Great store! There are plenty of books in all genres, whether mystery, romance, or biography. I walked inside and went to ask for something specific, but it was right at the front entrance on top of a table. I was amazed at how many new and popular books were here. They also had more than four tables with discounted books ranging from $7.99 to $5.99 and $3.99. These were very popular books that came out this year, ranging from paperback to hardback. I have been going here for years. The service has always been decent. The selection is good. The board games and other novelty type stuff is excellent. It is funny to go to a bookstore and not get books but I love the t shirt collection and other goodies. read more

The store itself-they have an outstanding selection. Comparing having to drive another 30 minutes into the city I'd rather drive ten from my apt and plop down here until they tell me to go home. The cafe-the coffee is terrible. Always bad. I've actually got Starbucks and brought it here. Ordered something from the sweets counter just so they won't throw me out. Their sweets are bearable. I've had better, but hey it's Henry county ppl and for a weeknight outing I'll take it. The customer service-I've never had inconsistent customer service here until Sunday night. Yesterday. I had been in late (20 min till close) and after the final announcement I took my books to register. I stood there with no one else in line and waited 5 minutes before anyone said anything even though there were 3 employees behind counter. The manager appeared to be closing a register. The girl that had been staring at me within that time finally said are you ready. Acting dumb like she hadn't seen me. She then said her register was close and pointed me to the manager who finally noticed I was there. Miraculously. He said his registered was closed and told me to go to the cafe. Okay wow. I just left the store and it was terrible, here's the story. So, I was going to purchase something, the moment I walk up there, the cashier lady walked away and goes behind the cafe counter. Me, standing there thinking that they would come back to help me purchase these items. No. They just stared at me from behind the counter and didn't even say anything. There were 3 people, one lady left, thinking that she would help me but actually she just walked out. The other 2 were just standing there quietly not EVEN going to say anything to me. I was looking for Borders which isn't in the immediate vicinity of where I now reside. Well, I ran across BAM and wasn't immediately impressed upon entering. It was my first time being in BAM and not being familiar with the lay-out I was not excellently pleased with not finding the book I was seeking for my granddaughter in the section I would have normally been able to locate it at Borders or B&N; to add to my dismay, I wasn't able to locate a BAM employee on the floor to assist me. Therefore, I had to go to the registrar for assistance which changed my less-than-favorable impression of the store. The younglady behind the counter was extremely polite and quite helpful, she not only came from behind the counter to assist me in locating the book, she made certain I received a free bag, discount card, and free magazine subscription; I'm certain they do that for all their customers, but it did reduce my initial frustration. In addition, she ordered the remaining books in the series for me to pick up in a week. I'd change the store's lay-out, as it seems a bit cluttered, but all and all it wasn't too bad. Their return policy STINKS!!! Tried to EXCHANGE a book for another in series but my receipt was a week too late. Didn't want money just another book for my son. Manager couldn't care less!!!! Today I went in to purchase a school book for my son. The book was not in the store, but they said I could order it and have it delivered to my house. When it was time to pay I handed the cashier some cash and was told I could only pay with a credit card. This is an inconvenience when I want to use cash. I found another place to purchase the book in question. read more

Stuck here due to Hurricane Hermine. I happened in to books a million and was pleasantly surprised with the friendly helpful staff in McDonough GA. They even helped me find a restaurant I was looking for and gave me their local opinions about it. It's nice to feel welcome when visiting a new town. read more

This place is sad. My daughter called ahead today (8/10/14) to see if they had Crime and Punishment. She left her name and was told the book would be held for her. We get to the store only to find they sold the book to someone else in less than an hour. The store manager would not even speak with us (although she was standing right at the front of the store and the clerk made her aware of the problem). I pointed out that we were in Customer Service and asked what they could do at this point. The store manager offered to get the book to us in seven to ten days. WOW! (Wouldn't want her to go out of her way or anything for the stores mistake. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE IF YOU NEED ANY KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. Go to Barnes and Noble. This is a great place to shop! I can almost always find what I need in the store and if I can't, have the discount card that gets me free 1-3 day shipping online. The sales are always amazing and the coupons help me out drastically since I'm one of 3 readers in my immediate family. To the guy who complained about the return policy, it's a bookstore, not a library. That is why they have that return policy. Idiot. If you want to get a book for your son to read and then return for the next book, go to a library. No place of business wants you to purchase an item, use it, and then return it. Duh. Also, it's a small-ish business. When you have 4 or 5 people per shift and customers are needy, they can't always be right up front. read more
