Bonito River Services has always been our "go to" with our heater, air, or plumbing needs. This company does take a while to send someone to your home to do the servicing, as they, like every other company, are short-handed. But they keep us informed on any kind of status: whether they need to get the parts or they are short-handed on that particular day and need to reschedule, and the workers give us a heads up when they are on their way. However, we have ALWAYS been extremely satisfied with their services because they are very efficient in what they do. Yes, they are spread thin because other companies have not really returned our phone calls or they themselves are too busy, ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER!!! Our cold months are usually from October through April. In the summer, lots of people come to vacation in Ruidoso and need their air conditioners serviced or repaired. One should call way ahead of their scheduled vacation to get on the list for servicing. I think just like we plan our vacations, we should also plan on the servicing of our units before we get to that vacation house, whether it be done prior to or at the time one gets there. JUST PUT YOURSELF ON THE WAITING LIST!! DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE UNIT BREAKS DOWN!!! It's best to call months early to get on a waiting list before you need your heater or air cleaned for the season. I also feel that heaters and air conditioners should be serviced or maintained every year so that you don't find yourself in a bind and up the creek without a paddle when the unit breaks. Again, if you have an emergency and it's WINTER, lots of companies are extremely busy and pretty booked up, and will likely take a while to get to you. Understand that Ruidoso is a small village with little resources. Ruidoso is not a city with lots and lots of plumbing companies. In the past, we have tried to call other plumbing services, but nobody has really answered our phone calls or have been told they don't have enough people to come and work on our issues. This one company told me his fees were $$$ per hour (extremely and ridiculously high). It was almost $60 more than what most others quoted me. I almost fell of my chair. I will not mention his company because it's not even worth mentioning. A couple of weeks ago, we had Arthur come and assess our plumbing issues throughout the house. He made suggestions of what needed major fixing in our plumbing and explained the why, how, and when and gave us with his opinion. Today, 11/10/2022, we had Arthur, Matthew, and George come out and all did a superb job in the completion of our plumbing installations. I believe at one point, someone brought in an apprentice to show him the "how to's" (I think). They are all very knowledgeable, very pleasant to work with, and even cleaned up well after they were done. We will continue to use Bonito Services, even if they are spread thin. Contacted BRS to replace an old worn-out AC & furnace system that wasn't providing an acceptable level of comfort. Mr Dunn suggested an option I hadn't considered, once the estimate was received, Ms Billie scheduled the project within my limitations. The removal and install team of Jerry & Duane were professional & courteous providing me daily expectations, updates, and end of day progress. Several challenges were encountered due to the age, structure, and wiring of home, the team explained the issue and offered options followed by their subject matter expertise (SME) recommendations, which usually were very informative and educational (for me). Their supervisor (Estaban) visited the job site several times to ensure I was satisfied with the project progress and on occasion when the team needed a second opinion for a solution to overcome a challenge. He also, as an SME contributed to the work performed and problem-solving. Safety was always a consideration in their decision-making and work-performance along with caring for the cleanliness of the work area, especially during inclement weather. On occasion, I overheard the team calling the company senior SME for heat-pump & air-handler guidance during some problem-solving. Which I respect. I highly recommend BRS as a complete team, from the administrative personnel to the installation team as professionals who care about customer service, product quality, safety, and building relations. read more

We have an older home with a gas light fireplace. The valve was leaking and needed to be changed. They first came out and examined the pipe, took pictures, and ordered the part. A few days later, Jose arrived to change it out. Like I said, this is an older home and this was a tough change out. The space was tight and the pipes really stuck! Jose did a fantastic job! He tested it and showed me that it was sealed well and in working order. Just as he was getting ready to leave, someone from the office called to make sure I was happy with the job before he finished up. He even cleaned up the whole fireplace and pipe! This was fantastic service and we will definitely use them again, as well as refer them to anyone who needs plumbing. As a side note, we also used them to a few days ago to replace a toilet ring that was leaking. They came out the same day, fixed it in less than 30 minutes. We received the bill in the mail a few days later and it was very reasonable. I had the pleasure to work with Arthur twice....once for finding a leak that turned out to be a faulty dishwasher. And a second time to install the new dishwasher, dishwasher supply line valve, replaced shower converter and tighten a toilet to the floor. on both occasions I found Arthur to be very professional in his interaction, clean uniform, well groomed. Arthur is an exceptional technician. I'll call for him every time. On Arthur's first call he brought w/ him...Alex. Nice man. 5 star. Also clean uniform, well groomed, was eager to learn. Recently our heater went out on a Thursday night with the temperature in the 20's. When I called Bonita Heating Friday early morning to see if they could get someone out before the weekend, they said they were really busy with the temperatures but they would see what they could do.... then had someone at my door in an hour. Daniel found the unit was low on freon, but also discovered an error in the installation from years ago (not by Bonito) that was causing a slow leak. He said that was the ultimate cause, and although it would take awhile to repair, that he wouldn't leave until it was working and we had heat. He worked most of the day and got it working by late afternoon. The staff at Bonito are very nice and care about their customers, Daniel was absolutely wonderful, and I will never use anyone else to care for our heating/cooling needs. Marshall Smith read more

