Absolutely unacceptable experience with Holiday Inn Express Fallon, NV -- BE WARNED I made a reservation weeks in advance for a suite at this location to accommodate my family of five. Three days prior to check-in, I was contacted by the hotel informing me that they would not be able to honor my reservation because no suites were available. Their only proposed "solution"? To book two separate rooms at a higher price than my original reservation -- completely unacceptable. Not only did they refuse to honor the rate I had originally booked, but when I reached out to IHG's corporate support team, I was met with indifference and zero accountability, despite IHG's widely advertised Reservation Guarantee policy. Because of their incompetence and refusal to honor my confirmed reservation, I am now scrambling to find alternative accommodations with only one day left before arrival. To make matters worse, this is a holiday weekend (July 4th), so hotel prices have skyrocketed due to low supply and high demand -- something that could have been entirely avoided had Holiday Inn Express simply stood by their commitment. This kind of bait-and-switch tactic is not only unethical, but it leaves loyal IHG customers completely stranded. I will absolutely reconsider staying at any Holiday Inn Express or IHG property in the future based on this experience. I've stayed here at this Fallon location a couple of times before, the last being a little over 4 years ago. The place looks about the same and seems well maintained, unlike where we were gonna stay out by the Gigafactory. That hotel is just five years old and is all run down now and not maintained. The Holiday Inn Express here costs more, but it's worth it for all the amenities, like the included full hot breakfast buffet and 24/7 coffee. There's a pool, but we didn't use it. The rooms were all clean and everything worked like it's supposed to including the WiFi. We're out here for work, so I need reliable internet connection without having to go to Starbucks. I'll stay here again if I'm in Fallon again. read more

Stayed here recently and was completely blown away! Greeted at the front desk upon my arrival and the positive customer service attitude continued throughout the entire stay. Same night, asked for a late check out at departure and was taken care of; huge plus! Came down after breakfast that Saturday morning to get some water before heading out for a hike and the area was understandably closed. Even still the staff went out of their way to get us what we needed before taking off. My last day there, we woke up a little late and the staff was kind enough to extend the breakfast a little longer so we could grab some food before checking out. Under major construction and they didn't disclose. I had an allergy attack due to the wet plaster and dust everywhere. The reception counter was full is dust and construction materials everywhere. When we questioned the facilities condition, the front receptionist was rude and physically bothered by the questions. It was clear she didn't want guests let alone anyone with a health concerns who physically can't stay they under the conditions. This management team clearly don't care. If you are great with animals staying in your room, or the smell of previous animals that have stayed in your hotel room doesn't bug you, or the smell of weed doesn't bother you, then you'll be totally fine staying here. If you aren't, you will want to pick a different place. There was a large pile of dog poop in the hall by our sister in laws room. That seems absolutely absurd to me for a place that charges $200 a night and has me wondering how often that happens in the rooms, on beds, floors, etc. If you're going to allow pets, at a minimum don't allow them in every single room. Anyone that has allergies to animals will not want to stay here. Not to mention the barking. The pool is great and is open 24/7. Staff was friendly. Breakfast is nice to have, bacon was very undercooked though. It's outdated and seems to have gone downhill from allowing pets. read more

The positives: Safe, convenient location Private parking lot (free) Clean, spacious, quiet room Comfortable bed Pet friendly The hotel is nearby many food options (nothing gourmet, but lots of choices). It is also right down the street from the Nugget Casino for anyone looking for activities/gaming. The negatives: All amenities are still closed due to COVID (Oct 2020) - not their fault. Breakfast given was a brown bag, to-go breakfast sack. NOTE: The pet fee is $30 for the first night (up to 2 pets) with $10 for each additional pet. After the first night, the pet fee is $10 per pet/per night. Not going to waste your or my time with a detailed review. In short, avoid this place unless you have no other choice. The "manager" Ezra is a piece of work. Maintenance staff is incompetent which leads to a poor state of affairs for the property. Guaranteed you will have some issue, maintenance will not fix it, you will deal with Ezra, and leave with less money in your pocket, a poor nights rest, and pissed off. We like to stay at HIE when we travel whenever possible. We don't travel a lot, so it's a treat. Now and then we stay overnight and book a suite just for fun. This was my husbands birthday trip. So we booked a jacuzzi suite and traveled an hour to Fallon. Wow! I'm impressed. Leave it to Fallon to out do Carson...And South Tahoe! Both indoor and outdoor pools. The layout is different than we've had before. The bedroom "living room" separations nice. The bedroom and jacuzzi/shower is all in very large room. Very spacious and comfortable. We want that in our dream home Literally the only thing I can say I wasn't happy with was the unwrapped tea bags. But, since I brought my own tea bags that didn't matter to me - but it might matter to someone else. Everything is clean, even the balcony and table. I could live here! read more

