I've been wanting to try this place because it's so close to me. We went in with zero experience whatsoever. We didn't know we were suppose to bring anything including balls and tees. Neither of us had ever played a round of golf. There was someone giving a lesson to anther player who came to check us in, realized how clueless we were and gave us some tips and everything we needed. We played as much as we could , no one rushed us and we got to enjoy the sunset Interestingly there were people riding mopeds around and some people fishing, I think probably because it was getting dark and close to closing but I was definitely afraid I would hit one of them while they were buzzing around. This is no fancy country club - but want a quality round on a good layout at a fair price - give Bonaventure a try. Staff were friendly and helpful. Water and bunkers provide ample challenges. Greens were in good condition. Carts were clean - but lacked GPS. 18th is pretty much a double-water carry. And of course the famous #3 waterfall hole is just fun to shoot at. read more

My review is for the clubhouse only. With such a regal name so far out and near the Everglades boundary, I expected a far posher experience with better integration of the environment for my visit. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by an off-putting vehicular parking lot, quickly establishing an auto-oriented, suburban hegemonic design that pollutes the environment and worsens our health. After walking into the building, the workers clearly keep the facility clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms were hard to find as well. The clubhouse space for the festival I attended was too small for the number of people in attendance, and it was awkward to walk around the limited space to get drinks, sit at tables, and get food, which were all at different corners of the room. I played here Wednesday afternoon at 3:45. I played nine in one hour. The parking lot was full at 2:00 so I knew a lot of family / twice a year golfers were out playing today so I waited a while before going out. The three rebuilt greens that were such a challenge last spring have all grown-in and are perfect condition (1, 5, 17). The waterfall hole is great and challenging (my shot was short). read more

Had a 9AM tee time on a lonely Monday meaning no one there. The night before we had a lot of rain so they said car paths only. Now I ask if the course is empty why not hold back the golfers an hour so the course drains a little?? Speaking of draining the front was a swamp! The greens were terribly slow because again they were soaked. On one hole I was looking for my ball and a groundskeeper was spraying ROUNDUP right around me. When I got off the course my shoes had a blue substance which what the guy was spraying. I WILL NEVER PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN! read more

Bonaventure country club and golf has a really nice golf course that is for the most part in very good shape. Greens are fast and very challenging holes. The pro shop was nicely stocked with all the latest in golf apparel. The restaurant/ bar was really good. Awesome food and service. We order a few things of their lunch menu and everything was delicious. Chicken wings, steak sandwich, French dip sandwich, fish and chips, etc..... all very good. (Onion rings are a Must Have). Definitely a good place to come for a round of golf and some food @ the 19th hole. read more

Don't be fooled by the pictures of this place, I am an avid golfer & can definitely say This is hands down the worst golf course I've ever been to. I went here with my family, we ended up leaving after 3 holes. The greens were mostly sand and or large patches of uneven sod, completely unplayable. On top of that, good luck finding your ball anywhere. The grass was unkept, hadn't been mowed in weeks, if you can call it grass, it was mostly weeds. Complete waste of money, unable to get a refund/partial refund for this overpriced round. Just go someplace else. read more

Can someone say, "Greenskeeper needed!" This course is in big need of some TLC. I have it two stars because the staff were friendly and the actual layout of the course has potential. But the tee boxes, sand traps and most of all the greens were a complete disaster. The foursome ahead of us were teenagers more interested in drinking beer and smoking weed than playing golf. The pace of play was slow and there were no marshals on the course. I would recommend playing your golf elsewhere. read more

Don't let other reviews for you. This place is a complete swamp land and the worse course in South Florida. They can try to lie and safe face and say they're working on the course but unless they close this place down for six months and put several hundred thousand into it then it will never be more than a cow pasture or future residential development. The fairways are in awful condition. There's more weeds than grass in the fairways, the greens that arent blocked off are in a abysmal condition either being weeds, Sandy, bumpy or desease grass. What's worse is the GM is the least professional and honest person that I've met in my life. I've had my property stolen at this golf course and he doesn't even have the decency to call the customers back and gets a nasty attitude when you try to find out how and why your property was stolen he's nowhere to be found. read more

