Their dip technique is awful. They use a communal dip powder container with no regard to infection control. My nails were dipped into the container without any hygiene practices first to clean my hands or nails. They over-dipped my nails resulting in a lot of build up under the nail. I made them aware & they made an attempt with a nail file to remove it but it didn't do much to solve the issue. They barely gave any type of manicure treatment. The cost was more expensive than a regular manicure without all of the usual treatments. They also had me twisting my body to do the polish while I was in the pedicure chair & I had to voice my discomfort to adjust how they had me positioned. Additionally, I had mentioned to the tech to not cut much of my cuticle, and she ended up giving me a cut near my cuticle. I made the staff aware when I checked out & asked if they could please give a discount for that. The lady wasn't going to do anything about the issue so I asked for a manager & the manager would only provide a $5 discount, with no apology or concern about that happening. I also brought my young daughter with me to get a polish - they continually tried to upsell, including with services that aren't even appropriate for a little girl. She went to the other side with grandma to get the polish & came back to show me her nails. I immediately recognized that it wasn't what she had excitedly picked out & that she wasn't comfortable. She admitted that she didn't want or like what they had done to her nails. Once again, they had attempted to upsell by adding designs to her nails. They didn't ask her or the adult she was with if it was okay or desired. I asked them to do what she had requested. They attempted to just paint over what they had done but it was still visible & I had to press for it to be completely redone. What was supposed to be a fun experience for her turned into a learning moment of having to speak up for yourself & ensuring you get the service you request. All of which shouldn't have been necessary if they weren't just trying to make an extra buck off a child. When I mistakenly returned 2 weeks later to have the dip polish removed, they aggressively used an e-file to grind off the polish & damaged my nails. I would have never gone back there if I knew this was their way of removing the polish - I had specifically asked for a dip soak off, not for them to also use an e-file. My nails are usually very strong but are so weak now, bending & cracking. I'm just left to wait until they grow back out. I also called ahead of time to get a price for the dip removal & confirmed the price before the service. The tech left me with nail filling dust all over my hands & then put oil on my nails. I asked to go wash my hands & she looked at me like I was nuts for washing off the oil. I guess she thought I was supposed to leave there like that with the dust all over my hands. While I was washing my hands, she crossed off the price on the bill & increased it. I definitely won't be back to this salon again. read more

I was in town from Cali so i was trying to find a nail shop to come and get a fill done. I came in and the lady i got sat with seemed professional until we started talking about what I wanted. I showed her a picture, i just wanted a french tip fill & a cut down. She started and I mentioned to her i didn't want a real pink nude, i had a brown nude before - i kept mentioning to her that i don't like pink. she proceeded to do pink powder, when i corrected her she said she would paint over it with a nude color. Which is frustrating because now moving forward I will have to keep doing that or figure out a way to blend it out so I don't have to paint over it. Then after I gave up explaining, she proceeds to talk about me to the lady's sitting next to her (the nail tech's), i know because she pointed to me and then said something and said in english "i don't care". made me super uncomfortable. then on top of that there were some nails that she didn't smooth out the powder at the top of the nail so there are bumps on two of my nails - which of course i didn't notice until after the set was damn near done. it just wasn't a great experience for being from out of state and having such high reviews then on top of that I paid almost $100 for the fill and wasn't even satisfied. read more

They have decent prices and some more pricier pedi options (one including some bubbly) depending on the extras. Overall, customer service was good. I needed my nails done quickly since I had a wedding to go to the next day and my original nail tech canceled on me last minute. I ended up coming here about and hour before I closed and so I just wanted a basic French tip. I showed her the inspo photo but she cut my nails really short and in top of that the acrylic she used was clear. I ended up paying $72 for clubbed french tip nails. I had my nails done here for the 1st time, and Tina did an amazing job on my Gel-X cat eye set! It was my first time getting this style, and I loved how they turned out. One of the nails broke the next day while I was at a wedding, but the next day I came in and they fixed it quickly and without any trouble when I came back, which I really appreciated. My toes were a different story, though. They weren't painted properly, and when I politely asked the person working on them to fix it, they responded with "OMG," so I just left it alone. The receptionist is rude and condescending. Always on her phone, never smiles or tries to help. She should not be in customer service. Also, the older lady that gives pedicures is very pushy and rude at times. She handles clients roughly. I know her name, but I will leave it out. Amy has done my nails and she is great and very personable. My last visit was $140! Nuts. I'll take my business elsewhere. I will drive the 20 minutes to my previous salon. I bought a house in Chandler and Moderns nails is five minutes away. The owner needs to know it's the clients that keep his business going. My nail tech told me that the extra chrome around my cuticles would come off with a few hand washes. However, it's now Monday and the chrome around my cuticles are still there and it's starting to chip and show the white. I have never experienced this before and am truly disappointed. Had my first visit to Moderns Nails and Spa today and it was a great experience. I was greeted the moment I walked in the door and because I wanted a hard gel manicure I had to wait a few minutes until the owner finished with another client and could do my nails. The owner was delightful, she helped me pick just the right color for me and she made sure to listen to exactly what I wanted with my nails. She was timely getting my manicure done and 8 love the shape she made my nails (I showed a pic of what I wanted). She was also super friendly and carried a conversation with me the whole time I was there. Kim did my pedicure, and I had told her that the last person who did my pedicure had a really really hurt my toes by falling off too much of the nail. So she had to be very gentle. And she was. She did a really nice job. I'm so happy with my toes! Aesthetically spa is very pleasing. It was nice and clean and decorated beautifully. The music they were playing was also very nice, not too loud and not too teeny bopper. This is my first time going here. I usually go to a different location up the road, but I may switch it up and come here because it's a little less expensive and in a nice location. read more

