It's barely been a week since i got them done & they started cracking within 3 days i think after i left the salon. The young lady had told me they last longer than gel (i forgot the name to this product) but it's suppose to be stronger and last longer than gel. well that's not the case at all i'm barely starting to grow my nails back after having my son since they got super weak, and i'm trying to get them to grow naturally and long but i can't do that if my nail polish that's meant to help them stay strong and grow doesn't stay on. I really liked them because their set up is very beautiful but i paid nearly $90 for a service that i'm not getting my money out of. Second is my toes. My big toe got messed up the first day. She told me my toes were dry already since it's been "30 mins already since i painted them" no ma'am they were still WET and i changed my shoes out thinking they were dry as you told me with confidence. I had given her a $10 tip as well because i thought she did an amazing job at first. that comes out to over $100 but after i'm starting to realize that even if the place looks really nice, they won't do that good of a job either way... i was gonna try them again and let them know of the situation next time so they can do better but the way they be flashing back at the negative comments on here makes me a little mad they don't answer back to any of the good comments but they can and will answer back to all the bad ones ‍ Anyways, i won't be going back to them anymore and trying out different places & no where on the sign does it say they charge $15 for gel removal let me just add that too!! only giving 2 starts instead of 1 because they salon is actually really nice read more

Update: I thought I'd give them another try walked in asking for ONLY a gel color change, and the tech proceeded to do a "Partial" mani, I'm sorry cleaning I mean cutting my cuticle does not suffice for a manicure... Johnny (MANAGER/OWNER) did my nails.... still proceeded to tell me again and again that he needed to put 4 coats of color.... while cleaning up my nails cut my cuticle pretty bad, did not seem to now how to fix or stop the bleeding just kept wiping with a brush with water. Afterwards did not look to take any precautions of taking care of the items that were used to clean up the blood. People say 3rd time a charm well not for this place I am sorry I would rather drive up the road to Nail Tek or Premier Nails both located up on Baseline & Ellsworth. read more

I went into the Superstition Nails Spa today with two of my friends and we immediately got seated after picking out the colors we wanted. I believe the guy who did my nails was Nahn Nguyen. He was very polite and helpful in choosing how i wanted my nails done! They turned out so beautiful. Also, paying in cash gets you $2 off. If you sign up with the rewards you get 10% your next visit. The inside is very beautiful and all the people are super kind! Finally I have to add in how a rude costumer came in, being insulting and interrupting everyone's appointments by complaining about her nails she wanted taken off but didn't want to do it the way it had to be done. Nahn handled the situation in a calm, polite manner and told the costumer she could leave if she wanted. She snatched the foils off her nails and left abruptly. Nothing else was said about her situation and everyone went on without any problems. This was my first time at Superstition Nails Spa, and definitely won't be the last! I don't post reviews too often, and rarely do i post negative ones. However this is the first time in my life that i got up and walked out during a mani/pedi before she started to paint my toe nails. Without turning this into a long, drawn out slam session, I will simply state the facts in regards to my experience. -Today was my first visit to Superstition Nails, and most definitely my last. -This "Johnny" that everyone raves about was very standoff from the moment I walked in. -I sat in the chair, after picking my color for gel nails and a pedi, and i put my feet in what felt like scalding hot water. She addressed this and down the bowl. Now here comes the sequence events which I could ramble explicit details but instead: -I had to ask/tell her FOUR times to clip them short. -She did not spend close to 5 minutes trimming and cleaning my nails, before she was about to apply the first coat of polish. -At this point, for the first time ever, I was ready to walk out. -I expressed my concerns to her (toe nails still not short enough, literally zero cuticle trimming, and i did not even see the tool that cleans around the nails), and her response was: "i already cleaned." -I asked for Johnny, thinking he would offer to complete the pedicure (but apparently it's insulting to assume he would actually do a pedicure) or at the very least apologize and have someone else complete the job. Instead he just stood there and proceeded to speak to her in their language (which i have ZERO problem with, as I speak another language as well) without any explanation or even a glance in my direction. -I told them I would pay for their time, which in hindsight was pretty crazy of me, but I thought it only fair. He LITERALLY rolled his eyes at me over and over again when I asked him to break a 20 so I can at least pay them $10 for their time. -He told me to just leave and not worry about paying (which I still did leave them $10). Dang, this review is longer than i had hoped but man this was the worse and most surreal pedicure experience I have ever had. Call me crazy for expecting them to trim my cuticles and cut my nails even and short. You could not pay me to go anywhere near that place again. read more

I have been going to this salon for 4 months and they have become my favorite nail salon. They are extremely friendly, professional and I have yet to have a bad experience. I get my manicures, pedicures done here and I get my eyebrows waxed! All the employees are so friends and welcoming! My last visit, which was Monday, Jan, 28th, I brought a picture of what I wanted and they were able to match the color perfectly and add a little heart on my nails. Disappointing I'm THAT guy who does a mani-pedi 2-3 times a year through the use of a gift certificate (Father's day, Birthday, etc. gift). My wife recently found this location, and after a few visits concluded it was a "good" spot to get her nails done at. Anyway, walked in and was greeted immediately. Stated I wanted a mani-pedi and was directed to a chair. That's were the "good" ended. My nail expert ended up being a newbie. Instead of using the un-opened items that are allocated for every chair, she put it to the side, reached in her cart and used what she had there. Listen, I'm not nail expert, but her filing, etc. skills were lacking. She had no interest in doing the pedi and it was a job badly carried out. Furthermore, and though the three (3) other customers were offered water, I was not! Nope, and I didn't say a word. Just made a note of it. Once pedi was done, she forgot I also needed a mani. And long story short on that, I do a better job on my finger nails than she did. True story. Nope, would not recommend this nail spa (I use the word loosely). read more