Worst course conditions I've seen in a while. Greens are usually half sand, forcing you to try & land your ball on certain parts of the green for a shot at a having a putt on actual gas. We paid $55 each for Sunday morning. About $45 more than we should've been charged. Not one person had anything good to say about the course conditions. Avoid this course at all costs. read more

I write this review because I've played here often, and I hope someone who can make decisions reads it. There are 2 things that need attention: 1) customer engagement needs improvement. The staff seems to be always in a bad mood and the whole place has an attitude that is frankly off putting. 2) I understand we are going through difficult times, but can anyone explain to me why the driving range closes at 4pm? I mean, sometimes you just one to go hit a bucket after work, but now you can't. Las tee time is at 4:15, so it's not like there isn't anyone around... We use this facility for our company events - the event rooms are great and well staffed - We had an event last night -appetizers and open bar - even though the appitizers ( sorry with the spelling phone is not letting me spell it correctly ) were well selected and liked ... they were being passed around with just napkins - it would be great to have toothpicks so the person doesn't have to gather the food with a napkin . Adding appetizer plates on the tables would be beneficial as well . These are minor complications that could be solved - parking is ample and the venue is close to 595 . I highly recommend this venue for company events and memorable occasions ! read more

Overall, just an OK experience. The course is a fun layout with lots of length and water. It offers some holes that you can score on but offers plenty that will bite you. The signature hole is the par 3 third hole which played 145 yards from the white tees and the tips on the day I played. The tee boxes are in pretty good shape, most of the fairways are also in decent shape. The rough could be better and the greens...while they do not look bad, they are slow and do not roll true. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they appeared to have a nice pro shop. The range is OK, you hit off mats but they do have a decent putting/chipping area. Overall, I would return if some improvements were made. I paid $40 for a resident rate early on a sunday morning which is more than I would pay in the future for the current conditions. read more

Avoid: Totally Run Down and Not Maintained!!! You will be utterly disappointed ! What use to be a championship golf course has continued to erode year over year with no TLC being invested into the course. It used to be a 36 hole golf course until the West was sold when the course went bankrupt. Now there are ugly homes built on them. The owners currently running this golf course has not done anything to improve its condition. It literally continues to erode over time making it really a 1 star place to golf. It's funny the fee' they charge because its not worth the value! If you get the hot now price on group on for $24 fine. But do not pay $40, $50 or higher. You will be extremely disappointed. This golf course is totally run down. The only other horrible course close bye is Cooper Colony and that's what Bonaventure has become. The fairways and rough hardly have a difference in cut, the sandtraps are never managed or raked, the greens just suck! Can't put because the ball bounces over the un-smooth surface. When it rains, it is flooded. Irrigation is horrible. I would not play unless its been dry for at least 3 days. I live in Weston and play this course every so often because I have a son who is learning golf. It's the perfect place for him to hack a way as it will not impact the condition of this already crappy golf course. When I play golf with friends, I go to Weston Hills Country Club, Jacaranda, Plantation Preserve, or I travel to Miami for Key Biscayne or Miami Beach Country Club, or in Palm Beach I like Lake Worth Country Club or PGA Country Club. read more

This course was atrocious absolutely horrible would never ever recommend or go there again. One hole they had the sprinklers on while we were playing not to mention getting soaked and the cart also getting soaked by the sprinklers, 2 holes the greens weren't were they should of been and instead the "green" was just dirt. A bunker by the green on one hole had a palm tree laying in it guess they don't think they should pick that up. Piles of trees all over the course. I played this course yesterday. My issues are mostly with the staff. I called to book a tee time a week in advance. On the phone I asked the lady how much it would be, she stated that it would be $25. I believed her because, well, she works for the course. Fast forward to when I arrived, the man at the counter in the pro shop laughed off that I was told $25. Didn't honor the word of his employee. So I paid my $60 for a round and a small bucket. When I got my range balls there were 4 or 5 mangled and misshapen balls. They are water balls so they're not as durable but the quality of these balls made them almost unhittable. The starter was excellent (truly nice gentleman that got us on a tad early) as was the cart girl, Dolce I believe her name was. She was lovely and made sure we had ample ice to go with our beer. The course was beautiful, greens were maintained for the most part. My only complaint was the sand in the bunkers, it was hardpacked and desperately in need of a tilling/fresh sand. Overall, I would recommend for the challenge just don't trust them to honor what they tell you on the phone. read more

