Very small location with not much to see inside found it a bit strange that it did not smell like a bakery at all. The pastries were good but not extremely note worthy. Definitely a good spot to go to if you just want a quick sweet treat. The service is good! read more

Went this Thursday evening and it was dead. The girl at the counter was really friendly and helpful. I definitely want to go back and try more items to give this place a full review but I enjoyed most the pastries I got! I did agree it was a little overpriced and I didn't like that the receipt wasn't itemized so I didn't know what pastries cost what. I absolutely loved the chocolate and pistachio rolls they were delicious and the Dubai chocolate was great too. My friend said she enjoyed the tres leches cake and it looked moist. What I didn't enjoy was the chocolate chip cookie it was dry and looked kinda old and also the cinnamon bun was really dry could have used more icing or more filling? But I would definitely try this place again and see what other items I don't like. It's worth a stop just try what looks good to you. read more

Two things hold true for this place. First, the rumors are true, it doesn't smell like bakery. Two, just a Dubai chocolate pastry cost me $7.50. The chocolate was delicious, although I'm not a dark chocolate fan. I would go back if I had a friend that says they want to try Dubai chocolate, as that's the only place I know that has it. I would try something else if I ever went back. Also, the place is clean, bright, inviting, and the desserts are well displayed-- despite it not smelling like baked goods (not bad but like old basement). I was entering as someone was walking out so ringing out was quick and sufficient. Although a great experience, the ambience could've been more lit, but you can't help if it's busy or not. Maybe music would've made it better. More decor, and space taken up. Also, the price is just insane though rent isn't cheap, and I only tried one thing thus far. . Thanks for the product ! read more

This is the only bakery I have ever been in that doesn't smell like a bakery. The fruit torte filling is just canned fruit goop. The croissants taste and feel like they're from Costco. The cupcakes and cakes look like they were brought in from the Stop & Shop bakery. read more

I went late in the day, so the selection was not very good. All the pictures they post look wonderful but can't really judge until I actually see a full bakery and try some more things. It's nice looking. It's clean. Service was awesome. Just not a large selection when I went. We'll try it again though. read more

Visited Bonnie's on my lunch break after following her on social media for a while and seeing how good her treats looked. Unfortunately, it was ultimately quite a let down, and in my personal opinion, they're going to have to do a lot of improvements to stay in business long-term. Let's just say that looks can be deceiving. At first glance, it's definitely impressive to see the displays, and the cafe is nicely decorated. However, it didn't take long for us to realize this was going to be a painful experience. I ordered their chicken wrap from the specials and a few desserts, and there was no one in front of me in line or any other orders that they were preparing at the time. Despite that, it took such a long time to get everything and check out, mostly because the staff member was struggling to ring out the chicken wrap special because she didn't know the price of it. I brushed this aside though, and my mom and friend proceeded to order a bunch of desserts to take home. I was the only one who ordered a lunch item and began to regret it when it took half of my lunch break to receive it. Maybe it's on me for not asking, but there was no description of what was on the chicken wrap, and if I had known I would have asked for it without the peppers. The best way I can describe it is that it was very "wet" and became sloppy fast. The chicken strips were cut abnormally long and it was kind of difficult to eat, so I only ate half and figured I would move onto dessert to see if they could redeem themselves. I'll note that nothing is labeled for the desserts, so what I'm going to call a "chocolate mousse square" was okay, but didn't blow me away. My friend had a stale blueberry scone, and my mom's pistachio croissant that she was so excited to try was very dried out. She also told me the baklava was the worst she's ever had. I had already bought a cupcake to bring to another friend at this time, and was later embarrassed when they said it was dry and seemed either made from a cake mix or had been frozen at one point. When my mom ordered a tea from the menu, they told her they didn't have it, so she opted for water instead, which was fine. However, when she went to check out, she noticed that she was charged $2.00 for the water, which was literally from the tap and in a mason-jar style glass. This was not from a bottle, and we were shocked and honestly appalled that they're greedy enough to charge for tap water. When my mom questioned this with the girl at the register, the girl checked with the owner and came back out saying yes, the charge still stands. That really sealed the deal for all of us, especially because the owner didn't even come out to discuss this with my mom herself. Clearly corners are being cut here, even their chairs are so rickety we questioned if we were going to fall when we sitting down. I'm still in shock from how quickly this whole experience went downhill when we had such high expectations. I truly have a passion for supporting local businesses and hate writing reviews like this, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in a while. read more

Terrific little bakery just north of Waterbury, CT. Freshly baked and bursting with flavor, it was hard to only eat one item per person, but they were so rich and filling, more than one was impossible. The staff was friendly and attentive and the presentation of the food, which we ate in the cafe, was wonderful. I couldn't recommend Bonnie's more highly. Well worth the 40 minute drive from the New Haven area on a sunny morning!! read more

Open, bright, clean atmosphere. Caught her at closing and she still opened to give us coffee, and the almond croissant was huge and delicious, despite being 8 at night! I've been looking for an alternative to DD and Starbucks, something open afternoon to early evening to have a coffee with a friend or work online. This place has potential! Unimpressed. If I wanted Doctored up box cake mix cupcakes with premanufactured frosting I'd just go to Adams and buy some Duncan Hines. If a bakery can't make their items from scratch what's the point? Also, whats labeled as croissants look NOTHING like croissants but rather a sloppy mess slathered with frosting....Newsflash croissants don't need obnoxious colored frosting of you're making them from scratch. You can keep the Pillsbury chemical filled mix crap! No thanks! I should have known when the owner was asked if she makes nut free items due to someones allergies and her response was "Yes, we do, but...." Then the answer would be NO! There are no BUT's to someone with a food allergy lady, YOU WILL KILL SOMEONE! Won't be returning. First and last time there. Came in for lunch with my daughter and her friend. Girl behind the counter had zero familiarity with the menu. I asked for two different teas that were on their menu screen- claimed they didn't have them, or she didn't understand what I wanted. So i asked for water. It was brought in a mason jar with mostly ice and a couple sips of tap water. When I went up to pay and get some baked goods to go home, she charged me $2.00 for water. I asked- you charge for tap water? This was not a bottle of spring water or anything. This was a glass full of mostly ice. The girl went to "ask her boss". She came back and said the charge stood. I said well tell your boss this will be the last time I'll be here. Even the girl seemed embarrassed honestly. I felt kind of sorry for her because she clearly didn't know the menu or how to do much of anything (I felt like I could have jumped in behind the counter and helped out better). My daughter's wrap was soggy and disgusting, the scones were dried out and old. If you need to charge $2.00 for tap water, you have to be pretty greedy. Considering how dead it was in there when we walked in at lunch hour, I'd say their time is limited. read more

I stopped by a few days ago with all the posts on facebook I figured why not try something new. I'm not sure quite honestly what all the chatter is about, but I purchased two cupcakes and a scone. The topping was unquestionably manufactured. The size in comparison to other bakeries was extremely small and lack luster. The scone? Why on earth a bakery would frost a scone is beyond me but it didn't help mask how dry and flavorless it was. In speaking with some other locals I found out this owner has been causing a lot of trouble for other local businesses. Leaving bad reviews on competitor pages and filing complaints. Doesn't surprise me. If you have a quality product you don't sweat competition. We are a small town, and word travels fast. Doing that nonsense I'd be surprised if they last a year. The girl behind the counter was nice, but I had to explain to her the slop she was calling a croissant was anything but a croissant.
