I decided to try out this bead shop a couple of weeks ago. I walked in not sure if it was open or closed. All the lights were off, which kinda made me go 'mehhhh', but I figured it was better than wasting energy. I was hoping to buy some half drilled real pearls, not the common full drilled pearls used for beading. Like most places, the salesperson was "interested" in what I was using them for (sometime's I feel like they are just being nosey, but ohh well). I explained to her that I needed these half drilled pearls for rings I am making. She respond "How are you doing that?" in a slight ' I think you're using the wrong items/can't do that with these tone' . So I then explained that I was doing it like any other pearl ring with a post (duh!). She then got kinda 'snotty' with me and basically told me that I don't know what I am doing. I then told her that I know what I am doing, I am a jewelry and Metal smithing major at BGSU. My professor had recently showed us how to set pearls. *It really comes down to the fact that I am not beading with them, I am using them as a 'gem stone' * But anyways... So I left contact information and what exactly I wanted so they could special order them for me. The lady told me she would have her sister (I am guessing who is the owner) call me about prices. Which I was then told that it was going to be really expensive for real pearls (in a snotty tone) and asked if I was sure I wanted them. I told her that I know what pearls cost and it doesn't matter, it is what I want. I left and have never heard back. I buy all of my materials online and really needed some more pearls ASAP. I would buy them from a LOCAL business instead of buying them from an online store, and if the business didn't carry them I wanted to order them through them to do the whole "SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES" thing. If you really needed the 1/2 drilled pearls ASAP and the bead store was going to have to order them, and you generally order them online, then it seems to me it would have been just as fast for you to order them?