We are musicians on tour and love the Holiday Inn Express chain, but not this one. After a long road trip, we were welcomed by a broken elevator, and a three flight staircase, with heavy gear, and not even a justifiable reason for this inconvenience. Our room smelt like a locker room, and when we thought it was isolated to just ours, the other band mates rooms smelt just as bad, if not worse. Breakfast was mediocre, at best. I booked a 2 room suite jacuzzi room for 3 nights this morning with my IHG points. When I checked in I was given a standard room and was told the suite was not available yet it was available when I booked it. My wife is a gm of a Hilton. She said it sounds like the hotel sold the room from under me because they didn't want to give it up for points. My wife called the hotel and inquired as to what the occupancy rate was. The front desk said there was lots of rooms available. This means the hotel doesn't want to sell for points because during low occupancy times they don't get paid much on points. Bottom line is...NOT MY PROBLEM!! I booked a room and shouldve gotten the room I booked. Bait and switch is what happened. So upset with the hotel I asked for a refund and slept in my vehicle. read more

When we drive from our home in Bend to or through Las Vegas, it's an overnight trip. And we typically stop in Fallon for that overnight. We've stayed at three hotels in Fallon over the last dozen years of making this drive and this HIE is definitely the class of the company. So we'll be staying here again in a couple of weeks and figured it was worth a review as to why this is hands down our favorite hotel in Fallon. 1. Convenient location off the freeway yet quiet at night. 2. Friendly desk staff. 3. Clean, clean, clean...public spaces and rooms. Pride of ownership shines. Literally. 4. Spacious rooms, comfy beds, everything is well maintained. 5. Free breakfast in the lobby and while we're not so much hotel breakfast eaters, there is always fruit and coffee to keep us happy. And here's a fun "perk". This hotel sits across the parking lot from a casino. Not a great casino, actrually a rather seedy one. But the fun part is that Fallon is also home to the Top Gun Naval Flight Training base. And we've met a number of cute servicemen from that base when playing blackjack with them at $5 tables over the years. A couple of years ago, it was a particularly mirthful evening of cards and as we left one of them said we were a lot of fun and we reminded him of...wait for it...his grandparents who also lived in Oregon. Not his parents, his grandparents! How did THAT happen when we weren't looking? :-) read more

Probably the nicest hotel in Fallon Nevada right off of Williams Avenue centrally located near Stockman's Casino very clean and has a killer breakfast. Rates are kind of high for Fallon Nevada but it's nice I had stayed there several years ago. I had visitors from California staying there for several days and they had no complaints. When we stay here we always get the " King Bed 2 Room suite with whirlpool tub" listed on the website. It's usually only around $140/night. Confused reservation staff. Took 15 minutes to make a two night reservation. Checked in and went to room for a nap. Got waken by houskeeping supervisor checking on the room. Did not know I had checked in. So much for the nap. Got called a few hours later and asked if I was the guy who called about the air conditioning not working. Nope. When it came time to check out, had problems with the bill. But the real kicker was they posted onto my credit card the agreed sum plus $25. They said that was for "incidentals" and it would drop off in a few days. Which it did. But if they do that to everyone, how much extra cash do they have in the bank collecting some interest? If that was the end of the story, I would give them three starts. But it is not. TWO MONTHS LATER they went and not only charged me AGAIN for the one night I was to pay, they charged me another night which was suppose to be paid by the hospital. Why did the hospital not pay? Seems the Holiday Inn screwed up the reservation to the point they had no way of printing out a bill to give to the hospital!! No bill so the hospital did not pay. So now I have to get the hospital to pay for the one night they owe so Holiday Inn will drop the $180+ they stuck on my credit card. Talk about using money to get others to do your JOB!!. I either have to run around and get the hospital to pay for one night or I am out an additional $180+ .. The real hoot about this is I have a receipt for the one night I paid at the time I paid it. They have that also but they still charged me for two nights. (Nice thing about paying by credit card is you can dispute the charges, putting the ball back into their field, making them prove I owe for two nights...) I started staying at a different hotel the next trip and I sure am glad I did. Having to do their job once is bad enough, having to do it over and over again would be a nightmare. They now get demoted to one star. (I would go with zero if that was an option!) read more

