Bonz has become a regular place for us. Always have had a great meal, great cocktails and have never been disappointed yet!

Bonz has been my go-to restaurant for fine dining the past five or six years. My undoubted favorites were the crab dishes, such as crab imperial and crab cake, and the lobster ravioli. I was disappointed this week to find that the crab cake and lobster ravioli had been removed from the menu, and the crab imperial was a mere parody of what it had been in past years. Previously both the crab cakes and crab imperial offered large portions of genuine lump crab meat, with just a little binding to hold them together. I found the current crab imperial deficient in the actual quantity of crab meat, and I suspect it wasn't the lump variety. The sauce tasted very strongly of Dijon mustard. I suppose if I had never eaten the crab dishes previously served at Bonz I might have been content with this version of crab imperial, but having been served the "real deal" in the past, no one can possibly be content with what they're offering now. In lieu of crab cakes, the menu offered crab balls, which were big, and fairly tasty, but once again, the crab itself was deficient and not of a quantity to justify the price. Took my mom to this casino to give her some recreation. While she played I decided to dine for a late lunch/ early dinner; it was around 3pm. My waiter was a male, I forget his name, younger and very attentive. I was pleasantly shocked by the dishes here. Very plentiful was the oyster appetizer and it could have served as just a dinner. The appetizers were plump, and it was served with a salad with bleu cheese and a la creme. For my main course I ordered the skirt steak which even after sending back once it was extremely tough and i ended up just throwing it away. I will return but will steer clear of their red meat. read more

The dinner was great the service was AMAZING. However i don't know what the rules are here approx 10 years ago i went here had a hoodie on and they said you cant't eat here with a hoodie i was taking my mother in law out for dinner it was embarrassing but they said if i kept my winter coat on i could eat the so i did in front of the fire place is where they sat us Then i bought my child, his mom and grandma a gift card and reservation for mothers day 4 years ago they were told no children in the casino. only to find out a co worker is always allowed to bring his kid in. This is supposed to be a steakhouse but the ribeye I received was less than 1/2" and looked like boiled meat. I expect something like this from one of those all you can eat buffets but not a steakhouse. My tab was $110 woth a cup of soup and 2 glasses of wine. Very happy with our experience here last night. The hostess was lovely and found us a nice table (we had no reservation). The restaurant had a lovely, homey feel and was tastefully decorated for the holidays. My fiancé had the ribeye and he said it was delicious. I had the short ribs, which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. We also ordered sides of mac and cheese and collard greens. All were delicious. Our server, Andrew, was a delight....so kind and he provided excellent, excellent service! We have been to the casino countless times and I'm kicking myself for not trying Bonz sooner. This is the nicest restaurant inside the casino. Check the web site for meal times since you won't find staffers outside of those times. If you like steak, this is the place to visit while inside the casino. Ironically, some of the meats are pricier than some at Capital Grille. The meats at the buffet seem less quality. The servers and hosts are nice. They should be at the prices you are paying. The restaurant area is slightly more private than the "lounge/bar" area. They don't allow to-go boxes. read more

Well, I was a little skeptical when I was invited to dinner at Bonz, based on the Yelp 3 star rating. Fortunately, our party of 7 had an enjoyable and well paced dinner. It took a few minutes to seat us and the hostess told us that they were extremely busy, so it may take a few minutes before our server could get to us. It did take about 15 minutes for our server Heather to get to us, but once she did, everything went smoothly. Everyone ordered a steak at varying temperatures. I had the 16 oz ribeye, medium rare with a side of bacon-wrapped asparagus. I also had the Caesar salad as an appetizer. The salad was good, but could have used more dressing - my fault for not asking for a little more. The steak was cooked perfectly. It did have a little gristle, but not so much that it ruined it. I would definitely recommend Bonz! read more

