Roach in the microwave. He didn't survive this encounter.
    Ron S.

What a roach motel. 1 star is the minimum or it would get a 0 star. Needed a room during a road trip (9/24) and most other places where sold out so we booked here. Showed up after 11 pm after calling ahead. Lady on the phone was nice so I guess that's the star! Check in and they tell me they forgot to tell me that the room was a smoking room. They hesitantly showed me the room and let me smell it. Smelled like smoke but I needed a room. They guy gave me a candle to help mask the odor. I get my bag and go to the room and open the bathroom door and literally hundreds of roaches and little bugs in the shower and on the shower curtain. I was tired so I considered just locking them in the bathroom and trying to sleep a few hours. Then I inspected the rest of the room. Pulled off the comforter and the blanket had nasty stains everywhere. More bugs hiding in the dark. A bug ran off the comforter. Open the microwave and no kidding - a roach inside the microwave. He got zapped. Grabbed my bags and ring the bell at the office and told them there was no way in hell I'm staying in that room. They didn't hesitate or even appear surprised. They wanted $90 for this bug infested room. To their credit,They simply voided my transaction and I was happy to pay $180 across the street at the comfort inn and suites for 7 hrs of sleep. Don't even consider that dump !! I have a video but no individual pictures. (Pulled a couple still shots from the video ) If you stop here then I am sorry that your circumstances in life lead you to the Budget Inn in Fallon NV

This hotel is gross. The door doesn't lock unless you slam it. The floors are so dirty. My pillow case was dirty or stained when I got here. Looked like mascara stains. There are 2 mirrors in the room & one of them did NOT pass the 2 way mirror test. I tried to plug in my phone charger & the outlet sparked. The walls in the bathroom walls have a yellow drip stain running g all alone them & the shower is also gross. The bed screeched & made loud sounds w every single movement i made. Overall this place is sketchy to say the least.

    Mold around tub

Where to even start. The room was dirty, carpet not vacuumed and I stepped on a thorn, dirty walls and doors, mold growing around tub, collected urine on the back of the toilet, stained old sheets. The smell in the room was not pleasant. I decided I could deal with the uncleanliness, not going to complain. What put me over the edge was the cockroach that decided to drop in on me (literally) while I was showering. At the point I cut my stay short. The front desk refused to give me my money back. I told him you have bugs and the room is dirty, his reply was we don't have bugs. I asked him to come back to the room with me to show him the cockroach which I trapped under a wash cloth just in case they told me I was wrong. I showed him the bug, he said not a bug! Cockroaches are not bugs just a roach. He refused to give me my money back. NEVER STAY HERE!

There's a full bar next door to wet your whistle. We both ordered fish, blackened snapper and salmon. As you can see by the cleaned plates we enjoyed our meals. Service was excellent.

I was passing through the small town of Fallon, Nevada along driving The Loneliest Road in America…read more I had read that this.....the Overland Hotel was a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in exploring Fallon. After getting my Loneliest Road Survival Guide stamped at the Fallon Convention Center, I thought....why not stop by the Overland Hotel and check it out! It's situated right on the corner of historic Maine Street. It can't be missed. On the roof of the place....it simply says...."Hotel"....lol, that's how "old school" this hotel appeared to be. Also, the entire exterior was painted brick red with a little white awning hanging from the 2nd floor. My initial thought was that this hotel was gonna be a real vintage throwback. And that's exactly how I'd describe the Overland Hotel. In all, it's a combined hotel, restaurant, bar, lounge and saloon all mixed into one iconic landmark. Entering inside....the whole vibe and feel certainly oozed of your typical "dive bar". A no frills, classic bar and saloon dedicated to the blue collar folks out there. I would also slightly describe the ambiance like an old western saloon.....yet I had seen a lot better cowboy saloons along my Loneliest Road journey....especially in playful Virginia City, Nevada. Regardless, I did sit down and grab a drink at the bar. Overall, it was nice, an okay/decent moment to stretch out my legs, relax and unwind after many hours on the road. I would assume the hotel is a vintage type of place to stay as well, blending into the whole "old fashioned" theme. For me, I was content to have had a chance to discover this Overland Hotel as a fine roadside stop in Fallon. For anyone else interested in checking out some other attractions in Fallon, I'd recommend passing by the Naval Air Station (supposedly home of the Top Gun Training facility). Also a few miles just east of town along The Loneliest Road was Sand Mountain Recreation Area.....a unique and desolate spot with land-piles of sand and hills to wander, roam around and explore upon.....similar to but not nearly as majestic as Great Sand Dunes National Park near Alamosa, Colorado.

Especially when you…read morefactor in the cleanliness of the room, the part of town you're staying at, the amenities that are offered, value, and overall condition. This takes me to the city of Fallon, the largest city in Churchill County which is roughly an hour east of Reno, Nevada. I came here on Labor Day weekend (Sept. 5/6, 2020) to visit family in the Reno/Sparks area. Much to my shock, I could not find one single hotel available anywhere in Reno! I get it that it is a holiday weekend but everything was absolutely booked. My speculation is that many people were going through "pandemic fatigue" (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) where everyone wanted to get out of the houses and venture out of town. Fortunately I was able to book my reservation on the evening of Sat 9/5/2020. Since I am a valued member of Choice Hotels, I was able to go on their app and book a one-night stay at "Comfort Inn". The price was a very decent $110. I was very relieved because if this place was not available, I would have to go further out to Lovelock or even Winnemucca. I arrived roughly at around 9:15pm and my initial check-in was a breeze. Parking was tricky to find since I arrived so late but I found a spot not too far from the hotel grounds. Once I was given my key-card, I was pleasantly surprised with my hotel room. There was an abundance of fresh linens, clean towels, a mini-refrigerator, a small coffee maker, hairdryer, safe, and a 32" HDTV. The Wi-Fi was also relatively quick and was efficient during my stay. Most importantly, the king size bed was comfortable while I was able to sleep peacefully during my stay. The exterior though is just average as the hallways looked like something out of the mid-1980's. This is also the case with the indoor pool/jacuzzi area (which were closed due to the pandemic) and the overall appearance. Keep in mind that this hotel is single-level which can be a deal-breaker for people that are handicapped. Overall, the "Comfort Inn" in Fallon, NV was an enjoyable stay especially when this is a very quiet city with few attractions. The women at the counter were helpful while my stay served its purpose. My rating, an above average four-stars.
