We had the best tour, it was actually lead by an university history professor. This is not a "ghost tour" where you are told made up stories. What you will hear is actually true historical tales. We learned that Savannah actually was built upon the dead. When they moved a cemetery, they just moved the tombstones. The bodies stayed in place. Told of stories where either new construction or renovations unearthed many bones. The tour was great, don't waste your money like we did the night before on a "ghost tour". read more

Went on the dark history tour during our first night in Savannah. I learned a lot about the creation of Savannah. There are plenty of night tours in Savannah, though this stays away from the typical ghost tour narratives provided by other tour guides. It's a 2 hour walking tour, so expect a ton of history learned. In the summer, 2 hours may be a bit too much depending on the humidity (was quite hot as we walked the mile or so), so do plan ahead and wear the right shoes. read more

We took both the Civil War Tour and the Savannah Dark History Tour. The group was smaller at the 3 pm tour than the 7:30 pm. Both were amazing, the guides know their information. Mr. Rodney even had an ipad and showed us relevant pictures of the sites/important figures which made it easier to understand the context. They were both happy to answer any questions, even food and places recommendations. They don't have a microphone/speaker set up but there's a why, it's an interactive tour, you can make comments, ask questions, and it feels more like a stroll with a VERY knowledgeable friend.