I got there and the gentleman said it would be 15 to 20 mins no problem but then 2 ladies came in after me and they got started on there pedicure first that was a problem. So I waited, then 2 more ladies came in and said they had an appointment so I was like great it will be even longer mine pedicure but, they sat us three at the same time. The gal gave us all waters and then she started on my pedicure. I didn't get any help with the chair or find the remote for the massager in till I asked and then she handed it to me and ask me how my day was. I've been to this salon twice and after the second time you couldn't pay me to walk back into this salon. The man who did my nails who I also think is the owner is so disrespectful and rude. I was the 1st customer of the day and from the start all he was doing was complaining about at least 3 different things. He was even complaining about CUSTOMERS calling the store trying to schedule appointments to me, a CUSTOMER. I asked for white nails which I was given. The guy suggests I get glitter over them and they'll look better, I say sure why not. The glitter is super thin and minuscule and I did like it, BUT there was one huge chunk of glitter in one of my nails that clearly looked ridiculous compared to all the tiny tiny pieces accompanying it. I asked the guy if we could fix the one nail with the chunk of glitter and he clearly was annoyed by that. He "fixes" it by trying to buff it once and it's still there. I told him the piece is still there and he tells me he sees it but it's just one piece and continues to get an attitude with me. While he's removing the chunk of glitter he's continuing to complain saying it's only one piece. First of all the glitter wasn't even my idea. It's gonna be on my nails for the next 3 weeks and I'm dropping $60 at your salon. Next time fix the problem and lose the attitude. This man had the nerve to ridicule me in front of the whole salon and then is obviously talking crap about me to the other employees in the store in a different language while I'm sitting there. Not to mention one of my nails is crooked and 3 of them are bubbly. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

Every time I visit from Chicago this is my go to first stop on vacation. They are clean,friendly and always do a perfect job.

When I found this place on Yelp, I was hesitant due to the reviews. But went anyways, which is what I won't be doing again. When I first got in I still had hope. It looked nice, clean, and organized. I picked out my colors and got started with a lady, I didn't catch her name. But I told her I want to do SNS (I had acrylics on when I came in) on my real nails. So she took the nail polish off and had me soak them in acetone, which isn't too odd I've done that before but it's not often for the removal of acrylic nails. But was odd to me is that she shaved off the acrylic nail instead of using another plastic nail to take it off, which I figured would be the reasoning of trying to preserve my real nails. But it was a method I found more uncomfortable especially when she would start shaving my real nails (for those who don't know the feeling it feels like your nail is being burned). But I let her continue but she didn't get all the acrylic off so when I told that there was still acrylic on my nail she argued "No that's your real nail." I said "Well if you look at the top of the nail you can see the line between the real nail and acrylic nail." Then she grabbed my hand and started to shave it off again. When she got to the dipping part, she only put the nail polish on the center of my nails missing the sides completely. While she was doing this she was talking to multiple people and people were coming up and distracting her attention away to what she was doing. Which I don't mind but when it starts to affect how my nails are coming out I did start getting annoyed. She started to do the dipping without looking at my nails at all. She was so distracted that when she would dip my finger in and tapped the excess off, she was tapping the wrong fingers. She dipped my fingers a total of 5-6 times, usually I've only had it done 3-4 times. So my fingers started looking very bubbly. But first I told her the sides weren't covered on the upper half of the nails, she said "Oh I still have to file" but you don't file the upper half of the nail only the bottom half. At this point she started getting more aggressive with my hands as she dipped my fingers more, which caused them to get even more bubbly. But I waited until she started doing the shaping to see the process she had going. Whenever she would be done with a hand I checked it, sure enough it was still bubbly and not the coffin shape I was hoping. So I told her. That's when she started saying it's because of the shape of the natural nail, but my natural nails aren't round, I like the way my natural nail shape is. The shape of these nails aren't even close. But eventually I just gave up on telling her what I didn't like about them because she eventually just started throwing my hand and fingers around, talked about how another girls likes how she shapes her nails, and etc. plus I know how to do my own nail shaping so as long as the base looked good I could fix it on my own. But I should have to if I'm paying $45 for them to be done "professionally" plus I still tipped because I'm not heartless. Plus she was sick, but she was wearing a mask but as I continue to complain she took her mask off. Also all of this took 1hour 45 minutes, I don't think I've ever been in a salon that long for just an SNS and those times they came out a LOT better. So no I will not be bring my business here again, and I recommend others not to as well. read more

Made an appointment to have acrylics soaked off and a healthier alternative allowed. I was very specific. I offered to pay for the removal. I was told "no problem." When I arrived, the tech wanted to drill off the acrylics. I explained about the soak off. She was reluctant. Again I offered to pay. She began the process but the old guy next to her was grumbling. Finally they refused to do it. I was sent away with my nails roughed and the polish coming off one hand. They told me that soaking was a waste of time, even though I was prepared to pay for the time. I've been coming here for a few months now and I love it! My nails turn out great every time. Johnny is always my go to nail tech, he does a fantastic job - I'm sure the rest of the techs do just as a great job, but Johnny has been doing my nails ever since I started going there. They're usually really busy on the weekends, so if you plan on coming in, the best time would be during the week. One tip I would strongly suggest is calling in and making an appointment - even if it's same day. They also mentioned to me, that if you book days in advance it's important to call in the day of your appointment to make sure you're booked and if you requested a specific person to do your service making sure they're in for the day. They don't jot down your number so if a tech is unexpectedly out, you won't know until you arrive or call in. read more
