The food and service is so great, I am there every week. It's a short drive from Winona that is definitely worth it.

It may be under new ownership but Dave (former owner) is still standing watch over the quality control and cafe conversation. The service is always good and the wait staff is kind and friendly. Immediately filled the drink order and meal order. Breakfast all day or at least until they close at 2PM. I had the Chicken Fried Steak. Plenty of food and the gravy is to die for! Bonnie Rae's is a true small town gem. It is family run including taking orders, serving, and cooking. Everyone is friendly and courteous. The food is reasonably priced and the portions nice sized. The menu is full of local treats as well as standard breakfast items. The restaurant is only open until 2pm. Check before you make the trip. If you're in the area it's worth stopping by and having a taste of home cooking. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this small town diner-like establishment! Nice, welcoming people & my breakfast was good. I had the veggie omelet w/English muffin & hashbrowns (shredded) w/a "large" glass of OJ. Driving there, I thought I was going to the wrong location lol (yes... it's located in the midst of farmland) so don't drive past it too fast. We were in the La Crosse area and we're looking for a place for breakfast. After an exhaustive search we decided to drive 45 minutes away and try this quaint place in Rollingstone. None of the local restaurants looked as favorable. We were not disappointed and would drive even farther to eat here. The service was incredible and the food was outstanding. We had the 3 meat and cheese omelette with what I thought was the best ham I had ever had and also had the cinnamon French toast. So good!!!!! We are looking to return the next time we are in La Crosse. Take a trip out of the way to this amazing little restaurant. read more

Hands down, the best breakfast or lunch in the area! I've went out of my way to bring my neighbors, relatives & friends to Bonnie Rae's, just to show them how things used to be. The portions are filling, the service is great AND the food quality is the best! This little family run cafe is a hidden gem, just outside of Winona. I still favor the "David" omelette, (named after Bonnie Rae's husband) , hash browns with fried onions, toast & a large OJ. I've tried the specials on occasion too. Pancakes are awesome. Always satisfied. Their patty melts hit the spot & their burgers too. Id bet you won't get an order of onion rings or fries w/ your burger anywhere else this size either. The deserts are delicious & will make you need a nap, especially the apple crisp. read more

The food at Bonnie Rae's cafe is superb. Traditional midwest breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, omelets and hashbrowns) at it's simple best. Great price, good service, and a small town atmosphere to match. I stopped in for a mid-morning breakfast and I was not disappointed. My eggs, hash browns, rye toast, & a pancake were tasty and the type of food you'd expect from a diner. It was made to order. My service was fine and the price was fair. I even liked the coffee. I recommend this place and plan to stop there again. read more
