Every single employee I have worked with in this store has been head and shoulders above staff at other locations -- whether it's helping me save money, pointing me in the right direction on materials, or just checking in letting me know about ongoing promotions or deals -- the staff at this location (to name a few, Darron, Jill, Jennifer, and Karrie) are always looking out for the customers, which is why this is my go to store and the first people I call when I need assistance. On a separate note, Jennifer in Kitchen Design helped with me an update on my personal kitchen and we could not be any happier with the results and the care she gave to our designs to ensure we were getting everything done the way we wanted it to be. The entire job included the designing, planting of arperzvites, pine tree, bushes, ground cover, and plants, as well as installing the outcropping and paver stones. Their hard work and good ideas resulted in beautiful back yard setting. The Fields team was very efficient and adjusted well to whatever ideas and modifications my wife and I suggested. Long story short, their was a delay in completing the job. Wrong color of fence arrived, deck finished late in the summer and I decided to wait until spring of 2020. As soon as we were allowed out of quarantine I called Tholens in Kankakee to get a completed estimate and arrange for work to begin. I stopped by to speak with Steve, a gentleman went to get him and 30 minutes later, I am still waiting and no Steve. Even the girl at the counter seemed clueless but didn't offer to remind him I was waiting. I called for an appointment and was told I didn't need one, he was there 6 days a week. So I dropped by as suggested and spoke to his wife, went through the plans and discussed color. Steve was to return my call with the estimate. Didn't hear from him and called the following Monday. Still no estimate (even though the design was complete dimensions and all). I have done similar estimates, just sit down for 30 minutes with a pencil and calculator. I was told they were very busy, I asked should I call the following Monday(week later) and was told yes. I called 3 more times and was pretty much ghosted. I feel like they were trying to humiliate me, because that's how I feel. I don't need to be told yes, I just want the truth. A good business design: don't tell people you are too busy it's insulting. call back so they can move on, let the customers know you can't do the work this season or ever for that matter and you won't get a bad review on yelp. ps....this was a significant job

I recently purchased an ottoman from there. I was told by the sales man and their manager on Saturday, the day of the purchase, that I could pick it up on Friday but when I called on Friday, they said it was at the store but I wouldn't be able to get it until I get the email that evening. I never received the email on Friday or Saturday or Sunday or Monday then I received the email on Tuesday that I have to schedule it for the following Friday. I have been waiting 3 weeks for a small most likely crappy ottoman. I had previously purchased a dinning set and work bar that splintered and had paint chipping after 3 months. They have horrible and deceptive sales people who are lazy and incompetent and their customer service tries to help but can't because of the store sales and management.
