    Tripleta

I recently ordered a Tripleta sandwich (three meats, steak, pernil and ham on a long flat roll with lettuce, tomato, etc.) and a Papas Rellenas by Door Dash. Sometimes, when you have a great version of a sandwich, less good versions of the sandwich eaten around then suffer by comparison. Such is the case with the Borinquen Tripleta. The meat wasn't as good as the other sandwich. The toppings weren't as good. The bread wasn't managed as well. The sandwich was fine. Average. But since Borinquen is near the other place, I wouldn't order a Tripleta from there again. I might try them for bakery goods. The Papas Rellanas, a fried mashed potato ball stuffed with seasoned ground beef, was pretty good. 3 Stars

Really enjoyed trying this bakery. They have a large assortment of sweets including cakes, doughnuts and other pastries. We tried the carrot, lemon pound cake, coconut cake and red velvet. I personally loved the coconut cake. It was so moist, not overly sweet, just the perfect pillow. Service was fast and there were a few employees available to take orders. Seemed pretty busy on a weekday during lunch time with some patrons sitting inside enjoying their fare. Definitely plan to return when in the area.

To go order this time. They get pretty busy so I was lucky to find an empty parking spot. I had to wait a little bit to pick up my order but the ambiance inside was very bright and relaxed. Spanish music playing in the background, made me feel like I was on a resort island. The bread for the Cuban sandwich was very good and warm however, I was missing mayonnaise and pickles, which I thought were pretty standard.I will definitely return and try something else.

After one visit, it's easy to see why Borinquen Bakery is known as one of the best Puerto Rican bakeries in the state. We were impressed with everything we had! Cases full of goodies, beautiful custom cakes, and even delicious lunch options. We went at 7:30am on a Sunday to avoid the line and look over the cases before they were picked over, and we're so glad that we did, because there was definitely a line by 8am. Some stand out items were the ham egg and cheese mallorca, pan quesito, and their fresh loaf of bread. Everything here is high quality and authentic. We will definitely be back!

Ordered Cuban sandwich and asked to be cut in 3 parts. Response was "no". When I received my sandwich, it barely had pork meat and meat was dried. The little pork that was in the sandwich, was in the middle of the sandwich so it appears is enough. In addition, they used yellow cheese. Normally Cuban sandwich requires swiss cheese. Cheesecake was also poor quality and dried. Poor customer service and extrelly disappointment with food.

This is my first time here. Great service, the staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered all three different preparations of their guava pastries and they were delicious! I missed the ones I would get in Adjuntas, PR and these hit the spot. The place was also set up with COVID-19 precautions which I appreciate, such as see through protectors, spacing between people, everyone wearing a mask, and a one way in one way out system. I will be coming back again!

This is the first time I am visiting a Puerto rican bakery. Prices were reasonable. there was a small line inside the store. Also the store had some tables and chairs. They also have a small parking lot attached to the side. Tembleque was my favorite item here. It was like a coconut pudding with some cinnamon sprinkled on top. It was not that sweet. Flancocho was a layer of flan on top of a layer of cake. They had a kind of ice cream similar to italian ice. I tried the parcha (passion fruit flavor) and it was good. Guava pastry was good too.

    Almost home!

The last time I got something, a burrito, the rice inside was clearly not fresh, everything was grossly oversalted, and the "steak" looked more like tiny burnt strips of salisbury steak. Additionally, the menu is posted with no prices and many items on the posted menu are not available. I truly hope this food truck takes this to heart and starts offering quality, well-made food instead of the "it'll do in a pinch" stuff that I've experienced every time. I want this guy to succeed because it's important for local businesses to thrive, but there are dozens and dozens of better mobile offerings and he would do well to study the food they serve. I will do everything I can to avoid eating from the truck for the foreseeable future because it's a waste of money, based on my experiences.

I ordered Sweet Chili Wings, a Beef Empanada, and the Pork Chop Bowl. The Sweet Chili Wings were crispy and flavorful but I have pet peeve when someone pours the sauce onto the wings instead of mixing the wings in a bowl with the sauce. The Empanada were delicious, full of flavor, and full of meat. It was fried to perfection and not too oily. I love a good fried Pork Chop so I decided to order a Pork Chop Bowl. The Pork Chop Bowl was really lacking flavor and the Spanish Rice was okay but the Pork Chops had a good amount of meat on them. One suggestion I would make is to add the prices on the menu. The owner was very pleasant and very outgoing and I'm glad I got to try out his food.

They have a good amount of seating available inside and great options to choose from. We did end up grabbing some made to order alcapurrias. All 3 tasted good but they needed hot sauce, lacking in flavor. I felt as the chicken one lacked the most flavor but was ok when hot sauce added & so did the pork one. I'll say that the ground beef alcapurria was my favorite out of the 3; although I still personally felt they all needed some hot sauce to add that kick missing. An alcapurria is a known Puerto Rican fritura/fried street food, growing up to even being an adult it's one of my favorite things if done right. We also had the bistec with rice, a side of beans, & a side of plantains. As well as the pernil with yellow rice. Both of these dishes lacked flavor, again needing hot sauce or missing something. The beans did have a good amount of flavor, which I enjoyed, & the plantains were slightly over fried. The visit itself was satisfying, I would return to give them another shot as well as hopefully try their carne guisada plate, which wasn't available at the time I went that day. I didn't give this business a 4 star rating simply because of the lack of flavor in mostly each item ordered. I would give it a solid 3.8 if I could.
