I'm just feeling a little regretful picking this place over a few other options that I had wanted to try. I feel bad because the girl working was nice and I didn't have to wait long for my order. But I got the banana foster latte with almond milk and I only had a few sips before throwing it out. I was already not loving the choices/flavors they had, but went with that one because I do like sweeter drinks and like both banana and caramel. This did not taste like that to me at all. Stopped by this cool coffee shop in Downtown Middletown. I was really impressed about their coffee selections. I got a brew iced coffee and a raspberry chocolate iced coffee. Bother were fantastic! The raspberry coffee drinks had a nice unique flavor. The staff were super friendly, and the place has a cozy, welcoming vibe. Lots of pastries options too. Sweet Harmony did my son's birthday cake last month and it was FABULOUS. We got the Oreo cake and everyone raved about it. We simply added a snow leopard topper (that's what he wanted ‍) and it was the cake of his dreams. I was also impressed that they did this with just a couple days' notice. We took our grandchild to tour Wesleyan and arrived in Middletown at least 90 minutes before our scheduled 1:00 tour. Drove downtown, had no trouble finding parking, and walked a block or so to this place; it's only open until 3, and this was around 11:30. It was empty but we took a chance. It's pretty big inside, and really cute, so we guessed they must be really busy mornings and of course when the college is in session. Teen had grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup and loved it. Hubs and I chose omelets.They were really more like filled crepes, thin eggs folded neatly around the fillings. I had mushrooms and provolone, he had spinach and cheddar. You get a choice of bread with the omelet. My croissant was huge! Biggest croissant I've ever seen, and it was delicious. We had coffees, 2 decaf, and they dripped us a fresh pot, good coffee. The pastries looked amazing and they offer a variety of sandwiches with meat, which we don't eat, but what we had was very good, made to order, reasonably priced. With only three months under their belt the new owners of Sweet Harmony Cafe & Bakery are absolutely killing it. This place is located in Middletown, CT on Main Street. The owners are friends and their barrista on this fine Sunday morning is the sister of one of the owners. I don't know her name so I'll refer to her as Sista Barrista. She made my Lex on the Beach cappuccino with oat milk (hazelnut and coconut) and it was heavenly. I also had the avocado toast on gluten free bread. Fresh sliced avocado and tomato robed with a light medium sunny-side-up egg with a sprinkling of everything bagel seasoning. Each bite was perfection. They have a wonderful menu with gluten-free and vegan options. The pastries are special and anything but boring. Here again they offer gluten-free options. They also make the most gorgeous cakes to celebrate any occasion. They offer cake sizes starting at 4" all the way up to 14" rounds, and 1/4, 1/2, and full sheet cakes. Some flavors include: Tiramisu, Pistachio, Red Velvet, Peanut Butter Dream, Wedding Cake and more! The owners are incredibly friendly and fun. They are clearly hardworking too! Floor was covered in crumbs, excessive use of single-use plastic, food was kinda meh and seemed put together from pre-made items (crepe mix, whipped cream from a can, biscuit from a supermarket, proceeded cheese) rather than made fresh. I purchased a 10" cake from Sweet Harmony for my daughter's baby shower. It was fabulous!!! Beautifully decorated and four layers of deliciousness!!! They decorated it based on the design from the invitation and it was perfect. Even copied the exact lettering. Sadly, I didn't get the baker's name, but she was so easy to work with and talk to. This was the only bakery I could find that clearly listed their prices on their website. If you are looking for a bakery to make a cake for a special celebration, I would definitely meet with the baker from Sweet Harmony! I won't hesitate to order a cake from them again. read more