I thought about listing it under Harrington Raceway, which is where it is located, but since no one had reviewed yet I think it's best to make its' own page. Btw, it has numerous, numerous reviews on other sites, all ranking it 4 or higher out of 5. My experience there was nowhere NEAR that. So I'm left to wonder what on earth is going on. The review.... So, you have a hot date for New Years Eve, where do you take a hot date on the eastern shore? There isn't really a TON of options. There are a few higher notch steakhouses scattered throughout the shore, but once dinner is done, then what? Eureka strikes!! Dinner AND gambling! I've been to Harrington countless times, and although a little boring, it's a sleepy casino in the middle of sleepy Delaware. But, it has a steakhouse, check! A fancy steakhouse, check! The place to take a hot date? CHECK! I make reservations! Now I'm figuring this is going to be one top flight meal, right? There are like two major "eating out" holidays. Valentines Day(no pun intended) and New Years Eve. This place is going to have their game face on it's going to be EXCELLENT! No, not really! This place was woefully understaffed, and they weren't even full. Our server had WAY too much to do servicing all of his tables, that in the end it simply felt like eating at a diner, but with less service. My steak was overcooked(which had to be determined after being given the wrong steak and switching them around). The "family sized" side of asparagus had thirteen strands, THIRTEEN! What family is this supposed to feed? I have a feeling they were probably only supposed to give us six a piece, but someone in the back took pity on us and gave us an extra for "good measure". The Bearnaise sauce was absolutely terrible, I mean like terrible terrible. Please don't try it! The only bright side, and I mean only, was the hostess at the front! Because of the bitter cold my hot date had on a coat. The hostess took the coat upon entry and retrieved it upon leaving. That was the upshot to the entire experience. I mean wow!, I really couldn't have been much more disappointed. As it turns out some friends were there and I spoke to them later in the casino. They had roughly the same experience I did. Now please understand that if you want to be compared to "Outback", you'll have to lower your prices and expectations dramatically. The filet's were $32 a piece(8 oz, though I think only one was), the side was $6. At Outback at least I get a salad. I literally left hungry. After our interaction with the hostess it went straight downhill and never came back up for air. Do yourself a favor and skip it. We always have a pleasant experience when we come here. Our food was done and prepared in record time and it was very enjoyable and tasty. I had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. Which made my belly very happy. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, she stopped by at the perfect intervals to make sure we were OK. My husband and I have been dining at Bonz for years and overall I would rate it 5 stars. The quality of food, the service, and the ambiance are superb and not often duplicated in a casino venue. We like the fact that the menu changes seasonally and the chef takes advantage of the superb local produce.. Flavor profiles are varied and work out to be wonderful and creative. The preparation and plating are also key in a beautiful dining setting. We have tried many, if not all the seafood dishes as well as the steaks and chops over our almost monthly visits and all have been delicious. We have a preferred server, Scotty who always goes above and beyond to give excellent service and never misses anything that will turn a great evening into a fabulous one. If you have room for a dessert, try one of the homemade cakes that Scotty prepares with tantalizing flavors to tempt your sweet tooth ....you won't be disappointed. read more

Very overpriced for what you get. For example, sides are described as generous--one half of a not very large twice-baked potato for $8 is not what I would call generous. An 8 ounce filet mignon is $40, and it comes with absolutely nothing else (kinda like what you get at Ruths' Chris). Servers are top notch, however!! read more

Food was great, however service was very slow. Waited a long time to have our orders taken. When it was time for us to leave the check took forever. I don't know if they are under staff or just too busy. I usually leave a 20% tip. I felt bad not tipping but service was terrible. Facade of elegance and quality. Neither my wife nor I gamble. We enjoy fine dinning and have eaten in many restaurants in large cities throughout the US to include Hawaii and in Europe. In this case we were visiting my father in Delaware and were merely looking for a top notch steak house. This is not it, not even close. We concluded that it is a restaurant that is designed to cater to "comping" those gambling in the adjoining casino. That is truly all that it is good for in my opinion. If you decide to go here then I suggest setting your expectations low and you may not be disappointed. Otherwise you're better off going to a restaurant in Seaford or Dover if you looking for a good meal. The food was average at best. If you like a decent bottle of wine (as my wife and I do) with your meal then you are better off bringing your own. While we were being seated we were asked if we wanted to see the wine list. Given the way this restaurant presented itself (i.e. High prices and a Dress code - which was not being enforced) I was expecting a small book, which I have found to be typical in a restaurant with these prices. I was surprised to see the wine list comprised of 3/4 of one very small page in a rather small 4 page "drink book". This would prove to be foreboding of the night. There were maybe 5 choices for red. Remember this is a steak house, if they aren't going to carry a high selection then at least have a few quality selections such as a decent, inexpensive Cabernet Sauvignon. They had 2 cab sauvignon's but I can honestly say that I can't recall tasting such bad wines. They were truly poorly matched with the menu as they would go better at a cookout in a frat house. We had to try 3 before finding one that was barely acceptable. As previously stated the food was average. The steaks at Texas Roadhouse are actually of a higher quality than this restaurant. I will say that the salad and bread were truly delicious and my filet was decent but nothing extraordinary. Either the kitchen or our waiter was not in synch with the timing of the food as 2 out 3 of the side dishes and one entree were cold. The cold entree was the rib eye. At $36 my wife was expecting an above average entree. It didn't appear to be rib eye, it looked strange, almost like it was cut from a top round roast. Also, beside looking "strange" for a rib eye and being cold it tasted rotten. My wife actually felt ill and had the "runs" early in the morning the next day. The waiter copped a serious attitude when made aware of this. As he walked away he stated that he would have the chef try it. We found this be odd an never heard back from him on the Chef's verdict. This was our first time and we were very favorably impressed! Nice atmosphere, attentive professional staff. We were here for a concert and told the server as we were being seated that we needed to leave by 7:30--we were good to go at 7:15. I had the bistro steak--tenderloin slices broiled and just perfect. Juicy and flavorful. Served with an arugula salad with blue cheese crumbles. My dinner companion had broiled crab cakes with asparagus. She said they were quite good. We'll be back! read more

On a warm night we sat outside to eat at Bonz. Our server was very knowledgeable and did a nice job of explaining the entrees. I ordered the Special which consisted of Broiled snapper over gnocchi, potatoes, tomatoes, potatoes and garlic. The gnocchi was tasty but the snapper was dry, even after I used a substantial amount of lemon. Our daughter ordered the Stuffed lobster, which was cooked a little too much for her and was just average. Her boyfriend had the Rib eye steak cooked medium rare with asparagus. He really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the pasta. The pasta was homemade and it came with shrimp, scallops and crab. She let us all try it. It was quite tasty We enjoyed the atmosphere, but I'm not sure if I would recommend it. read more
