We went here for the rooftop view which is amazing. The food is really good also as well as the cocktails. This is a great spot on Pass A Grille and although I think Hurricanes has the best view of the gulf from their rooftop, Berkley's is close. The food here is much better than Hurricanes if that helps with the decisions. It is a step above everything else around except for maybe Grace but they are close as well. We were unsure how much we wanted to eat on this trip but we were happy with the coctails while we decided! My old fashion was well made and nice pours. Deb was able to get her special cocktails as the bartender was really good. We got the sausage board. It was really good! Some many great flavors and was a good start. We have eaten downstairs, upstairs and even gotten take out during covid lockdown and everytime the food has been amazing but for what we get it seems a little high. I would give them 5 stars for the food and atmosphere but I feel the pricing is a little high but not enough to keep us away but enough to make us think about how much we eat and drink when we go. Repeat customers. I now have dined in the main restaurant as well as on the rooftop oyster bar. The rooftop is chic and well designed with views of the water on both sides. You have to take an elevator to get up there. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. She explained everything she could about the oysters before we ordered and made sure that the ones that were roasted did not contain anything with gluten per my request. All of the roasted oysters were interesting. I didn't really like them and I can't say I would order them again. They just had some flavor combinations that I did not love. Next, the raw oysters were fabulous. I believe we tried three or four types. Now, let me add, I wasn't really aware at the time, but their oysters are actually very expensive compared to any other restaurant in the Tampa Bay area. For a dozen oysters and 6 roasted, our bill was almost 115$$$ So beware of that. We dined downstairs, and dinner outside was fabulous as well. The vibe and ambiance were great. I love that this hotel and restaurant is located 2 or 3 minutes away from the beach. It's great for a beach day and dinner date, which is what we do when we come here. I would highly recommend coming at sunset so you can watch from the rooftop. 3 stars because I do think the oysters are overpriced, and the roasted oyster combinations were off-putting. But I would still come back here and just order fewer oysters and skip the roasted. read more

Great inventive, Southern-influenced food & cocktails. We enjoyed our table on the covered sidewalk, met a lot of nice people who stopped to pet our sweet dog, Ace. In line with the Southern cuisine influence, I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was exceptionally tasty, and I could have had their Cajun mustard Cole slaw, French fries or the roasted Brussels sprouts. I chose the sprouts, and boy, we're they delicious. My cocktail was the amaro, hibiscus simple syrup and ?? I loved it! A note-perfect cocktail. My husband had the fish and chips, which was a huge portion of redfish, interestingly thick curly shaped fries, with a very yummy re oil Ade sauce to dip in. I dipped a few bites of my fried chicken in it: delicious! We loved the beach but upscale vibe. The waiter was professional and attentive, and we got to meet the owner, who was friendly, charming, and a dog owner and dog lover. The huge photos of the Border collie inside the restaurant were of his beloved dog, Dewey. We got to watch the sunset over the Gulf from our table, a very nice end to a satisfying meal. I want to give this place five stars for my AFTER dinner experience on the rooftop with our server, Ed. He was amazing. He truly made cocktails and oysters on the rooftop feel like a fine dining experience. 10 out of 10 for Ed. The food at the Dewey was also nice. We had the Brussels sprouts as a starter along with an amazing seasonal cocktail. I had the soft shell crab dish and it was amazing! The taste was fantastic but the portion size is small, so be warned. My friend had the burrata salad and it was just cherry tomatoes cut up with a few sprigs of greens and the cheese on top. Oh and a long piece of bread. Her side of tofu was bland too. We didn't try dessert but a nice desert cheese plate would probably make up for the smaller main courses. I'll definitely be back. Once you're done with dinner be sure to head upstairs to visit Ed. He's the best and so is that view on the rooftop! read more

I've been looking forward to trying this rooftop bar. The views are beautiful, amazing view of the ocean (sunset!!!) and the intercostal. The drinks were ok and the food was very so-so. We got a charcuterie board, and for the price I was expecting a really nice cheese/meat presentation but it was very basic! I would suggest just grabbing drinks here for the view but I would have dinner elsewhere next time! read more

We had our wedding reception on the rooftop at The Berkeley and it was a dream. People are still raving about the food which is something you love to hear about after your wedding! Also cannot forget to mention how accommodating the staff was, especially Mary and Amy. Mary was absolutely amazing the night of and made sure we were attended to. Not only that, we came back the next day and we had brunch there the next morning! As for Amy, I cannot THANK her enough for answering my countless emails and questions. The Dewey and Berkley Beach Club goes well and beyond a small restaurant and beach hotel. The hospitality of the staffing is incredible. I had my wedding reception at the Dewey and most of my wedding guests stayed at the Berkley Beach Club. Despite it being a small wedding guest list, I cannot stress the utmost respect, charm, and hospitality I and my guests received while staying at this facility. I coordinated with Stephanie, who was gracious and very attentive to my requests for a luncheon reception. She even noticed all the guests staying for the weekend with a last name similar to mine and reached out about ensuring that we had a breakfast (complete with mimosas!) delivered to our room on the big day which was a day traditionally they do not deliver breakfasts as the kitchen is not open. I live in town, however my guests stayed in a studio and the 2 bedroom suite with balcony on Level 3. It was the perfect home base for our wedding party. The stylist had a great place in the kitchen to set up while everyone was still able to freely move around. The large porch is beautiful to soak up the winter Florida sun and the rooms are comfortable. In the 2 bedroom the groom and I were able to easily get ready in the same unit without ever seeing each other! There was an in suite washer and dryer that was great to fluff some last minute wedding attire. Even after my reception my parents took their take and bake lasagna from Mazzaros (hint for out of town guests: don't miss Mazzaros!) and had a fabulous dinner right in the room from the oven provided. For someone planning an event of any kind and considering this facility to host: you will not be disappointed. From the staff, to the food, to the facilities, the Dewey and Berkley Beach Club will ensure you have the absolute best possible experience. I cannot recommend it enough. read more