A poor lone girl behind a separate counter cooking on a home electric pancake griddle - not even 20 inches long. No wonder the wait is like forever. Came out cold with a hunk of butter that wasn't melting at all. He also ordered a hot sandwich which was also cold. Also coffee which I assume is their specialty, is nothing but average. I heard that Sweet Harmony was under new management, so we just had to try it out. The food was fantastic! I had a perfect latte, a figgy flatbread to die for and a nice hot cup of tomato basil soup. My friend had an omelet and asked if she could lick the plate, it was that good. I'd have given five stars, but we were a little turned off by the paper cups and plates. We were in Middletown for the weekend and came here for breakfast both mornings. The chocolate croissant was one of the best I've had! I've been looking for anything remotely as good as this in NYC and have not found it. The breakfast sandwiches were also very good! The wake up call sandwich on their homemade jalapeño cheddar bagel was so delicious, so we had that both mornings. My boyfriend had the huevos racheros wrap and it was one of the best he's had. Enjoyed Sweet Harmony very much! They are extremely accommodating and helpful. My friend and I visited on a Sunday morning and it was our first visit. The person we spoke to, who I believe was an owner, we patient with us as we browsed the menu and made our choices. She offered suggestions and we chose some lattes as well as avocado toast to share. They prepared our lattes in mugs as we stayed there to eat our toast. The lattes were well prepared and delicious with great presentation. The avocado toast was made to our liking as well with gluten free toast and eggs cooked as we specified. This place is very cute inside. Plenty of tables to sit at and a window seat as well. I ordered a key lime pie for and event and the whole experience was wonderful. The pie was beautifully packaged and delicious. It had a thick frosting around the edges instead of a whipped cream used by many. They made the pie with only one day notice. My new favorite place to go for a coffee and a treat ! They have a very cute place with plenty of seating and changing table in the bathroom for all the families to use. They sell breakfast/lunch items making a sweet potato grilled cheese that sounds amazing and you can also create your own Italian sodas (pic below) and crepes. I went with a off menu item she suggested the Devil's Advocate which normally had dark chocolate but I chose white cocoa and cinnamon instead. My cousin had a banana foster both iced coffees. She handed us our drinks and waited until she saw our reactions to see if we wanted to tweak the taste. Went for lunch today with my 3 year old after doing some shopping at the local toy store. I was looking for somewhere we could sit outside to people watch and keep my toddler entertained. We went inside and ordered very easily at the counter. We got the Mighty Club sandwich with chips, an extra side of fruit and a bottle of water. We went outside and waited a very long time. Ultimately it took over 30 minutes for our one sandwich. The food was good, fruit fresh and sitting outside was nice, but probably won't be returning based on how long the wait for food was. read more

And Yelp brought me to a quiet (pre-bustling) Main Street to find some Sweet Harmony. Omelettes and Crepes for breakfast, with just about anything you can think of to fill them with. I went with somewhat traditional ingredients, bacon tomato avocado and cheese, but these fresh bakers have such a large array of things to suit your fancy that they should please everyone. Their baked goods are so tempting, but I just couldn't bring myself to indulge this early in the day. Gone with the relocation to Main Street is the Victorian charm of the old restaurant, but the friendliness of the entire staff continues. The menu has been greatly expanded and not for the better, but the quiche with a small salad that we customarily order is still available. Orders are now taken by the cashier and delivered to the table. We were delighted by the day's quiche, spinach and cheese that was served with a fresh garden salad with dressings on the side. I settled on Vidalia onion while my wife choose the house dressing, raspberry vinaigrette. As we were ordering, two members of the staff brought out 4 trays of freshly baked scones. We could not resist ordering a blueberry and a sweet potato that we reheated the next day for breakfast. Although the $3 price of each may initially seem high, these were very large. It is unfortunate though that while each was tasty, these had neither the flavor nor texture associated with a scone. read more

My partner and I are frequent guests at Sweet Harmony. We found it at first using yelp but from out first visit I knew it was a five star spot. Trang made us feel right at home. After ordering a sausage egg and cheese (possibly the best I have ever had because they wrap the egg around the cheese to melt it) and the black forest ham sandwich, my partner had to choose a cookie or chips with his sandwich. We had already picked up a chocolate raspberry bar (yes, it is as good as it sounds), so he wanted chips. When I said I wanted a cookie, Trang gave us one, each, on the house! The sandwiches are amazing. The cookies are good. Trang and the rest of the staff are really pleasant. The cafe has ample seating even though we typically pick up food to go. Not to mention, the theme of free baked goods continues. When we went back a few weekends ago, they were having buy-on-get-one free on baked goods. It was such a happy day. All the baking is done in house. It feels very homemade in that hearty wonderful way. The baked goods have some unusual options as well which is fun. Basically, go here for sandwiches and cookies.
