Loose leaf tea list (October 2021).
    Kedar D.

It's hard to gripe with a vegan tea shop in small town Minnesota. This is Curiosi-Tea's second location (the first is in Mankato, 2.5 hours to the west) and it rounds out the limited vegan options in Winona, while also offering a great selection of loose-leaf tea. The food items are simple and limited. I got a flatbread made with Herbivorous Butcher bacon, Violife cheese and vegetables ($7.50 + $1 for cheese). They also had a homemade chickpea filling that had run out, unfortunately. The flatbread was fine, if not more than the sum of its parts. That said, I enjoyed the minestrone soup ($3), the homemade croutons and the homemade potato chips which had great crunch. The vegan tofu chia pudding ($3) also hit the spot as a healthy but tasty dessert. Stop by Curiosi-Tea for a cup of tea and a light meal.

Please try this wonderful tea house! This shop has it all... wonderful selection of teas and vegan treats, sweet gift shop, plenty of room and a few private rooms set up like grandma's house for you and a small book group, or just for studying, etc... The signage is almost nonexistent outside so keep your eyes peeled. My new favorite place!

We got a vegan quiche ($14) which was gluten-free and tasted pretty good. We also had a vegan peanut butter dessert bar thing that was nice. This is the perfect spot if you're looking for a vegan breakfast or need to stock up on staples while in Winona.

A quick search led us to the co-op. Their website has the daily menu posted which was extremely helpful (and tantalizing!) Their hours were reasonable given the season and the options plentiful. Both days of chilly, cold climbing ended with trips to the co-op for fresh organic veggies, fruit, as well as chocolate and snacks. But also with a HOT MEAL which was so appreciated by us. We took everything to our hotel room and feasted. Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly and wonderful. The kitchen space (which was open and visible) was clean, organized and smelled great. The soups were awesome also and the leftovers from the day prior were available to take home and heat (so we were able to try one we thought we missed from the day prior - lucky us!) We enjoyed everything and love the prepackaged salads and desserts as well as the mains. The whole place was easy to navigate and had wonderful options. We know we have a good option for healthy, organic, and plant-based food during our next visit to Winona to climb which we are already looking forward to. Kudos to the staff of this co-op and to the community for supporting such a wonderful establishment. Winona is an impressive little community that should continue to support the outdoor activities year round it can host. We were glad to bring our dollars and our business to the community thanks to the folks running the ice climbing park and this awesome co-op.

While not always on the menu, ask for a raspberry lemon drop and you won't regret it. The BEST one I've ever had. I will be begging the bartenders to teach me their ways before they close their doors. This is our top choice in town to celebrate accomplishments and achievements. The tavern and patio offer a more casual ambiance, while the restaurant itself is chic and has an element of more formality. The staff is always ALWAYS incredible and thoughtful. The food is always on point, interesting, and flavorful. This place will be well-missed come March, but I know I will be back here plenty in the mean time to get my fill and and support this staff before then.

We were so fortunate that they were able to seat us on the outdoor patio facing the water. This restaurant isn't just great for the views--the food and drinks here were phenomenal as well. Our appetizers of beer-battered cheese curds and mussels were so flavorful and hit the spot. We also loved our fish tacos and linguini with scallops (I absolutely loved the crushed red pepper that came with it too!). Our food all paired nicely with their extensive cocktail/drinks menu, which included many different breweries and distilleries. This is one of those restaurants you'll remember visiting forever--definitely come visit if you can!
