damaged oil plug on a Monday morning. As of Wednesday they had not even looked at it. Instead of a new lower oil pan and plug they did a labor intensive rebuild of the old plug. Took all week, cost $2,500!! Checked on cost of $1200- $1700. Never going back. read more

Bought a new vehicle there for a very good price. Sales person was excellent. Something wasn't working on the car, so we left it there to get fixed. Came back a week later picked it up drove home and on the drive home. We stopped to get something to eat, and realized the hatchback had damage and had been touched up with paint. Of course, there was no mention of this. No one came forward and admitted it. They touch it up and hit it so they wouldn't get caught, and hoped no one would notice, which we didn't. Then he said call or text for a follow up or for questions. So any normal person with a brain would expect $64504-$2500=$62004+$585 doc= $62589. I drive 2 hours ready to buy. Get there and they say part of their discount is for high mileage loaners. Plus they want to add $600 for NON DISCLOSED fabric protection AND $1400 NON DISCLOSED AMV (market value adjustment). No where close to their advertised price. I value honesty and integrity when I deal with people and expect them to honor their advertised price. They know whether or not the vehicle is a loaner! I brought my two thousand eight corvette , and to have the harmonic bouncer replaced and to have the headlights say to recall fixed. And told bill , I want a new headlights , fog lights turn signals and I brought air conditioning condensed for them to put in. And then bill dean the so-called service advisor calls and says they are not able to fix the safety recall, because I need to buy a $3000 whole new headlight system. And then after that, they didn't even put in my none of the headlines for blinkers, when I got my car back, the steering was terrible because they didn't even offer me an alignment which you need after you have yours curing took apart to get to the motor. Traded my 2023 Kia Sportage SX Prestige for a 2023 Toyota 4Runner salesman told me it had 2 key fobs when I showed up with check in hand from my credit union to finish paperwork informed me it didn't and would give me a free oil change instead (red flag #1) got into the 4Runner it's missing passenger floor mat told my salesman he spoke with his manager he said to order the car mat and pay for them out of my pocket bring them the receipt and they will send me the check in the mail (red flag # 2 )when I was going to Bommarito Toyota to purchase the second key fob that was suppose to come with the 4Runner so went and had my windows tented and was informed I have a massive amounts of micro chips in the windshield more then a hundred not a problem unless the sun is shining on the windshield then it's blinding like tiny star bursts all over definitely a safety issue the 4Runner safety inspection was done thru Bommarito Chevy they refused to replace the windshield instead gives me a generic phone number of a woman that will come to your house I contacted her only be told that she has the flu so I explained to her what was wrong And she said that can be very distracting while driving and can't be fixed Sent the message to My salesman only to not get a response at all so buyers beware thoroughly inspect any vehicle new or use that you purchase from Bommarito Chevy on South Lindburg. I pick up my car a Thursday @10am & by 1pm my car that was only driven from there & home, had a flat tire that was punctured on the inside rim. Honestly and truth in advertising is the basis for establishing a trusted relationship with customers. They had a vehicle listed online (see photo) stating "final price" not MSRP but FINAL PRICE. Upon arriving at dealership, after many failed attempts to reach sales person on phone, we were then informed price was in fact MSRP + $2400 dealer mark up, putting the vehicle price at $19k and not the final price of $14.8 as listed on dealership website. This is SHADY practice and not something any other industry could get away with. SHAME! I would have and will have no issue but the same car at a trusted dealership for the $19k or even more before I ever look at any vehicle from here unless ownership changes it's practices. read more

I'd been sitting in the waiting from for an hour when I found out the guy who took my keys and asked me questions didn't tell anyone. I'm currently at two and a half hours for someone to look at the VIN and odometer reading and fill out two pieces of paper. Another guy here has been waiting for five hours for a check engine scan. Another woman four hours for an oil change. There has to be a better way. If not, there are too many Chevy dealerships in town. read more

Our 2013 Chevy Silverado was in bad shape. The check engine light was on, and we had taken it to several other places prior to taking it to Marty at Bommarito Chevrolet South. He did everything he could to figure out what was wrong. Long story short, we needed a new engine. He called me before doing anything on it to let me know how much it would cost. I have been dealing with this dealership for more than 7 years. I have bought 3 cars there and had my cars serviced there. But now this dealership has become absolutely terrible. On Thur 12/8 I had a service appointment at 7:20 am. In the late afternoon, I called and got told they had not gotten to it yet but they would call by noon on Fri 12/9 and update me. Needless to say there was no call. i called at 3 pm and got a text message that said they still had not gotten to it. It is now noon on Mon 12/12 and I called again and still have not gotten a response. I am going to the dealership now to rescue my car that apparently they can not be bothered to look at. My brother signed a buyers agreement contract for the purchase of his vehicle, there was an error on the title and he had to have it corrected with DMV, dealership said no problem let us know when title is fixed but you have to leave your car here. My brother shows up today with title and they are saying the do not want to purchase anymore, car has a flat tire and a dead battery, we have no way of knowing how many miles the dealership put on it in the last couple months of them owning the vehicle and he now has no way to get the car off the lot but is being threatened to be trespassed if he does not leave. Sales manager Terry was very aggressive towards my brother trying to snatch the paperwork when trying to go over the contract to try and hide the documents. Avoid this dealership at ALL COSTS. Even if the vehicle looks like it's a bargain, dealing with the dealership is a nightmare experience. I purchased my vehicle over a year ago and it's been a horrible experience. The dealership didn't register my vehicle and didn't inform me of how to do that (even though they physically transferred the plates from my trade in to the new car). This means that I've been driving an unregistered vehicle for over a year. It wasn't until I tried to renew my plates and the DMV said that the dealership did something shady that I knew something was wrong. The DMV keeps telling me to get the registration from the dealership. I've been contacting them for over a month now and can't get them to do anything. Truly, this experience is a nightmare. I like my vehicle but I will probably never purchase a Chevy again. Avoid this dealership at all costs! read more

