This place needs to be under investigation by Nevada, it's ironic they have every single ATM closed or out of service.. I went to the gate and I asked can I use my card as an ATM? Went in to the restaurant for my 29th birthday and had a nice breakfast, my mother in law wanted to gamble so she sat down and I was approached by a man who wanted to see my ID which was when I realized I didn't have it (it was in my car) but I explained to him that it was my birthday and he started telling me to not be around the machines which is fair, but his demeanor was so intense right away, I literally felt uncomfortable. He didn't tell me to leave at that point just that I couldn't stand by the machines, so I went to find my man and father in law to tell them I didn't have my ID and because the man's attitude was making me feel scared, but as I was looking for them in the casino the man started following me and got on the phone, watching me walk around looking for my family. Once I found them we went to get my mother in law from the machine she was at. We started walking out after mother in law cashed out her voucher and the property manager continued to follow us and asked us to leave AS WE WERE WALKING OUT, I just can't believe what a big deal they made out of this because as we're in our vehicle leaving, cops pull out and ask for our information to give us "trespassing". He also lied to the cops saying my man "threatened him" which never happened. My man was frustrated that the security was being so rude to me on my birthday. Fucking hilarious. The man was hostile about my presence from the start, and was obviously bored looking for someone's day to ruin. We were out of there within 5 min of him asking for my ID but got kicked out for 3 days because the security had a power trip. Don't worry, never want to be there again and I'm definitely telling all my friends and family to stay away from this hostile environment. You only turn 29 once and now I had this sour memory just because the man thought as I was looking around for my family, he assumed I was ignoring the laws and was going to try gambling anyway? We needed to find a waypoint stop on our way through Nevada and Bonanza advertised that they have RV spots. It is just a parking lot, but it is paved. FHU for $15 a night, you can't beat that in this day and age. Luckily we were there mid week so there were one 3 other spots taken out of 20. It would have been very difficult to get into a spot with our 40' motorhome otherwise. There is a Safeway across the street to stock up on supplies and just down the road there is a gas station that has separate pumps for diesel that you can pull through, very handy. I actually came out ahead in their casino, so it was a decent one night stop for us. read more

We stayed here for one night on our way to Great Basin NP. It's a Bonanza Casino and Super 8 motel. It was fine. Friend booked 2 rooms which each had 2 queen size beds and non-smoking. It was Wed 7/2/08 almost 11pm when we checked in. The room I had was a bit stuff, but they had an air-conditioning unit that's pretty loud. Small bathroom w/ shower and towels. One sink and a coffee machine. TV available. Continental breakfast is just breakfast bars: strawberry, blueberry, peanut butter, or apple. They had these drinks too: orange juice, tea bags, or coffee. Heidi's Family Restaurant is inside the motel/casino. Didn't check out. Room was almost $60 each w/ AAA discount which is the same as AARP. Since I shared a room it was $30 for me. Cheaper than Best Western that's in Fallon, NV. Gas station next door. read more

What a dive. Friendly staff but this place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. At night time the casino becomes a tweaker zone

First off, if I could give this shit hole less than one star, I would. After being on the road for nearly 9 hours, I walk up to the customer service desk, only to be completely ignored for 5 MINUTES! She wasn't busy! I was the only person standing there! She wasn't on the phone! What was she doing?! Idk where the hell she learned her customer service skills, but she sucked, like hard. When she finally got around to helping me, she questioned me about reserving two rooms (3 people+1 Diva= 2 shitty rooms) and wanted to know who was going to be staying in it... the rest of my party?! duh. She then made me go out and get one of them to sign for the other room. As we were wrapping up this hellish check-in experience, I asked her if she could recommend any good restaurants... she was totally disinterested and you could tell... she was horrible. The room smelled of smoke and vinegar... disgusting. The only good thing about this place is that the AC worked wonderfully. Also, Fallon smelled a circus, like straight up cow shit. I couldn't figure out if it was the locals, or if in fact cows were hiding out somewhere... while standing outside though, I heard cows mooing in the distance. I never did see them... hmmm... Either way, our party decided that the next time we find ourselves driving to Vegas and need a place to rest, we will stay in Fernley because A) it's nicer and B) it's nicer. read more

