Cute 50s style motel right on St Pete's Beach. My family has been coming here for 40+ years. We have stayed at other locations around the area but this place triumphs any other experience we have had. They have a bar & grille called Sandbar Bills. They have AMAZING burgers. Locals come and eat here as well as guests from other resorts. They have a large outdoor seating so you can sit in the shade or the sun depending on what you are wanting that day. It's right on the beach so you have an amazing view. Perfect for watching the sun set at the end of the day. @stl.foodie

The Bon-Aire is like coming home! The staff are welcoming and understand what hospitality and customer service mean! If you are looking for a place to stay where you feel like family, this is the place for you!

What a gem! We stayed here over night on an impulse, and we are so glad we did. My sister-in-law told us their bar's rum runners we're good, and that's all we heard before arriving. We hot a nice suite with mini kitchnett which was perfect for our family. It had two heated, clean pools, which our kids loved. We loved the Sandbar so close from the pool and in view of the beach! The lady bartender there, we did not get her name, was vivacious, personable and Wonder woman bartender/server extraordinaire. We had a great stay, fantastic service and good times!

Don't judge a hotel by it's outside sign and front lobby area is what I learned on this trip. If I was driving on Gulf Blvd to find a hotel, I would have kept on driving past as this isn't the type of hotel I usually stay at. To say I was pleasantly surprised is a huge understatement. One of my friends recommended the Bon Aire as she and her husband have stayed numerous times and have enjoyed it. She kept telling me, "it's not fancy, so don't expect a lot." I agree, it isn't fancy, but it's just what I was looking for; a clean, comfortable place to stay for a quick weekend get-a-way with one of my girlfriends. We stayed for three nights - we were informed that we'd have to change rooms after the first night but would be able to leave our luggage with them. My ONLY complaint is not having a secure place to store our luggage. We were told to "just leave it in the lobby" unfortunately leaving a suitcase full of my personal belongings next to a map rack on the other side (where customers walk) near the exit door is not my idea of a safe holding place for luggage. People are walking in and out of the lobby all day. We weren't the only guests changing rooms that day (other suitcases sitting out) - so either they need to do a better job of booking rooms so this doesn't happen as frequently or have a locked area to put luggage. Even putting luggage in the back office or behind the front desk would have been a reasonable accommodation. It's something that I would expect from a hotel if they are asking guests to do this as the majority of us are flying in and don't have a car to put them in when we're waiting for our new room. The majority of the staff was awesome!! Had a couple issues with one employee at the front desk who I'll call "J" who was not at all friendly, very short, and on the rude side. However the rest of the staff at the front desk, housekeeping, and bartenders at Sandbar Bills were great! The staff especially at Sandbar Bill's were super friendly and the drinks were great as was the food and reasonably priced, which is something that doesn't always happen, especially in a touristy area. I loved how the hotel was literally steps away from the beach. This is my first time to St. Pete Beach but not Florida. I'm used to having to walk a long way to get to the sand, not here - it's amazing! Our second room was on the second floor which I would request again as many of the early risers were grouping up for their morning coffee (5:30am) right outside our first floor bedroom window and it got a bit noisy. This hotel is also within walking distance to Walgreens and Publix as well as cute and delicious restaurants and morning lattes All in all, I had a great time!! I highly recommend the Bon Aire. If you're looking for a beachy resort, and have no agenda, and want to stay in a family owned resort that takes you back in time, this is the place for you. I would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the lack of secure luggage storage.

The Bon-Aire is an amazing place. Whether as a couple or the whole family, this is the best place to stay. It has two heated pools, the best bar on the beach, and is right on the Gulf. We have stayed twice and have loved both stays. They offer rooms in various sizes. Some have full kitchens, while others have mini kitchens, but larger bathrooms. The food and Rum Runners at Sand Bar Bills bring in people from all over St. Pete Beach. The staff is also wonderful. One of the cleaners accidentally vacuumed over my phone charger cord, and they replaced it the same day. It will remind you of a 1970's motel but it is completely updated. What an amazing place!

Such a cute, quaint motel right on the beach! Your room is just steps from the sand, making it easy to come and go. The beach is never crowded either. The bar is great for all your food and drink needs, no need to ever leave! You can grab lunch and walk right back onto the beach. Everyone is friendly and makes this place feel like home. It's a hidden gem for sure!

The views are beautiful, and the location is right on the beach. There are plenty of spaces in the lobby for working, plenty of meeting rooms (or ball rooms if you're there for a formal event), and areas to just relax or work. The resort provides live music various days of the week as well. I will say that I was surprised about the lack of dining options. There is a lobby bar (which doesn't open until 3pm), and just two restaurant options. Maritana is only open a few days a week and not open until 5:30pm, although the lobby bar does serve a few small plates. The Society Table has a bar within their restaurant (Rowe Bar I believe), and I experienced both as they both have different menus. The lobby bar menu is small but great; the Wagyu Sliders and charcuterie board were both delicious. The wine list is fairly extensive as well. I dined at the society table for lunch on the day that I left and I got the Gumbo with jalapeño cornbread. This was very delicious; I do feel there should've been more than a few pieces of chopped up shrimp. My waitress was wonderful though and very kind as well as the hostess. For the days we were provided food by the resort for the work conference, I was very impressed! All of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options were incredibly extensive, fresh, and delicious. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The room service menu although overpriced and included a $5 "delivery charge," is very extensive and tasty. For example, an omelet with toast (small salad included with the omelette), was almost $60 including tip. That being said, it was the best omelette I've ever had. The guest services for room service and the cleaners were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Evan! Do note that this is a cashless resort. There are a few shops on the first floor for souvenirs, basic necessities for traveling, and then an adorable little shop/café with ice cream, coffee, wine, snacks, and drinks. On to the room! I really enjoyed my room. I feel like for one person or even two, it's a pretty spacious room. The bed was very comfortable as well as pillows. They cleaned my room each day, and provided new towels. The bathroom was clean and a decent size for one person. All of the events that the hotel put on for our conference were outstanding. We had a welcome party and a beach party, and I was incredibly impressed. The food was delicious, the staff incredibly attentive and kind, and the music wonderful! The Don CeSar was the perfect place for our conference and I would highly recommend a company conference there. Between the delicious food, impeccable service, beautiful resort, and location right on the beach, I would recommend this spot for an event, quick getaway, or staycation.

It's in a great location, directly next to the Undertow and just a couple of blocks from Smileys Snack Shack, what else do you need? The room is dated, the bathroom is tiny, but it has a kitchenette with 2 burner stove and a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, plates glasses, silverware.... That's about it for the positives. It is a VERY dated hotel so if you like fresh and new, look at the 2014-opened Hotel Zamora a hundred yards down Gulf Blvd, however it is not beachfront, so that's its huge problem. The rooms here you can tell have seen some better years with patches and paint easily spotted on the walls. The appliances in the kitchenette are very old but perfectly functional if you want to enjoy a week on the beach without the expense of going to restaurants for every meal. If you're wanting to catch a football game on TV, better to visit a bar because the rooms still have old school tube televisions. The front desk is not staffed 24x7, so there are restrictions on check in and check out times to keep in mind. My only real complaint about this place is security. The room I stayed in had broken locks on at least two of the windows making it impossible to lock them. The door locks still use traditional keys, so who knows if someone has copied yours in the past. The rooms on the south side of the property (not sure about the north side) have a sidewalk area and second door on that back side exiting from the bedroom; it would be easy for someone to break into the room from that site without it being very obvious. So if you have some true valuables, you probably won't feel comfortable leaving them in the room. I'm not sure if the front desk has some more secure method of storing items for guests.
