As a new client with Booji Beauty Bar my experience was unacceptable and unprofessional. The owner (Jasmine), damaged my new glueless lace front wig by cutting it too short. You can see the thread in three different places in the back of the wig. She then provided me a dirty mirror in which I couldn't see the damage until I got home. What haunted me is that she was aware of the damages and didn't say anything even after I paid and gave her a nice tip. I did reached out to her to repair the damage, she provided no apologies or show any regrets. This salon has been unprofessional and seems to have deceptive practices in my experience. After multiple last minute cancellations we stopped taking our daughter to this salon for a few years. We tried giving them another chance at their new location and scheduled braids for our daughter for a 340.00 knotless braid special that included the braiding hair. 3/4 of the way through the stylist told us she didn't have anymore of the hair she was using and wanted to complete the service with another type of hair. My daughter did not like that idea so we went to buy more braiding hair. We drove to 3 different stores to try to buy more hair but it was late on a Saturday and most stores were closed or didn't have the hair. The stylish finished the braids with another type of hair she had on hand and said she would correct it the next week, free of charge and would book the appointment as a fix. We brought our daughter back the next week and had it fixed. We then got an additional $ 180.00 charge on our credit card that we didn't authorize on top of the 485.00 (340.00 service fee plus a generous tip we had paid the week before). We also didn't have that card on file so we are not sure how they were able to charge the card without it being present. I'm led to believe they went and pulled our card number from the previous appointment which is concerning about how card data is stored. Once I saw the charge, we called to inquire why we were charged again the owner made up an excuse and blamed us for not buying enough hair ( we didn't buy the hair, it was included). The hair they had on hand and added in after they ran out of the first type of hair matted after a week but luckily after they corrected it at the $180.00 correction appointment, it looked okay. It definitely doesn't look like a 520.00 + 150.00 tip hair style and it's sad that they don't stand behind their work or their word. I also feel terrible that we were there and my little girl had to sit there for 9 hours and then an additional 4 to fix it for what is normally is a 5-6 hour appointment at other salons. After coming back to my previous hair dresser from moving back north, she was SHOCKED at what was done to my hair. Improper beads were used, my ends were over processed, most of the extensions had to be removed with force from too big of an I-tip into small of a bead. Multiple people at the salon said they looked homemade, and the quality is very fragile. Booji Beauty had me buy all new hair when I already had perfectly fine extensions in. Came only wanting move ups but trusted that she knew what she was doing and bought the hair she recommended. I am out of hundreds of dollars because the hair I purchased from this salon is unusable. I had to buy even more hair and get a whole reinstall at another salon. This isn't cheap... I'm devastated and out of a lot of money. read more