I can't say enough great things about Bonito River Services. My heating went out over New Years. We called everyone we could find but no answer. A friend recommended Bonito so I gave them a call. A lovely woman named Billie not only answered but was warn, friendly and immediately got me worked into their very busy service call list. Right on time Rives, their great repair guy showed up to get busy on our repair. Rives also was friendly with a great customer service attitude. He took the time to be helpful in explaining things and what needed to be done. I'm so happy to have met these people and Bonito River Services. In October 2025 I had a water heater installed by Bonita River Services of Ruidoso, NM. This was the third time we have used this company. I was very pleased with the service and found everyone from the initial phone call, the person who conducted the estimate, and the installers to be very professional. The two individuals, Josh and Brandon, that installed the water heater were very professional and did an excellent job. Both Josh and Brandon answered questions when asked, were extremely polite and professional, took precautions to ensure they did not damage anything in the house, and made sure the area was cleaned before they left. Before leaving they explained how the water heater functioned. I called Bonita River Service when my water heater stopped working. Arthur came out the next day and checked out the heater. It was dead. He suggested a tankless water heater as a replacement. I thought that was a great idea. Nate, the company owner, came over and evaluated the project and gave me a quote. Really nice guy! The next day George and Chris arrived. They were totally awesome! They were professional, polite and did a super job! They did a beautiful work installing the tankless water heater and running a gas line. George was great about explaining what they were doing and instructing me on using the water heater. It was a big job that took a day and a half to complete. Our water spigot (hose bib) was leaking by outside. I wasn't in town to fix it so I called Bonito River Services (BRS) to fix it. They were able to schedule it in a couple of days, which is quick service as this wasn't an emergency. Arthur Rojas showed up and gave me a call. He found that it was just a bad washer and he replaced it. BRS has yet to disappoint me, they have been up to my place a few times and they are always professional and find the source of the problem and fix it! I want to thank Arthur for being a good employee for a good company. Tankless water heater shutdown is bad enough, but in the winter, just miserable. Next day service, hours spent on technical diagnostic efforts including multiple phone calls to the manufacturer and even dragging the owner into the mess was so impressive! Full explanation of cost/benefit options for repair vs. replacement made the replacement decision a no-brainer and the installation crew of Daniel and George arrived within an hour, staying until after 5 to complete the professional installation, even replacing old valves which were not part of the expected work. Grab bars installation in tile step in shower. We needed grab bars installed after my husband's total knee replacement. I called Bonito River services , Billie referred me to Arthur. He was wonderful, courteous and informative. We discussed the requirements, sizes, diameter ect. He very efficiently setup an appointment for Ansel to come. Ansel was fabulous, came at appointed time, had the grab bars- we discussed the requirements for placement. He was awesome with experience to drill into the tile and place them. Love calling on Bonito for help with our plumbing/heating/AC needs. Someone always answers the phone when I call. They always call back and give us a date for service. The employees they send always call ahead to let us know they are coming. Today, Arthur and Eliseo took care of plumbing needs throughout the house. Both men were super pleasant and helpful. They took care of most of our "list" of needs today and will have to order parts to fix the remainder of the list. Arthur and Peyton did a wonderful job helping us with a leak under the bathroom sink. As it turns out , we needed to replace not only all of the plumbing under the sink but also the cabinet. Our house is 50 years old and although we have had work done on that sink in recent year, it was poorly done. The bottom of the cabinet was moldy, and we had to get rid of it. Bonito River Services scheduled us quickly and then rescheduled us again the next day for for the installation of the new sink and cabinet because we had family coming in the next day. When there was a question on the best way to handle a tricky situation, Arthur FaceTimed with his supervisor to confirm the best solution to the problem. I was ready to give up on my water heater. Arthur and Chris knew a 6 year old heater was not the problem. They checked the water pressure. Pressure too high had recently caused a water leak in the wall, a new temp & pressure valve over working and wasting water and even at the lowest temperature setting, the heater was still trying to heat the water which had doubled my gas bill for the month.