Fallon?! Fallon?! Fallon?! No, not Jimmy Fallon, but Fallon, NV. Where the heck is that?! Its about an hour east of Reno, NV. What am I doing here? I can't say. However, I did need a place to stay and there was a Super 8 Motel with a small casino called, the Bonanza Inn & Casino. I arrived around 2:10am from a long drive from Los Angeles, but I had to stop over at Reno to take a glimpse of the city before heading east. I was greeted at the counter by motel duty manager, Jessica. I had a reservation for two nights, but I came in late. Since it was Labor Day weekend, I thought this motel would be empty in Fallon since there is not much going on, but it was crowded. After signing my registration, I got my two key cards, my Wi-Fi access codes, and two free bar drinks. I was assigned Room #505. It was a simple room, but with a nice Vizio Flatscreen TV. The Wi-Fi worked throughout my stay since I had to do some items online. The basic amenities from towels, soap and coffee are provided. There was one freebies I was expecting to use. The free drinks vouchers. Well, I didn't drink right after checking in. I had some duties to do and before heading to Reno, I stopped by the bar inside the casino. It's a small bar and is frequented by regulars in the area. I met my hostess, Michelle, and she gave some great advice that I usually wouldn't hear in Los Angeles. Stop by and say hello to Michelle. I got my two free drinks and a couple more to erase some of the bad moods I had in the day. Alcohol can do that. Fallon is a dead city, but it was an interesting city. This place was great, IMO. Rooms were $60 out the door with everything, taxes, etc. included. The rooms were clean, didn't stink too bad, hot shower with comfy towels. The bed was fine, not the dream bed they have at the Westin, but just fine for $60 a night. We checked 3 other spots in Fallon and this was the cheapest place in town. Every guest gets free continental breakfast, A FREE BEER AT THE BAR, and $2 off at their attached restaurant. TV has HBO and most basic cable channels. Chances are you're not in Fallon, NV to hang out.... this place is an excellent choice for an overnight crash place. Friendly and attractive front-desk staff didn't hurt the situation either. Being spoiled by the casinos in Fernley, I walked into this place with little expectations especially since they have four large billboards along Alt-50. To me billboards placed within 100 ft from each other means desperation. We arrived to a semi-vacant casino floor but immediately saw some of my favorite machines like Hoot Loot and Betti The Yetti to name a few. I landed on one of the machines and immediately made five bucks! From there I stayed up and that makes for a good place in my eyes. I give them three stars for now because I didn't stay long but I'm looking forward to my next visit! read more

Super 8 by Wyndham runs the Inn part of this establishment, and they do a great job. I stayed here twice on my way to and from a family gathering in Utah. Both times, I got great rates and friendly service. Taryn remembered me when I checked in the second time. She made sure I got a great rate and even doubled my free drink coupons! Rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast included coffee, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and baked goods. In the bar, Celine served up drinks with efficiency and smiles. We come to JD Slingers to eat and play keno a few times a month. Today we had the WORST experience with the keno writer Blandina. She didn't come around for 8 games, when she finally passed through the restaurant so we could play, she Messed up the numbers to the games and argued with me about redoing it. This is a pretty basic hotel for the $60-$90 range a night, but I'd say it's worth more toward the low end. I'm not sure how much it is because my company paid the bill, but I've had to stay here for weeks on end and it's not the worst place to stay. The access throughout the hotel and location are a plus, decent room size, but the biggest perk I'd say is the bar downstairs with really cheap drinks. And yes, you do get a complimentary drink each night you stay. The casino is okay I guess if you gamble and like machines. All in all, not a bad spot in a pinch with the budget. read more

This is a Super 8 motel attached to the casino. I picked this as a half-way point between my origination city and Las Vegas and it was perfect for that. The rooms are inexpensive and my room was a typical room, but I have to say it smelled very clean, it was clean, the bathroom was clean, the shower water pressure was good, and everyone I talked to was friendly that worked there. I didn't go to the casino at all except to walk through it to register at the front desk, so I can't comment on that part of it. For the price, the room got me exactly what I needed. It seemed safe, the bed linens were clean, it had a nice flat screen TV, etc. My room did not have a microwave or fridge, just FYI but I didn't need those things either. read more

We started coming here as a quick get away from home about 6 years ago. We stayed here because we travel with a small dog and they are the only place in town that takes pets. The rooms were decent and clean for the price and we always had a fun time in the casino. Never got rich but could play awhile for a reasonalbe amount of money. But over the last couple of years they have steadly gone downhill, the "non-smoking pet rooms" reek of smoke and bad cleaner smells, the carpets are awful and the bath rooms need a good cleaning. They now charge $20 for a pet, which is fine if they check the room and find a problem, but should not be so high if the pet doesn't cause any problems. The casino also reeks of smoke, and has many new machines that just rip you off without letting you play very long. We are not coming back here, there are much better places closer to home. We used to enjoy the older machines and retro type casino, but no more. Too bad. read more

I cannot give this business more love! We've stayed here before and after Burning Man for the past 2 years, and they are absolutely perfect for what we need. $52-$61 per night, free drink coupons, free wifi, clean, hot showers, comfy beds. Mike at the front desk was extremely courteous and helpful. Small problems were immediately resolved. SO worth the extra 25 minutes down the road from Fernley. Safeway across the street for last minute supply runs. You have to be okay with a smoke-smelling reception area actually inside the casino, but the smell doesn't migrate. There are rooms in a separate building if you're concerned. Coffee wasn't bad, and breakfast was basic. But who sweats the small stuff when it's 3 am an you're covered in playa dust!! As long as we live in Phoenix, this place will be our home-away-from-Home. read more