We used the online request for test drive and arrived when we requested. He spent more time proving he did his due diligence to bring us in than anything to help us buy a car. He even asked us what we were there for. Uh...To buy a car? We were paying cash. So it wasn't a top priority for him. He couldn't show us any cars. Didn't even try. He called me and gave me updates several times throughout the day and he asked thorough questions about what was going on before doing any work. Finding a good mechanic that is trustworthy is very hard and he will be my go to going forward. I went to Bommarito Mazda/Chevy recently to have a genuine Mazda hitch installed on my wife's car. When I ordered it, I told them I needed a 2 in receiver because that's the bike rack size we had. I pick the car up and they installed a 1 ¼ in hitch, in spite of my explicit instructions. They apologized, and blamed it on unclear details on the Mazda parts website, but the damage had been done. Their fix was to buy me a conversion for a 2 in receiver. We get it and the thing is ill fitted and wobbly and couldn't be tightened enough. We thought about taking it up there again to have them make it right but I was tired of dealing with them. We wound up buying a new bike rack for a 1 ¼ in receiver. The installation cost us $475 for the hitch and the new bike rack was another $300. Needless to say, Bommarito won't be getting my business again. read more

2009 Corvette: Took my car in for repair 9/11/23. Having issues with the driver's door. Won't open from the outside from time to time. They kept it over night. The next day I payed my bill and picked up my car. I couldn't even open the door on their parking lot. Service writer calls the mechanic. I was dismissed like I didn't know how to open a car door. I'm sure glad passenger door was working. I don't know about the sales department but, the service department is really not good. Left message on their web sight about my car. Absolutely the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Have always purchased from Elco or Jim Butler but they had more vehicles in stock on their website. Their website isn't even close to being up to date on in stock vehicles. The sales guy even said they put vehicles on their that are in transit and already sold. They told my dad that he doesn't qualify for the military discount even though he is retired with a military ID. Sales guy said he has to be active military to get discountAfter finding a vehicle we liked they refused to run credit and make me an offer because I told them I was going to check out another dealership and compare the offer with theirs. They told me they don't play those games. If you are a smart buyer that wants to compare prices and interest rates don't go to this dealership. Dealerships can raise your interest rates from banks and make commission off of it so it's always smart to compare interest rates with other dealerships. Just make sure you do it within 14 days. Even the sales manager Corey said they willn't write up an offer if I was going to go to another dealership to also get an offer. They will lie to you about hurting your credit getting it ran by another dealership in order to not get you to go to another location. Then they will tell you that you are wasting their time. So my son and I bought a used 2016 Z71 never offered a warranty, Truck had 92,000 miles on it. So instead of telling us that they were having transmission problems with this year. My kid now has a truck 7 mos later, transmission went out. Called GM they go yea we know about this.But we can only give you a 10-15% discount on a new one. At a cost of 5500.00. How the hell can GM and the dealers sleep at knowing that there selling a problem to a 20 year old kid. who is working his butt off and can't afford this. I received a letter from GM stating " this letter is intended to make you aware that some 2019 model year Chevrolet traverse vehicles may have a condition that could cause the evaporative emissions purge valve to not fully close. If this condition occurs the engine could run rough hesitate or stall at idle speeds. Additionally, the malfunction indicator light otherwise known as the check engine light would illuminate, and a diagnostic trouble code would be set" Just so happens that my check engine light is on so I had my car tested at a local auto parts store, who told me that the error code it was returning was for the emissions purge valve. When I called bommarito service department, the laSt. that answered the phone pretty much told me that this letter from GM is not valid. So I asked to speak to a manager who also called me a liar and hung up on me. I have made several attempts to contact someone in the service department at bommarito. I have left multiple messages and no one has returned my phone call. This is poor customer service, and I will not be taking my cars to bommarito chevrolet for service. I took my girlfriend to Bommarito Chevrolet to see a car she was interested in. We were given "Lance" as our salesperson. To get an idea of what she'd get for her trade in, Lance took her keys and had an appraisay and blue book value done. We were shown the retail and wholesale rates and he wanted to give us the $8K rate but we wanted the $12K price at the least. After 3 times of Lance disappearing to see the sales manager, we settled on the 12K price for trade in. We were really only there to look at the new car, not to buy yet. Lance kept saying there was no pressure but he kept on trying to push us into buying that evening and kept the keys to our car in his pocket, making us feel stuck there. After what seemed like 2 hours, we finally got the keys back and left after saying we'd be back with our title and more prepared the next evening. When we went back the next evening we were greeted by Lance and we told him we didn't like the wheels on the new car and wanted to trade them for a set on another Trax vehicle. Lance said "let's go see the other Trax vehicles and see what wheels you like. We showed him wheels on a car just outside the salesroom and he said they won't fit because they are 19" and the car we wanted has 18" wheels. So we went to look at other Trax vehicles and I found several Trax with 18" wheels that we liked. Lance said he could only take wheels from an LT model and we wanted the Activ model. I advised the LT has 17" wheels and the ones we wanted and showed him were 18", just like on the Activ model. Lance again said no and I said the Trax models at another dealer (mentioned by name) had the wheels we wanted. Lance said then go to (balnk) dealer and buy the car there, to which I said "take us to our car". Lance then said "don't be an asshole". I again said to take us to our car and after several "back and forth" sentences he took us back to our car and we eventually left. My girlfriend really wanted this particular Trax and the warranty Bommarito offered. We called the sales manager and said we couldn't work with Lance after what he said to us and wanted a different salesperson. We were granted "Maurice" and went back a 3rd day and completed the sale and trade in. Because of Lance, I gave a generous 3 star review. Had Maurice been our salesperson from the start, I would have given a 5 star review. I would not recommend Lance as your salesperson. read more