I'm trying my best to root for this course - I really am. But their driving range hasn't been open four out of the five times I've inquired about it, and the green fees are so steep and unwarranted given the tired nature of this operation. I see a few teenagers running things, and they seem to be doing the best they can, but Bonaventure Golf Club comes across to a newcomer as worn out, understaffed, tired, and generally disappointing. I hope their operations improve after this pandemic subsides. It might be in the business's best interest to just shut down in the meantime and focus on bettering the future overall experience here. read more

Very well maintained course with plenty of water and sand. Take plenty of balls if you don't hit straight! Course hooked is up as walk ons with club rentals and great rates. Definitely make this a place to play to have fun and get pissed for hitting it in the pond! read more

Somebody from this club broke my cars window, we have security camera video when it happened, we have witness, almos hit my mother in law (78 years old) talked to security supervisor Paul Fergurson from the golf club showed the video, the window broken, even the ball that hit the car and in a RUDE way told me: THIS IS THE RISK OF LIVING NEAR A GOLF CLUB AND THAT IS NOT OUR PROBLEM. I guess that if that ball hits SOMEBODY it will be a very good case for a lawyer. Its a question of Moral that my inlaws have to pay the window and a golf club that makes good money they dont have the moral responsability of paying for it. Place has to be one of the worst courses I've played in South Florida. The greens and tee boxes are 90% sand. $50 for an afternoon tee time and it seems like they haven't turned the sprinklers on in 6 months. 7 snowbirds down in FL for Super Bowl weekend and this was our third and last round before the big game.... Let me first start off by thanking the pro shop for giving us the veterans discount ($36 with cart), very nice of them... and that's where it all went down hill. Course is in horrible shape... Fairways, greens and bunkers, which apparently no one in Florida rakes. Found myself in several foot prints, yeah I know, shouldn't be in them Packed way too many groups on top of one another which caused us to wait on every single shot and by the 6th hole (par 3) there were 5 groups on the tee box. With this backup, our group (7) decided to all hit up to the green to quicken play but ole ranger Rick (not sure that his name) would have none of that and made sure to poo poo our decision. Now that we were on his shit list, he proceeded to follow us for the next 2 or 3 holes, hiding behind trees and bushes. We lost him for a hole or two but his partner in crime (ranger Rob) quickly picked u where he left off and once again we're reprimanded for stacking up at the next par 3. The new guy rode right up to us and said "what's going on here, I count 7 players?" To which we replied... where would you like us to go? We purposely stayed well back of the foursome on the tee out of respect! He mumbled something else to which I replied "you guys have been riding our ass all day" and he said I only came on 10 minutes ago but my coworker TOLD ME ABOUT YOU GUYS... really??? WTF!!! The East in under going construction so you have to play the West, and boy is the West terrible! The crew there was an old man who had seen better days. Initially the tee boxes were sand pits. You know its bad when you have to dig your feet into the dirt to obtain reliable control on the tee. The fairways were dry. Typical Florida winters. Bad condition as well, lift clean and place all day. Bunkers were rock pits, especially on par 3's were they most often come into play. The greens....... Oh good baby apple bottoms those greens were HORRIBLE. Over grown, sanded, dry, patched around, G.U.R., the works. We didn't even putt, we just chipped two balls and picked up. only plus, very cute cart lady, a nice Spanish cougar actually. otherwise DO NOT PLAY HERE! NOT WORTH YOUR TIME! read more

Locals use the course as their personal walking track walking right in front of u teeing off. Don't waste ur money, won't play it again if it's free.