I paid for a pedicure, my technician (older woman- glasses) pretended to cut my cuticles, lightly scrub and barely rub my feet for massage time. She asked me multiple times for an upsale to my pedicure, before she began painting my toes l saw a nail polish color in her cart I preferred instead and when asked for it, she told me "no", l re-explained I wanted that color instead thinking she misunderstood me. She again said "no". My whole pedicure was less than 20 mins, l know this because their massage chairs have timers and l pre-selected a 20 min massage and she was finished before my chair stopped. After the pedicure l looked over my toes and my two big toe-nails were cut crooked- diagonal cut. At this point I was upset with my service or a lack there of. Nonetheless I paid and sat down waiting for my friends to finish getting their full sets of acrylics nails. A young man, owner or manager came up to me asking if l had paid? I was confused because l had. The receptionist interrupted him and told him yes, I had already paid. He proceeded to ignore her and ask for my name to confirm that l did indeed pay. No apologies after from him once he realized l had. I went in with two other friends and waited for them to finish getting their acrylic nails/ full sets. Their experience was "okay", different from mine but nothing special, their words. Before we left l did speak up and show another pedicure tech that my toe nails were crooked and cut too short. She did her best to file them straight. I'm not outspoken, I went in to try a new location, a new different nail place l found on tiktok for a relaxing pedicure with my girl friends. My goal was to find a new place I liked to book for my 8 bridesmaids and myself for my upcoming wedding and ultimately was unhappy with my service and experience. I walked in one Sunday to get an acrylic set removed. I had never been in before and didn't have an appointment. They were so kind and worked me in despite being very busy. They did a great job with the removal avoiding all pain (I've had people drill to far down with removals before and it HURTS). I didn't have anything while I was there but they offer drinks, snacks, and water with services. They offered me whatever I wanted but I said I was okay. Everyone was friendly and all customers around me were very happy with their services. Tried this place because they blew up on TikTok. We should've known better the whole online vs. reality. When I initially made the appt, I notified them that we are significantly particular about our nails & we know exactly what we want & we'd like to sit together. Our appt was for acrylic fill on Sunday at 10AM, March 2nd. I even stressed this when I sat down with my nail tech. They first sat us together then they moved my friend. Whatever. I showed her my inspo pic, seemed pretty easy enough. French with chrome on top with white 3D flowers on my ring & index finger. 1. None of my nails are the same length. 2. My right index finger looks like a mannequin finger that someone is practicing nails for their first time. It's straight, angled upwards & the french polish is majorly crooked. 3. They didn't even bother with my cuticles. 4. She forgot to do ombre on one finger (as shown in inspo pic) & she forgot I told her I wanted pearl chrome on top. 5. She couldn't do the 3D flower, had to wipe it off & try again more than 3 times. She was taking forever that I told her to just forget about the other finger. I will post inspo pics & my nails immediately after I got them done. BESIDES ALL OF THAT, 2 dudes were running around with their appt book frantically, OBVIOUSLY they were feeling the pressure from their overbooked appts. My nail tech came in on her day off. It was a Sunday. And to top it off, we were DEFINITELY being rushed. Both my friend & I wanted to cry because our nails were so horrendous. The pics don't even compare to what it actually looks like in person. My nails are bumpy, all different lengths & a horrible design. Maybe it was their off day, but we will NEVER be coming back. They advertise & promise SO MANY THINGS, but it's a complete facade. There was only ONE nail tech who looked like she knew what she was doing & was actually taking her time. I had saw this place on tik tok, I had booked an appointment with Ivy at 10, after sitting for 15 minutes they tell me Ivy had an emergency, and someone else could take me, Tony or Alvin I believe, I am unsure who I was with, but they said if you show them anything they can do it, I said okay that's fine. I understand things come up and things happen. I sit down I wanted a little shorter than medium length and square. He then talked to coworkers for a little bit before starting probably about 5 minutes. When doing the length, cut them and never asked if that length was fine, to short or to long. He kept talking so much and kept forgetting what nail he was either filing, or drilling. They look like they're about to pop off, is not the length I wanted and most of them are not straight and crooked. read more