I'm not often inclined to leave negative reviews, however I have to say my experience at this salon was less than satisfactory. I was looking for a place to do faux locs and after some research came across Booji Beauty Bar. They listed faux locs as a service they provide so I proceeded to book through their website. The website directs you to an app where you are to input your information and establish an account in order to schedule your appointment. This would be a great method if you were able to communicate directly with the person that will be doing your hair via the app in order to ensure they have an idea of your expectations before the day of your appointment. So come the day of my appointment I arrive 20 minutes prior to my time that I am scheduled, but my stylist arrives 20 mins after the time I was scheduled. The salon has a late policy that they have you agree to prior to your appointment. In addition, they have you put a deposit down to ensure you comply. If the expectation for the client is to be there on time I believe the stylist should also be held to that standard. Once I finally got let into the salon suite I was not spoken to whatsoever about my expectations or ideas on how I wanted my hair done that day. So I took the initiative to tell my stylist what I wanted and showed her visual aids. I asked her if she would be able to accomplish this look on me and she said that she would be able to. As I'm sitting in the chair I notice that she is straying further and further away from what I envisioned my hair to look like. So I voiced my concerns and she just nodded her head and said ok. Trying to have as much faith in this salon and the expertise of the stylist I sat there until she was finished. After being completely frustrated with the outcome I left and I called the store manager the next day to explain to her how I felt about my hair and to find a resolution. She told me I could come back in to see that stylist, but had to come that day since my stylist was no longer going to be employed there after that day. If I did not come that day there was nothing she would do for me. So I headed back into the salon and was questioned whether or not I had an appointment and treated rudely in my opinion. I was extremely patient with both my stylist and the store owner as I waited for my concerns of the look of my hair to be addressed. When my stylist finally got to my hair and we started discussing my issues she once again just nodded and agreed to fix it. While my stylist is helping me the store owner interrupts her to ask how long she will take to finish my hair, so she could go back to her other client. The store owner decides that she'll finish my hair so my stylist can go back to the other client. I didn't mind the store owner being in my hair, but she was extremely aggressive, rushing and making me feel as though I was a burden in the chair. It came to a point where I just wanted her to stop and get out of my hair to get out of that salon. I spoke to the store owner one more time in an effort to get some kind of positive outcome from the whole situation and she just made empty promises of setting me up with an alternative stylist or a refund. I have not received any further correspondence or communication with the store owner as promised. Based off of my experience with this salon and store owner I would have to say it's a poor example of how a business should be ran. The delivery of service did not meet my expectations and when presented to the owner I encountered a passive aggressive and rude response. It's very unfortunate that I have to write this negative review, but I don't want anyone else to have to endure the same experience. Went for appointment at 1045 and left at 625P!!!! Medium box braids on a child. Per the website service should be 3.5hrs. And quite frankly was around that time for our previous appointment at this salon and typical at other salons. 7hrs for routine box braids is unacceptable. The person who was slated to do my daughter's hair looked bewildered and clueless which she confirmed by uttering to another stylist 'I don't know what the f**k to do'. She's supposed to be styling a child's hair! At hour 3 I think one row of hair was done. I've never seen a person appear so clearly incompetent attempting to do hair. Other stylists kept coming over to her, I guess they also observed the incompetence. Eventually another stylist took over as it was evident original stylist was not up to task. Why she was assigned to do box braids befuddles me. I think overall the staff is friendly but I will not return. I simply do not have that amount of time to waste. Go elsewhere. Or perhaps choose stylist who previously did your hair and you're aware of their competence. If you're trying them for the first time, and chose random stylist, clear schedule and be prepared to spend all day for pretty average service. I'll pass. Oh and the entrance door was locked. Calling and texting salon was futile. Luckily someone on inside saw us trying to get in and let us in. A mess from start to finish. read more

I spent 8 hours in this salon for a service that was supposed to take 2 1/1 hours. They would do one thing then i'd wait another hour for the next thing to be done. Not to mention when they were "done" you could see tracks, The leave out didn't blend at all and the braids underneath were loose. I went into the salon yesterday. In the beginning I was becoming impatient because I had to wait. I'm not big on waiting normally I will leave. However, the owner was sweet and explained the wait. I felt that was really nice of her. This was my first time getting my hair coiffed in her establishment and I appreciated her and her vibe. The owner did ny hair and did a really good job. I didn't want it to tight or to much pressure and she braided my hair down without the slightest bit of pressure and did my sew in without any pressure or pulling. Loved her and her shop. My suggestion would be to go to her and try. She is lovely. read more

Honestly I was so excited to come to this salon, but I left with so much disappointment. First off she was an hour late, and it took her 5 hrs to complete the sew in. My braids and sew in were so tight (and I expressed this to her WHILE she was braiding my hair) that it started pulling my hair out. I have so many pictures that I took that shows the red irritations, blisters, and bumps. When I told them this, they didn't want to help at all, they didn't even allow me to get a refund. The whole sew in was painful, and a week later I'm still having headaches. Wouldn't recommend this place, they aren't professional nor do they care about customer satisfaction. read more