We went in mid-January and it's mid-April now and we are still arguing with their service advisors Marty Lake & Dave Workman & service manager Jeff Steibel attempting to resolve this. I drove an hour to buy a truck they had advertised online, before they really start working on your deal they tell you about the standard add on's you have to pay for, fabric treatment $699, their profit $1400 because there isn't much mark up on cars now days, and their "free extended warranty", then they take away advertised incentives before low balling your trade. After leaving I drove 15 minutes to a competitor and bought a truck with more options, no games, in and out for $6000 less. read more

I went to Bommarito to look into buying a Chevrolet Corvette Z06. I was told that it would require a $1000 deposit to have my name put on a list. I have zero issue with that. But, I was told the deposit is absolutely non refundable. I had a deposit on the C8 corvette that required a 1.5 year wait. Again, for a limited production , high demand car, I would expect this. The Z06 is a 2023 model and it is unknown how long before enough are made to satisfy demand. They have no idea how many they will get yet are adding names to the list for $1000 dollars. They have approx 25 on that list. They have $25000 dollars they do not have to give back. Every single one of these cars will sell the instant they are produced. Doing this with a deposit is sleazy business tactics. It is a reflection of the dealership's ethics. If they do stuff like this , it stands to reason a lot of other practices are unethical. Taking the deposit with no possibility of a refund is poor practice. They could at least give a time limit like 3 years, for example. There are too many other Chevrolet dealerships to deal with than to put up with nonsense like this. read more

Marty Lay is the best! I recently worked with Marty for transmission repairs to our 2017 Tahoe. Marty was invaluable in helping me present my case to the insurance company explaining how the transmission issue was related to a recent front end impact accident. It was a grueling process but Marty stuck by my side the whole way. Once we were given the go ahead from the insurance company to proceed with installing a new transmission Mike, the technician, had the car ready in no time! I walked out with a brand new car with no title application in hand, only my keys. Two months later, absolutely no one returns my calls about when I am supposed to get my new license plates/if I was the only who had to take care of the registration or them. Only to finally one day two months later get a call saying my "papers were ready" at this point my temporary plates were expired and I now find out at the DMV that the dealership failed to make me aware that sales tax was not included in my loan/purchase price, only their ridiculous administration fee, leaving me to pay $2K + just for sales tax out of pocket at the DMV. I had a 7:00 AM appointment for my son's Camaro on Friday 9/1/23. Something was going on with the convertible top and the trunk would not open. We also had some vibration on the steering wheel when driving it. We were told that they "may" have to charge two diagnostic fees. By noon on 9/1, the car had still not been looked at and they said it was likely, they would not get to it until Tuesday morning due to the holiday weekend. When we spoke to them on Tuesday, they said there is nothing wrong with the top, it functioned perfectly for them. Apparently the latch wasn't closed all the way so it locks the trunk. I guarantee you this took less than five minutes to "diagnose". The second issue, was also quickly identified. The last shop that did an oil change, also rotated the tires. We were not aware that this car has different sized tires in the front and back. Apparently, the mechanic didn't know this either from the other shop, and he rotated them - which made the car ride poorly. For $89, Bommarito said they could rotate the tires back and balance them. We agreed to this...of course, now the car would not be done until Wednesday 9/6. When my son went to pick up the car, we were charged for (2) $200 diagnostic fees + the $89 to rotate and balance the tires. The total bill with tax was over $500. We paid the bill and left. We will NEVER buy a car or send a car there for service. We will tell EVERYONE to not do business with this dealership. I think the service department took advantage of us, they did not communicate at all (we had to call to get updates), and they intentionally over-charged us for their services. read more
