There are no shaded areas so plan to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon. However, if you end up here right in the middle of the day, don't worry! Your kids will be excited to cool down at the adjacent water park- also free! In between the city and water park there is a nice mostly shaded playground. This was such a fun place to visit! There is a big mall within a 10 min drive so you can make this a day trip!

Some evenings they have AA meetings and the parking lot gets full. I try to go here in the morning. Often I see goats along B the fence line from the neighboring property. The best is when there are horses in the park and I can tell that my dogs are thinking, what is that? It's a simple park but a nice place to walk and it's quiet. There are restrooms but not much other amenities.

This park is located next to Gator Run Elementary School. I came over to seven acre Gator Run Park to walk off some anxiety after dropping off my dog at the vet for surgery. Park amenities include a bike fixit repair station, lighted walkways, restroom, sand volleyball court, shaded playground, and three picnic shelters. Rest assured that there are no gators to run from here. The alligator in the parks name refers to the fact the Weston is Broward County's most western town, situated right next to the Everglades. This is a great park to come for exercise, take your dog for a walk, take the kids to play, in, or have a picnic. I really love Weston and the immaculate parks are one of the reasons.

Although it's very famous for its off road courses, biking the paved roads of the park is great as well. I've also used the range here, solid. But over the past couple years, we have come out here for the disc golf. It's a great course. Tough holes that feel very makable but still can humble most that play it. There are many other things to include a RC boats and RC planes areas, but whatever you mind come out West by, you are bound to enjoy Markham.

There is a shaded paved exercise trail that goes throughout the park and we took a little stroll. Sunny really started perking up as we walked through the park. Besides the exercise path there are benches, a shaded playground, and a covered picnic pavilion. In the center of the park is an open play area and several large ficus trees. At the edge of the park we discovered a community kindness rock garden which encourages you to take a rock and leave one. I love how well maintained and beautifully landscaped the parks are in Weston. I also love that they are dog friendly. Dogs on leashes are always welcome as long as you clean up after yourself with the poo bags they kindly provide. This is just one of the many beautiful parks in Weston that add charm to the city.

Whether you're looking to kick or toss a ball on the field, get some steps in on a trail, do some fishing, or let your kids run around on a sizable playground you can do it here. Most notably, it's free for everyone to visit! The main star of the show here are the 4 turf fields that offer hundreds of yards of space to play sports on. It's not hard to miss just how nicely done it is also. Being mainly for soccer, there's nets of all sizes to utilize. I'd think a complex like this would be only available to teams but it's awesome to see it's treated like the other sports complexes in the area. If running around on a field isn't your thing there's also a paved trail that gives you a nice view of the lake & wetlands area. While it isn't a big trail, I always appreciate things that promote exercising & being around nature. Want to hang outside without burning in the sun? There's also pavilions that offer plenty of shade with tables to sit at underneath. There's multiple water fountains, a concessions stand & vending machine at the center. Parking isn't an issue as there's a massive lot out front, they've done it all right here. I'm glad this complex is right down the road because I've made it a regular spot of mine. I have nothing but good things to say & suggest you stopping by if you're in the area.
