I'm not sure if these tours are always this incredible but my Guy Joe did a great job on the morning of April 26th!!!! That guy seriously killed it. You could hear the passion and love for the city as we walked around. He is very animated and appropriately alters the inflection in his voice to both emphasize key points but also maintain the audiences engagement. You can tell that he is going to be a great guide from the minute he starts his introduction. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city, and as a local was able to toss in some fun facts from his own family's stories. He even offered some tips for great restaurants to stop at for food. Plus, he called us to make sure we were still coming, because we were that group that walked up exactly on the hour. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Savannah, and if you can book Joe!

We enjoyed our "free" walking tour that stopped at and passed through 5 or 6 of Savannah's many squares, plus the cemetery and some historic homes. For our personal needs, we wished that we had come to Savannah when it was warmer (there was a crazy chilly cold snap going on when we were there this time), and when the trees and shrubs were flowering. I think our experience would have been enhanced if that had been the case. We found that Daniel really personalized his stories and descriptions, maybe even a bit too much. He was also very enthusiastic and tried often to engage everyone in his words and his love for Savannah.

Tour guide Daniel outside of the Colonial Cemetery.

Daniel was our tour guide on a chilly Sunday morning in February, besides the discomfort from the cold, the tour experience was perfect. The 90 minute tour started in Johnson Square, just one of the 22 currently 'operating' squares in downtown Savannah. From there we walked to Write Square, then over to the Owen-Thomas House on Oglethorpe Square (although we didn't tour the house, we talked about it's significance). We then walked to Colonial Cemetery and over to see the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (you MUST go look inside, they don't give you a chance on the tour, but just break off for a moment and take a look if you don't plan on going back) and Lafayette Square. Next onto the Green-Meldrim House on Madison Square and back to Chippewa Square to finish (where Forest Grump's bench scenes were filmed). This tour is all walk and no play, you'll be on tour the entire time, no chance to stop for a coffee halfway through (or more likely an alcoholic beverage), so make sure you've got something in hand pre-start. The tour is broken down into the history of Savannah (and layout), historical persons, architecture and influence. I learned the perfect amount on the tour and definitely felt like it was a great way to see the city and squares you'll know Savannah is famous for. At the end of the tour, I didn't feel pressured into tipping Daniel, he simply puts a bucket out and says he'd love to recommend further places for you or help you on your journey. You SHOULD tip him, because is fantastic, but he's very tactful in his approach. Highly recommend this tour, it's kid friendly and moderately healthy elderly person friendly as well. Strollers would be fine on this tour as well.

Definitely worth FREE! Chris is a history buff and after traveling around the world for a few years he settled back in Savannah and started this tour company. It is heavily history based and discusses the important figures that are buried around Savannah or influenced Savannah in some way. The tour started at Johnson Square and ended at Forsythe Park. Took 90 min and it is recommended that you tip at the end ($10-$20/person).

Had an amazing time learning about Savannah history, culture, and architecture on our tour. Chris was awesome and did a great job of making everyone feel welcomed. We saw a lot of interesting places and it was great to hear about some of the history of this beautiful city. Couldn't of asked for a more pleasant experience!

We loved this tour! Joe was knowledgeable about Savannah's history and he had a great personality. Most of our tour revolves around the central squares and monuments and Joe shared a history of the city and its involvement in wars, and made some great jokes along the way! We had a lovely and relaxing time and highly recommend. Don't forget to tip at the end!!

A Must Do! This Remarkable Tour is told by Savannah's 2025 "Remarkable Woman of the Year" Patt Gunn…read more(Sistah Patt), CEO of the Underground Tours of Savannah! At the last minute, we scheduled Sistah Patt's Tour, and honestly this is by far the BEST ONE, and we did several here and in Charleston, while visiting from California. Sistah Patt is incredible and inspirational, fact-telling, and is currently in projects in Savannah, bringing proper recognition and truth-telling. I wish I had done a little research on her, as I did after leaving her tour...oh my, I probably would have asked so many more questions, I had no idea of the advocate she is. Let me leave you with this: Who in Savannah can change a Squares name, from Confederate Vice President (Calhoun), to Taylor Square, to honor Susie King Taylor, born into slavery, who became the 1st Black nurse to serve in the Civil War and later open a school for African Americans in Savannah? YES, Patt Gunn Can, and it happened only 2 years ago! This is the Tour you will want to do. This is the "Remarkable Woman" you will want to share/ask/listen to.

You cannot begin to understand the history of Savannah, Georgia, the South or our country without this foundational understanding. This experience will stick with me for years to come.

What a blast! Danny Moron and Danni Moron, the Moron Twins were a great duo to entertain the group…read more It's nonstop laughter from start to finish as the duo cracked jokes that interlaced with each other in a smooth delivery. They incorporated material from guests on the bus and peppered laughs throughout the tour. It was irreverent, a little raunchy in just the right way to make you blush. One of the highlights include Danny existing the bus and taking the show to the street with innocent bystanders becoming part of the show, all while narrated inside by Danni. We covered several blocks with Danny running through the streets and squares while we laughed in the air conditioned trolly. A great show, must do when visiting Savannah... and you'll learn a little history too... but much, but just enough.

Our guides, Danny and Dannii, were bursting with high energy and delivered non-stop humor throughout the entire experience. They skillfully wove in fascinating historical facts about Savannah while keeping us laughing the whole way around the city. A quick heads-up: the humor does get a little risqué at times, so it's definitely not for the faint of heart! The highlight (or should I say lowlight for my husband's dignity) was when he received an unforgettable "lap dance"--or more accurately, a face dance. I've never seen his face turn quite that shade of red or heard him laugh so hard. It was priceless. If you're looking for a fun, lighthearted break from the everyday routine with a good dose of levity, we highly recommend this tour. It's a hilarious way to see and learn about Savannah!

With that being said, upon researching the area, Dan's tour came up as almost unanimously the best thing to do in Savannah. To say we learnt a lot and had a great time would be an understatement, Dan gave us a broad overview of many elements of Savannah's rich and diverse history. We were visiting from Florida, so we knew it would be hot, but as it was a very shaded route with plenty of stops it was not an issue. As Dan advices on the website, pack water, and sunscreen. The walk itself is very dog friendly and at a leisurely pace suited to all levels of fitness. Finding dog friendly activities is always high on our list, and plus the wealth of knowledge and passion Dan has it was a no brainer! Due to the heat, some other guests had to reschedule their time, so we were lucky enough to have a private tour, which probably would be worth an additional star on its own! Dan as a host was witty, engaging and brought Savannah to life. We have already recommended Savannah Dan to multiple people and will continue to moving forward.