Bottom line up front: If you want cheap, you're going to get what you paid. Front Desk: Very polite front desk clerks. One or two of them have been there for years and I recognized them immediately. They're very willing to help you out as best as they can. Facility: They have repainted and refurnished the great room. However, the rest of the hotel is just "average" at best. It's showing its age, somewhat. Room: Initial observation is that the room is clean and meets the standards. If you check behind the head of the bed, as I always do for bed bugs and whatnot, it's totally filthy. There were tons of hairs, dirt, and who-knows-what-else. I'm just glad I didn't come away with something. The bathroom was clean but the bathtub reminded me of my grand mother's 1940 style bathtub - small, cramped, and potentially a little dangerous if you don't have those non-slip pads. Breakfast: Standard breakfast, for free, so you can't really complain. Overall Assessment: It's a holiday inn express - not a ritz carlton. You're going to get what you paid. You get free wi-fi, which is a plus. But those pluses don't outweigh the grim I saw behind the headboard of the bed. read more

We try to stay at Holiday Inn Express any time we need a hotel because we usually know what to expect from them. They are generally clean and comfortable and they have the free breakfast in the morning, which is a cost saver when traveling with children. This Holiday Inn Express went far above our expectations. We had been traveling for over 12 hours and were completely exhausted. In hearing this, the person taking our phone reservation (we were still 15 minutes away easily) upgraded us to a suite free of charge! When we got to the hotel, the front desk staff was so friendly and courteous. They made the check in quick and easy so we could get to sleep. We were given free water and snacks as well. When we got to our room on the third floor, it was clean and spacious. The beds were clean and comfortable. We even had a private balcony overlooking the rather spacious outdoor pool. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer to enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools and our lovely room. Breakfast was wonderful the next morning and the woman serving was very accommodating with getting us what we needed. The front desk staff at checkout were extremely friendly as well. Overall a five-star visit and definitely a hotel we'd stay at again and again! read more

Avoid this hotel! We selected this hotel rather than the nearby Best Western because I prefer Holiday Inn and it had two beds available in the room. When I made the reservations, I indicated that we were a party of 3 adults. When we checked in at 6:30pm, we were told our room had been changed and was now one king size bed. We were a party of three adults so that would not work. We were given a room with a king size bed and pull out of sofa (not what we paid for or wanted). We got the keys to the room (which did not work) which the front desk had to correct. Then we went out, when we came back at 2:00 am, we discovered the pull out sofa had no sheets, blankets or pillows. They also only provided us with 2 towels. Again, when I made the reservations, I listed 3 adults would be in the room. All around, a negative experience which will prevent me from staying at Holiday Inn Express. read more

I was glad I made the call to stay at this hotel for a recent conference, having heard that the other options in Fallon were a bit less reliable. Who knew a clean room was such a rarity here? In any case, my two nights here were great, as it was quiet (outside of the cows lowing when I left my window open one night), clean, within walking distance of the conference center. Staff were helpful, and while I didn't partake in any of the amenities (breakfast, pool, etc.), the coffee was not nearly as bad as it tends to be in most hotels of this caliber. That's not faint praise, either. So suck it up and book here if you happen to be in Fallon - you'll be glad you did. read more

I have to admit when I was booking accommodations for a night in Fallon, I was a little skeptical when the highest star rating for all the hotels/motels in the city was The Holiday Inn Express at 2.5 stars. I guess never judge a hotel by its star rating? Yay! I'm a fan of Fallon's Holiday Inn Express. The staff here are super friendly, never once asking us to keep it down, a group of 12 of us loitered in the hotel lobby sitting area late at night, and they were very cool about giving us a place to hang out, since there's not much to do in Fallon. The check in/check out process took less than 2 minutes. The rooms are HUGE, and very clean. And to my pleasant surprise, they host a free breakfast! Eggs, bagels, cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, yummy yummy muffins....for free99!! That was the icing on the cake. We would stay in this hotel only BUT NOT ANYMORE! We paid for rooms in November but the roads were closed due to snow. I called 48 hrs before arrival to say roads closed. The hotel person on phone said they would hold our $$ for the next time we would come. Well, I called two wks before arrival and told them this credit we had. The manager, Ezra, said we see you had reservations but we will not credit you the rooms. He didn't speak to us. He spoke thru his counter person. To this date, he have never returned our calls (which we made 6 calls total). Very bad manager. Also, we paid for this arrival and when we came back into our room the room was not made up at all. Continuing my motorcycle trip around central NV I has occasion to stay in Fallon and found this HI Express well located, clean and what a great breakfast to send me off. My room had a fridge but no microwave however, I was able to walk to a place for dinner. The staff works with you whenever you have a need. read more
