First of all, easy-to-read signage and easy-to- find sections, including the bulk section (for things like nuts and grains) and the salad bar. A broad selection of healthy food, fresh produce, and locally-roasted coffee is crucial for me, and they nail all that. But they also have excellent sandwiches made to order at the deli counter, so if you go in hungry, I guarantee you'll need to get something. You don't have to be a member to fall in love with this store, but if you become one, you get to help decide how the place is run. People-power FTW! What could make this better, you ask? Well, they also have cold brew & kombucha on tap for the millennials, cafe seating in the front, and oh by the way, regular community events in their parking lot. This store is gigantic. Not only that, but it's ready-to-go food sections are immense. Extremely well, equipped, full shelves, great variety of organic products, a huge meat section, an entire containers full of frozen fish, in addition to fresh seafood at the meat counter. I found the service to be excellent, with numerous people ambling by filling their carts while busy employees, restocked shelves consistently. For the life of me, I don't understand why this grocery chain does not have self checkout aisles. I invariably do my own to make sure that my vegetables are not bruised or damage when I get home, which usually is the case when I go through a checkout counter. I really like this place. I think there's actually more food content in various pot pies. Shepherds Pie originated somewhere between England, Ireland and Scotland a few hundred years ago. There are a few different versions of it. Some is made with lamb, some beef,and I've also heard pork. My family originated in England. The Shepherds Pie I had through the years was made with beef, peas and mashed potatoes on top. Simmer the beef, then warm the peas in hot water slightly, whipped mash potatoes on top, then bake. It's one of my all time favorite dishes. I've been known to get the iron skillet out once and awhile and put on a kitchen performance, LOL. Blake's was tasty, but small, non-filling.

There are also gas pumps out in front (12 fueling positions) and a Blue Rhino tank exchange area. I stop in at this 7-Eleven quite often for quick cheap eats on the go including those tornados (hot rollers) and hot dogs, which are 3 for $3 plus tax and $5 pizzas. The staff will serve you those hot foods (not self serve like at Irving and Speedway) and cash you out. The gas prices here are comparable to the other gas stations along Loudon Road, usually not the cheapest in town nor the most expensive either.