It's not a hotel, or an apartment, or a B&B. What is it? Amazing. We are staying here for 8 days and don't want to leave. The patio with a view of the water. The rooftop bar. The breakfast they deliver (free) each morning. The wonderful restaurant on the ground floor. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, fishing from the pier, the beach. The "apartment" is perfect, with W&D, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. And a huge porch. 15 min to St Pete's. Just a perfect place to stay. You will love it. read more

The venue is cute we has the smoked salmon plates which were light and just what we were looking for. Our server had an odd habit of correcting everything we said for the order for example mg guest ordered the rose that's a Grenache so the server called it the vineyard name and we both shrugged. Then we ordered the specific menu item listen "smoked salmon" and she corrected me "mmm hmm the tartine" and then did the same for my friend. It was a little pretentious and annoying. So the venue was ok but the service I could do without. read more

The Berkeley Beach Club is an amazing find!! We just ended our week long stay there, and they exceeded all of our expectations!! Our suite was basically like renting a condo, fully laid out with everything one could need for a week (or weeks) long vacation! Not only is there a full kitchen with all appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, range, microwave, garbage disposal and coffee pot), there was also utensils, china and glassware. Then there was the utility room, with the full sized washer/dryer, tall cabinet and shelving unit! The sitting area was very comfortably sized, with a big screen tv and a balcony off of it with views of quaint 8th Ave and the beach in one direction, and the bayou and Merry Pier in the other. The bedroom and bath were perfectly sized and comfortable...a makeup mirror and hairdryer were included...and the shower was nice and big. On top of all that, everything was also very clean!! Everything about this hotel was well thought out, including guest access to beach towels, beach chairs and umbrelllas (as well as toys, etc, for any kids you may have brought along)! The customer service is excellent...the best I think I've ever encountered! Alix was amazing from start to end, answering questions and providing us with whatever we needed both before and during our stay! The hotel is so conveniently located to everything worth doing in Pass A Grille...shopping, beach (1/2 block), bars and restaurants, including their own Dewey restaurant! We received a lovely continental breakfast each morning, except for Saturday, when The Dewey has an amazing brunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed seated in their charming courtyard! Our waiter, Shane, was excellent (we also had him at dinner the night before) and the female bartender, whose name I failed to get, made an awesome espresso martini...they were both delightful and very customer oriented! The rooftop bar is fabulous for cocktails and sunset views, plus there is even a small private side for guests only, which is also convenient to the bar! So much fun to go up for sunsets, which are incredible in PAG!! All in all, we were blown away by our stay at the BBC and will definitely be staying here on future trips down! read more

Where do I start???? From the moment we arrived, we did not want for anything. Our room was beautiful, very clean, spacious, and quiet, the fully functional kitchen was an added bonus. The beds are super comfortable, and the blackout drapes are great! The bathrooms are also large and very clean (hairdryer included ladies). We had dinner at The Dewey and The Rooftop and it did not disappoint , to sum up an entire weekend of culinary delights, we had crab cakes, fried Brussels sprouts, Seafood Campechana (stunning dish), Dewey Cobb (delicious), shrimp and grits, Softshell Cioppino (simply amazing), cast iron seared angus bistro steak, Buffalo cauliflower, Crab salad and desserts by Mike's Pies (always perfection). The cocktails and wine selection were excellent, Ashley the sommelier from Tampa made wonderful suggestions before we got there but I did notice patrons were thrilled with the selection. The service was top notch, we spoke with Alix and Dean before we arrived, we received all pertinent information before we arrived which led to a seamless check in. Shortly after we arrived, we met Ben the Sous Chef who was very kind and maybe wonderful suggestions for dinner. Louis, Edward, and Babs who are all servers are the most knowledgeable and made our experience 5 star all the way! Melissa, Dean and especially Dave made sure everything was up to par and it was. Dave set up a beach day for us with tent, cooler full of snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic) and chairs and once we were finished at the beach, he broke it down, white glove treatment all the way! Chef Tony is a Master in the kitchen and Maryann is a consummate hostess, we will be back, and I hope this helps future patrons make the good decision to stay at The Berkeley Beach Club and dine with The Dewey. This place was great, went for NYE and it was the perfect outdoor, socially distanced dinner. We sat on the rooftop and enjoyed our meal, even getting to see some fireworks! Wasn't overly packed which made us feel safe and our waitress was lovely! Even gave us free champagne, when the food took a few extra minutes (we didn't mind we were enjoying the view) totally recommend checking this place out! If I could give this place more stars I would. Initially had some issues with our reservation for 6 but Josephine worked it all out for us and we got seats on the rooftop.
