What a wonderful place to eat!! The atmosphere is perfect for the home town food served. The service was excellent. The Friday night fish fry buffet, according to my husband, was delicious. I have to eat gluten free so all of the fried foods were off limits to me but there was a nice amount of salad fixings, cooked veggies and wonderful mashed potatoes. We also ate there for breakfast and the veggie omelet I had was filled with the most perfectly sauteed onions, green peppers and mushrooms. They didn't have any gluten free bread but their hash browns were gf and delicious. Again, my husband ate from the breakfast buffet and was very pleased with the offerings. Driving from SC to Independence MO, got off the interstate to grab a bite on. Sunday morning. I was looking for the Hardee's but ended up driving in towards town and as I was turning around I found the Bonnie Cafe. I had the breakfast buffet, and it was really good! I had eggs, biscuits and gravy, all hot and fresh. Finished up with a fresh pancake with hot syrup and bacon, which was cooked perfectly. Service was great, wait staff were friendly and very helpful! Not a bad place to stop in for lunch or dinner. The food was average, nothing blew me away or made me turn up my nose, but definitely filled the need. There is quite a selection on the buffet and they seem to have pretty good specials. The chicken was pretty good. It's a big place so no issues getting a table. Soooo.... Nashville. Never been before. 3 miles off 64. Bonnie's lacks ambience but is clearly A local favorite. Full parking lot at 9:30 on a Saturday morning. Appears to be an old butler building. Open floor plan. Not much charm. Cheap though. Some differentiating signage as to when it was established, 2012 v. 2017. They had a large buffet to set up for lunch but we got the Bonnie Belly Buster. Clean bathrooms, family friendly. I would say it lacks "ambiance" but once again can't beat the price and for breakfast it was pretty good. I take that back. It was very good. Eggs were perfect. Shredded hash browns. Brewed iced tea. Service slightly slow but it was crowded. Definitely worth the trip. read more

We stopped by on our way to St. Louis. It's only 3 miles off the beaten path and reminds me of the diner from "dumb and dumber". Someone needed to yell out "kick his ass sea bass" to complete the vibe I was getting. Overall this is a great place for reasonably priced food. For 2 of us the bill was $13 and that was with dessert. You do get what you pay for here. We loved our server, she and I had a quick conversation about Beatles vs Elvis which made for good banter. read more

This was my first time going to the one in Nashville, and my experience was terrible. First on their special they ran out of the one I wanted, but I question how they arrange their orders. Because 2 tables that came in after us got their's order a before me, and they had the same thing I originally ordered. Next when we did receive our meals no one came by the tabe and ask if everything was fine, they did with other tables. My side of Mac & Chesse I got was completely cold. Bonnie's is a cute place just north of the main center of town where the waitresses all have the same uniform. They have plenty of lunch and dinner specials with rotating sides and desserts. It's a spacious dining room with a friendly staff. I got the fish and chips and was pleased with it. (The plate was a little small for the amount of food, but whatever!) I'll definitely come back and try some dessert! The only downside is the parking lot. With the crest of the road to the south and a curve in the road to to north, it's hard to see who's coming from either direction as you pull out. I don't normally write reviews but this place has went downhill. I'm hoping management may see this to fix the staff and make it great again. We've eaten here quite a bit in the last few years and it used to be consistently good. Last few times it's been very poor. Got a breakfast sandwich last time and the piece of sausage was the size of a half dollar. I would have been embarrassed to serve it. Some of our orders were forgotten and had to be fetched. My son's fries were too greasy for him to eat. Service was very slow and there were only 4 other customers. Bathrooms were very unclean. On the previous visit my wife had to have her order reheated. This place is nasty. The service is the worst. They are rude and don't smile and introduced them self nothing. The food taste like they got it out of a TV dinner. The place could of been cleaner.