I wasn't going to post a negative review of this salon and my experience, since I usually try to solve the issue with the salon itself. However after finally taking my hair out of braids and seeing the damage, I feel this review is warranted. I went to get bob box braids in March, specifying to the stylist that I wanted the braids exactly how she had them when I decided on them, which was a little shorter than bra strap length. At first everything was great. She was gentle, didn't pull, and had good conversation. Then she just started chopping the braids into a VERY short bob, which I did not ask for. At that point it was already done, so I thought ok it might still be cute. Which it was. The problem came after my mom was curious how she got the braids so short without cutting my hair. Curious as well, I took one of the braids out and saw at least an inch was cut off my hair. I'm not super attached to my hair since I get protective styles so often, so just figured I would talk to the owner and stylist. I called and the owner told me to come in the next day so they could take a look. I go in and never get greeted at all. The owner is sitting right by the door working on a wig and never said anything to me. Ok whatever. I'm standing there for a while behind the stylist who did my hair before I finally say something. She starts inspecting my hair, the entire time the owner never once coming over to see what the problem is. Your stylist cut somebody's hair WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION and you don't even feel the need to talk to me about the problem. The stylist then goes on to measure my hair, as if a certain length cut off would have been more acceptable then a big chop. Then she proceeds to say "well it was just an inch". How a stylist can say this to somebody is beyond me. Still no word from the owner. The stylist asks the owner what to do and her response is "well nobody has told me anything so I don't know what's going on". Mind you the salon is only so big, so I'm pretty sure she heard at least 5 minutes of our 10 minute conversation. Then they have a conversation about whether to refund me or give me a free appointment. Apparently the refund was better because a free appointment would be "giving away another spot to make money". Ridiculous. They really made me feel as if my hair being cut was my problem to solve and because it was "just an inch" it wasn't a big deal. I had every intention of letting them make it right because I really did like the stylist who did my braids, but clearly that was too hard. I will never return and have even told other people who have asked me to recommend a salon not to go to this salon, not because they cut my hair, but because of the HORRIBLE customer service. I ended up having to cut 1-1/2 inches off my hair to match the pieces she cut. Luckily I found a stylist who was considerate and listened to my needs. This is an update to my "medium-sized" box braids that I had done. These images are after only 1 week of wearing them. I cover my braids every night before bed, and I have worn box braids before. Never, until now, have they frayed like this. This looks like it is on the 9th week of wear. Please don't let this person do anymore box braids until she is retrained. I have scheduled another appointment with a different shop that actually has good braided, but this means I'm spending twice as much because Shay doesn't know how to properly do box braids. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars cause they sure deserve it. I requested an appt for my daughter and I. You will go to a third party website Vagaro to set up the appt. I had to text several times to get an email to confirm the appt. Once I did receive the confirmation sign a request with $50 deposit. Then I text once again to confirm what I am paying the deposit for in details but then I was advised that my daughter will have to be picked up while my hair was being serviced!!! They say they have a no child policy which I understand but she would have been just serviced by the salon. My appointment with nikaila went great! She really took the time to make sure my hair was perfect. I was hoping that she's braid way down to the ends which she did and she trimmed the bottom of my box braids as well. It took about 4 hours which was a big long but it was worth it! One recommendation i'd Have us to ask more questions about how the client personally would like their style instead of assuming, but overall it was great! Definitely coming back! read more

I then showed a picture of how I wanted it to be. Not only did it not look similar but it was wayyyy shorter then what I wanted. My first appointment with Nita went well. She was very professional and on time. I decided to grow locs so I scheduled with Dominique next. She was 20 minutes late to my appointment but I was fine since she worked fast. My husband scheduled an appointment to retwist his locs. His appointment was at 2 and he was on time. He was told by Dominique to leave and come back in 30 minutes because she was working on client. He came back and she wasn't even 1/2 way through so he asked to reschedule. She rescheduled him for 9 the next morning. After waiting until 9:25, he called the salon number and end result was that she was just getting in her car and was on her way. Again my husband canceled. This was very unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude. I had an appointment scheduled with her this Saturday and I am now canceling. I just loveeee this salon. Do to me recently having a child twisting my natural hair has become soo time consuming. It was refreshing to find a group of ladies who did not force a perm on me. Jasmine the owner of this cute and comfy salon not only was very accommodating, her knowledge of natural hair care put me at ease. Got box braids last Wednesday and was honestly really excited to find a place that seemed to offer the quality I was looking for being as this was my first time getting my hair done since I've lived in Denver. However yesterday one of my braids came out in full form. I attempted to undo the braided hair and rebraid from the root myself but it seems as if the parts around the edge of my head are just too small with too little hair to hold onto a braid. I don't have the energy to go back and get it fixed at this salon, I'd rather just take the loss of money at this point for 5 days of box braids. read more
