What a great find on the Delaware shore! I sat at the bar and received excellent service from the staff. They were clearly excited and sad that the season had come to an end, but were also very eager to help. They provided some great recommendations and suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted like it was actually "homemade". The crab soup was an amazing starter and is highly recommended! I'm sure this place has a great vibe in the "on-season" but even as their season was coming to a close, this location is hard to beat. Great location, old style yet not outdated coastal theme, and also a feeling of home.

We ended up here after driving into Delaware to check off this state. We received alerts that there might be coastal flooding and we did have to cross a slightly flooded parking lot to get into the restaurant. Thankfully the water wasn't very high though. The waiter was great and really nice. The only issue was she forgot our drink orders but quickly got them once we reminded her. We started with the crab stuff balls and they were great especially with the dipping sauce. They were full of crab so you wouldn't be left unsatisfied. The snow crab clusters were also great and simple. They didn't have any extra seasoning to put on them but they honestly didn't need it. I barely needed the butter either. Overall good experience

    The view is spectacular.

We had such a good time here. It's our 4th trip and every summer we look forward to going back. The food is fresh and well worth the journey. We sat outside. Crab cakes and salmon were very well prepared and flavorful. Can we also suggest that the coconut cake not be missed? Run to Jp's wharf. PS service was above and beyond the norm.

I went here on a Sunday for lunch. It was empty. The service was fast and friendly. I got the soft shell crab sandwich and peel and eat shrimp. Everything was delicious.

Given the area, overall, it was pretty good. I enjoyed the outdoor dining and waterfront views the most.... and I'm a sucker for soft-shell crab

I enjoyed the food at JP's. I got the fish and chips and my son ordered the crab balls and bacon wrapped scallops. The crab balls were good. The fish was nice and flaky and moist. The scallops were very tasty. They were plated on a delicious berry jam. We had great service with Kat taking care of us. The ambiance on the water was relaxing and pretty. After dinner we let the hostess know that we wanted ice cream and she met us at the window to serve us. When I'm back in Delaware I'll be sure to visit JP's Wharf for a nice seafood meal.

The decor was simple and not over the top "oceany" as some tourist traps. I saw they were inland which I like. I try to avoid the neon wharf spots and I was so happy. I sat at the bar, which was full of welcoming locals and a tired traveling clown (me). The gravelly-voiced owner of I thing third generation paused a few times between sending out trays of steaming crab. He was a perfect blend of warm-hearted welcoming and hard-bitten tyrant. I went for the all you can eat feast at $69 (prices always subject to change) which comes with fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. I was assured the sizes were running large and it wasn't just a line. I was happy with the mediums. All I can say is they do crab RIGHT here. Fresh steamed ONCE so the meat is incredibly moist and succulent. And they just kept coming in trays of four. I ended up having a dozen which made it a deal at $69 compared at the price of a dozen à la carte. But who cares?!? They are blue crabs steaming and fresh and it was a feast. Side dish commentary: the fries are excellent. None of this cardboard tasting shoestrings. They were thick cut with skin on! The hush puppies classically tasty and the Cole slaw was not over dressed. Bonus!!! I can't wait to go back and try the she-crab soup and the bread pudding (highly recommend by my neighbor at the bar who is a local restaurateur).

I always appreciate when a business gives me insight like this. We promptly received our drinks and were informed of the specials, which all sounded delicious. We put in our order, and we barely noticed a delay in our food coming out. (But nonetheless we appreciated the heads-up!) I had the short ribs, and they were incredible. They were falling off of my fork because they were so tender! The mashed potatoes served with them were also great. The rest of our party ordered seafood, and everyone in the group raved about how good their dishes were. My only regret was that none of us saved room for dessert! Something that also truly stuck out to me: one of the managers noticed my grandma was cold and adjusted the temperature in the room in which we were seated. I know this isn't standard practice at restaurants, but I can't say enough how much it meant to us that the staff paid so much attention to us. A rotation of 2 servers so we always had what we needed. We were in from out of town so the powdered sugar on the hush puppies were a little weird, but still pretty good. Very crispy and flavorful. Sweet, but good. The baby back ribs tasted fine, but there was barely any bbq sauce. After putting extra sauce on it, it was fine. The potato was not very good. The first one was partially black, but the immediately came with a replacement. But they were a little dry. The crab cakes were flavorful and pretty large and meaty. Not a lot of stuffing like filler. One is fried and one is broiled. Not much different between the two. Tasted great. Fries were really crispy. The admiral plate wasn't too bad. The shrimp was like cocktail shrimp and could use more seasoning. The fish was a tad overdone but the tartar sauce saved it. The tarter was probably the best I've had. Scallops. Same thing. A little overdone and needed more seasoning. The crab cake was great though. Might try this again.

Once inside the restaurant, the tables are long and very close together. Not too many table are just 4-tops of which means you'll be seated with others most likely . It was a tight squeeze to get up from the tables due to them being so close . They dump all the crabs and corn on your table which leaves lil space to actually eat them. There are three bathroom stalls for a really big restaurant of which causes a long line every time you need to use the bathroom. Now the crabs themselves were a mix of small & mediums but they were really juicy and had a good taste. The servers were pretty cool although they seemed overwhelmed with the large groups of people. Overall the crabs, corn, clam strips, and fried chicken thighs and shrimp were good. I would come back again just not on a trip so I can get a better chance if not being seated with people don't know .
