While the tour information indicated there would be walking and some stair climbing, it didn't mention we would be walking up a steep hill covered with ballast from the riverfront back to the meeting point. After the tour, we realized that some personal belongings were lost and the staff at the store could not have been more helpful trying to track down our missing item.

A trip to Savannah can't be completed without a visit to Bonaventure cemetery, one of the most…read morehaunted areas in Savanah, about 10-15 minute drive from historical district. This cemetery is also famous from the book and movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The cemetery provides a tour, $30 per person. You can also do your own tour. We did not take the tour due to crunching in time. We downloade a map from the Bonaventure historical society and drove through the cemetery. We stopped at the interested area and walked around to visit famous tombs. There are many symbols and beautiful statues carved by a famous sculptor, John Walz. The most famous grave is Gracie, in section D, who belonged to little Gracie, who died in 1889 at age 6 from pneumonia. Other tombs like Hershbach angel in as well as Taliaffero in section D. Section H and F also have amny beautiful statues.

It was obvious that he has done a lot of research. At the cemetery he was able to answer all of our questions and gave us a lot of information about the various grave sites. We would definitely recommend this tour for true stories about Savannah's past.

We were able to ask more questions. We started at Johnson square and ended at Forsyth park. We walked the downtown area and learned a great deal of history about Savanna. Our guide was very knowledgeable and appeared to be passionate about history. i loved that he spoke about the good, bad and ugly of the historical moments. Everyone else cancelled but we persevered. As did Tour Daufuskie and our amazing guide. We learned a lot of history, purchased a beautiful indigo scarf, and even found the only geocache left on the island. We also enjoyed the boat ride and were rewarded with dolphins, how cool is that.
